Got an email from 1-877-223-1575 claiming to be from Regions Bank VISA Card.  Scam, don't call it.

Got a message on my home phone and a text on my cell from 8772234850@bankofamerica.com, saying my bank of america account has been compromised. I don't have a BOA account

Scam alert for Regions Bank.  They have been hit very hard lately for scams. - As always, don't give you info to these people.

We detected irregular activity on your Regions Visa® CheckCard on 10/19/2007. For your protection, you must verify this activity before you can continue using your card.

Please call us immediately at 1.877.223.1575. We will review the activity on your account with you and upon verification, we will remove any restrictions placed on your account. .......

I just got this email too and was suspicious.  I did not call the number and, fortunately, found this information first!  Thanks for providing this service.  I wonder what happens if you call that number?

As of today it is claiming to be Regions Bank and is very official looking.
Don't call it.  Regions has no record but they are aware of it.

Looks like this is part of a phishing scam claiming to be ETrade.

It's what's known as vishing, in which victims receive an email telling them to call this number to re-activate their account, which had been closed due to supposed fraud.
