As mentioned before, this is a Chase number that calls you to provide a requested PIN. In my case, the cookies had been cleared recently and the servers wanted to re-verify I was who I was. I can see that sometimes a person may finger-fudge their own number.

As the message says, if you did not request the number AND you have a Chase credit card of some sort, call the number on the back of your card. NEVER call a number given to you by a call!

I just remember why they called.  It is Chase........I was trying to sign on to an old acct & lost my password.  This was a call w/an ID # so I could sign in & assign a new password.  For once it was legit!

This number is a genuine call-back from Chase Bank.

As a security feature of Chase online banking, for various technical reasons I won't get into, sometimes Chase prompts the user to confirm they're authorized holder of the account they're trying to get into online. When this happens, their website gives a "detour" page, where you prompt them to have their computers phone or text you at the phone number used in setting up the account. It always calls me right away. That's how they give you an 8-digit code you enter into the detour page, along with your normal password. It's a wise safety feature. And it takes me less than 1 minute to finish the cycle and get into my account.

To the persons who received the automated call that reads off the 8-digit number, you should be happy not mad. It's a sign that someone unauthorized made an unauthorized attempt to enter your account from a computer that lacks the "cookie" Chase puts onto authorized users's computers. The only "scam" is the one Chase's excellent security foiled: a scammer had tried to break into your account, but, got blocked.

The fact that their phone number does not say Chase Bank on our Caller ID probably has something to do with security too. When they called me today, I didn't even look at my Caller ID until hours later. Because it was a call I triggered and expected to ring within seconds of me making my selections on that detour page.

Caller ID says this number came from "TOLL FREE CALL" instead of "Chase Bank."
But it really IS Chase Bank.

I have no account with chase.. they left a message to call a number if I had not requested an access code? They gave me a long number and said it was my code I would need to access on line?

Sounded like a scam to me, I didn't call.

CORRECTED MESSAGE...

RE:  877/226-5663

Actually, this toll-free phone number belongs to CHASE BANK Fraud Dept. who sends a special log-in number to your cell phone whenever you attempt to log-in to your bank account using a different (or public) computer (or any new computer).

RE:  877/226-5663

This toll-free phone number belongs to CHASE BANK Fraud Dept.  They called to verify if I "in fact" made the numerous and/or unsual charges to my debit card, incluidng overseas.  It was all automated.  All they asked and wanted was for me to either verify or decline each of the four most recent charges to my debit card.  Since I verified each of them, the automated system said something like "Thank You" and hung up the call.  Presumably, only if you decline the charges would the call be transferred to a real person at the Bank.

That number 877-226-5663 just called me! It was an automated call giving me a verification code and it said I requested it and that if I didn't to call 866-355-3744. I did not call those numbers I called the Chase automated number and spoke with someone and they said to ignore it. The weird thing is that my home phone number IS NOT listed on my Chase account just my cell number is!

I got a call from this number at 1:36 a.m. I DID NOT appreciate being woken from a sound sleep, expecting it to be bad news. The caller said it was Chase Bank with a ten-digit number I needed to access my account. Then if I hadn't requested the number, to call another phone number. I hung up, thinking it was a scam.

Actually, all that is is part of Chase's Secure Socket Layering (SSL) for their checking/savings, etc., accounts.

When someone tries to log into an account, that number will call to provide access to the account by giving an 8 digit number to log in with.

If anyone is getting odd calls and don't have a Chase account, odds are the person who had the phone number before you did.

I just got a call from this number. She asked for the man I bought this house from 2 years ago. This has been my number for 15 years. The bad thing is we both have the same last name & he was at this address so I've been getting several collections calls. They are searching the address and name.

Re 877-226-5663 Legit # ...was the line number for the required 8 didget security code I REQUESTED to access my on line account after not having used it for several months. only quirk was that they called back several times while I was on the line getting code  from the same # in order give me 2 more codes where I only "clicked"  once. ...got me into my on line Account with the first one with no other problems.

I don't have a Chase account but all of a sudden this number called me today and gave me some code to use as well as a number to call if we did not request the code. Of course I didn't, so I phone them up and none of the options are pertinent, plus when I try to get on the line with a human, they ask me to dial in my debit card (through my credit union)'s number. Like hell I will! I hung up right away!

this number left a message on my caller id---it was spoken so softly that I could not amp up voice enough to hear clearly---a female voice seemed to be saying something about prices.

This is a scam.

I received a call and later a text from 242733 stating that an identification code was requested. Being concerned I researched online and it appeared to be a scam. Later I looked up the phone number that Chase has for me and it's not even the same number that I was getting the calls and messages- so it couldn't be legit.

Don't listen to others who say differently, they may be the fraud people.

Don't respond in any way, i've  read they can charge your phone

This number, as mentioned, from Chase Bank.  But in my case, I was preparing to wire money from my bank account online, for which I needed an 8-digit pin for identification purposes (hence, "PIN", obviously), and I had no sooner request the PIN to be sent via my telephone number on my account profile than my phone rang with an automated voice giving me the PIN for use in initiating the wire transfer.  But as usual, I looked up the number at this website prior to my answering an "UNAVAILABLE" name on my caller ID.

I received a call from this number today.  It was Chase, an automated alert.

I WAS going to say the following but I realize now that people do in fact rely on this website for honesty, so here goes:
"I received a call from this number today.  It was Chastity...She really don't wanna be a virgin anymore.  I just got the Booty Call."
