BANK STATEMENT SAYS WORLD TRADE 877-225-8813. THEY TOOK $9.70 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT. CALLED THE BANK AND STARTED A FRAUD INVESTIGATION ON THEM. DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THE HELL THEY THINK THEY'RE DOING F#%!ING WITH MY BANK ACCOUNT.

They took $9.65 from my checking account.  Never heard of them.  Good credit card company took care of the false charge.  Same phone number from California. Called the number and it was out of service.

Just had them charge $9.65 here as well.  Hopefully the credit card companies get enough complaints and just block this scammer.

I got a charge of $9.65 on my credit card statement from World Trade with the 877-225-8813 number listed.  When I called the number it was out of service. Only checking the number on Google assured me that I have not done business with this company and that I was probably scammed.ese people so think this was a   I've gone ahead and cancelled my credit card- urgh!!!

World Trade debited $9.75 from my account.  1-877-225-8813 number is not is service.  Have to cancel my debit cards and get new ones now.

They took 9.65 from my debit card for no reason. Never called me, just took the money. The phone number is on the transaction. Going to the bank about this one.

Found this thread while searching for World Trade and a mysterious $9.70 charge on 2/7/2009 to my Visa Debit Card. Same deal only the phone number is 888-822-9728 now and of course the number answers with "this mailbox is full". Hard to believe this scam is still chugging along. Disputing the charge, canceled the card...what a pain in the a**!

I just found a charge on my Visa credit card from World Trade for $9.75.  Different phone number.  Same message when I tried to call it.  Called my bank and all they could say was that it was "computer networking".

Just thought I would update.  Got hit with $9.75 on a VISA debit card, that is used infrequently.  World Trade has a new phone number: 1-800-931-8580.  Same lame voice mail.

I received my Visa statement with a mystery transaction from World Trade 877-225-8813.  I called my credit card company and told them that I have never heard of this company nor did I order anything from them.  Visa removed the charge from my card.  Thank you VISA!!!  I googled the phone number and found all these posts.  I will be cancelling my card very soon.  How did this company get my number???

They just took $9.75 from my account.  I ordered something from Amazon the same day.  I emailed them to let them know...I think they may have gotten the infor from there somehow.  I tried calling the phone number 877-225-8813 and it is no longer in service.

I never received a phone call (that I can recall) but a $9.70 charge appeared on my VISA credit card 2/25/08.  Merchant:  World Trade 877-225-8813 CA.  Chase (my VISA Bank)has removed the charge and disputed the amount back to the merchant.

In terms of reporting it needs to be reported to the Federal Trade Commision at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) and if you ignore all the prompts and press 450 each time then you get routed directly to a person and you can file a complaint.  It can also be done online at FTC.gov.  I recommend calling, it's a bit easier and you get a case reference number.  I've already reported it but FTC can only take down info pertinent to YOUR experience (IE they don't accept that I offered that this is happening to many people or my offer to tell them all the alias names of the company) so the more reports the better (I assume).  Good Luck!

called my bank to dispute and flag it as FRAUD

It's probably a fishing scam,, interesting though I had multiple Virius's on my computer approx. 15 including win.32 and trojans

Me three... I used to work for Certegy and received a letter a few months ago that my information had been included in a database on a contractor's laptop that was stolen. I just received a notice today from the credit monitoring company that my credit file is OK, then I see this today on my checking account. I guess I feel better that it appears they only hit you once, but I'm really glad I found this site to validate that it is in fact a fraudulent charge. How annoying on a Friday.

I too had a charge on my debit card for 9.65 on 3/3/08 from World Trade in
CA.  Called the number 877-225-8813 got a recording left message no return
call received.  Reported to bank need to go through the aggravation of
disputing the charge, cancelled card.

Didn't get a call from them, but a charge to my credit card 2/21/08, World Trade 877-225-8813 CA, same thing, $9.65 charge, answering machine at the ph#, left messages, no reply.  Have reported to my card services, will alert them to this site.

I just got hit by these creeps as well.  I ordered a credit report a few weeks ago with a Visa, and got hit for $9.65.

Mine was a Mastercard.

Thank you for this log.  I now know that the charge on my credit card is a faud.  I have fill a report with my bank.  Is this only happening to mastercard holders?

I too had a charge on my debit card for $9.75. I reported it to the bank. They gave me that phone number and I got the recording that everyone else got. I cancelled my card and ordered a new one. Really sucks. Mastercard no longer stands behind fraud charges on a debit card so the bank didn't give me the money back. Nice.

I never received a call but when I received my bank statement in February I noticed a charge from World Trad , 600 Anton Boulevard, CA for $9.70 on the date:  1/22/08.  I had purchased an item via debit card on the same date from Office Max in Selma CA.  I researched the phone number listed on my statement and it matched 1-877-225-8813.  I am filing a claim through my bank.  I NEVER either made this charge.

I checked my bank statement, and saw a charge of 9.65.
Called my bank, they're sending me afidavit of fraud to be fiiled out.
Called the 877-225-8813 number, very vierd recording.
This is definately a fraud

All the major US credit report agencies were affected....

This is totally related to equifax.... but not exclusively them. You had to have bought a product from them (processed by certegy) with a press release on their website < http://www.certegy.com/FISPressRelease7-3.pdf > detailing the theft of millions of card details. Most people are hit once by Fabritex... see http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-832-519-1980/ --- then again a bit later by World Trade.

Unfortunately you will need to cancel your card and get a new card number.

I wouldn't shop at equifax or tie rack either (by card) until there is some sort of official statement this has been sorted out.

I had a charge for 9.70 as well.  My credit card company is looking into this matter.  I NEVER made the charge!
