These half-witted jerks called my Google Voice number.  I did not call them back.  I am not in debt to anyone, so I know this is a scam.

I also reported them to the FCC for their criminal (phishing) activity.  I highly recommend you do the same if they harass you.

Every time I happen to answer the phone when this number comes up, there's NEVER anyone there. Nobody speaks. I say, "Hello" pause for a few seconds, and repeat at least 6 or7 times with no results. Just got the call 3 minutes ago. It's 9pm here. nobody is supposed to call in my state unless it's family/friends.

Status: Called, but left no voicemail.  Seeing this is a T-Mobile Collections by the notes.  I have never had a T-Mobile account.  I use Verizon and have for years.  I used AT&T prior to that for over a decade.

Just got a robot call from this number about a debt....I have none!!!  Won't be calling them back after reading all the comments here!  Thnx!

Feb 2013 Received a call from 877-229-2313, looking for someone that doesn't live here and never has.  Totally computer automated. No ID as to who was calling.

It is Feb 2013 and this Carrie Smith is still making calls.  Same as the rest of your stories.  Just wanted to add so people know they are still doing this.

it was from FNMA Alliance, a bill collection agency

A recorded call from Carrie Smith keeps coming for the previous owner of my house -- she never had my current phone number.

They've called my Grandparents over thirty times in the last two weeks, asking for her and his social, thier banking info, and thier address. They've been trying the T-mobile route with them. These people are Pishers, DONT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!! Major id fraud.

Sounds like a scam, I have received several call from this number. called back to see who it was. The recording said they "so and so" company calling on behalf of Tmobile. Tmobile is such a hug company, why would they have another agency collecting for them.     Plus I am current on my bill, so I know they werent calling for me. I put them on my phone's reject list, this should stop the calls I am hoping

Hi my name is Ashley Leach. Tmobile has been contacting me about a debt I owe them. I never set up an account with them! I called in and got a quote on a contract. I never signed anything. The rep opened a false account in my name. Is there anything I can do? I want to sue for pain and suffering. I am suffering by having to be harassed my debt collectors for something I don't owe and for having to be placed on hold for hours, hung up on, and mistreated. This number 877-229-2313 keeps calling me and is very very rude!

They don't leave a message at my home and we don't answer the phone for numbers like that.

They are not a collection service for Tmobile or AT&T at all.  But fraud auntie fraud is on it now.  Call your carrier with any questions and don't provide personal info to these criminals.  The shocking thing is that they were able to get our account info.  I was not in collection and they tried to get money from me.  I had ported my number and somehow they got the info.  Not good.  They will be sweet and try to get more personal info such as bank accounts etc. don't even give them your address.  The creditor knows how to reach you.  Also,. they are calling friends and family trying to get money too.  Cary Smith as American as Apple Pie.  Anyway all is well that ends well with me and I hope they have been reported to attorney generals offices and further if you know what I mean. Massuchesetts!

No it isn't a collection service for Tmobile.  I called Tmobile and was told they were glad I didn't pay them and my account was not in collections.  However the scary thing they had my moms number out of state.  Tmobile didn't even have that.  FRAUD

they are a collection agency for T-Moblie or so they say calling for my father. We never in our lives had t-moblie phones and i even went into a T-Moblie store because this is the 2nd call that came and I said they had the wrong number.  They even looked up my address at the store and there was never a number listed to my house. I was like then why am I still getting calls. The lady I talked with today said they will take care of this as long as they get my father's social thats how i knew this was a fake besides we only deal with verizon as a cell provider for 15 yrs.  Def Wrong NUMBER!  How is I understand this without giving and receiving other information but you can't the world we live in.

they will also have someone calling to arrange a time to serve you papers that you will need to sign...oh the webs they spin!

My sister-in-law said that someone by the name of Carrie Smith called their house and left a message for me. She left the number 877-229-2313.  I don't know a Carrie Smith. If this is an attempt to collect from me on a past due bill I would like to know how they got my brother's number because I don't have any of my family listed on accounts. Seems to me they must have gone down the list of people in our town with the same last name as mine leaving msgs hoping someone would be kin to me.

Message says its from Kerry Smith looking for Liz Hunt and to call the number 877-229-2313 back. Did not call back.

This number keeps calling our house and leaving a message for one of our young children.  The recording says some of the same things other people on here have stated.  We called the number to get the name off their collection list and the real person who answers that number says that they don't know anything about our child's name in their system.  We have tried to remove our number so now we just ignore the call and delete messages but it is getting old!!!!

This number is fake, acting like they are collection agency and will ask you your personal information. Be Ware!!!!!!!!

Got a message from an automated voice, "This is Carrie Smith, I need help locating (an old college roommate that never lived or visited us at our address/phone number)," and asking we call the number.  We called and the woman who answered was very evasive about who she worked for and refused to tell us her line of business.  We told her we didn't have any info about the person they were searching for, so she asked for our number to take us off the list.  It felt skeevy, so we hung up.  If they call again, we'll report them to our phone company since it seems they're not even a legit collection agency.

someone named carrie smith called my 76 year old mother looking for my wife. I called the number and was told that I owe t-mobie 400 dollars. We no longer have t-mobile and have not for about 6 months for a flat fee. I told her that I will report her.

Called for a Rickspy-turned out it was a relative by marriage across the country-hung up-called them back to see what it was-some company associated with T mobile-could not help them. I am already on the do not call registry. What can I do to avoid these calls?

Was called with an automated message to call the above 877 number; the automated message said they were "trying to locate" someone: they gave a name of this someone, a name in which the last name was the same as my last name.

These sh_ts try to put pressure on the debtors by calling who they think may be their relatives (or once, on our street, even their neighbors.)

I read them the excellent text from alfalfa above.  If they call back -- hoohoo, the legal buzz saw will commence.

Left a message on my machine looking for my nephew who lives 1500 miles away from me.  I am NOT on any accounts with him. I think these people pull contacts from places like Facebook.  They should be in prison.  

If someone owes you money, you need to talk to THEM.  I'm reporting this call to the BBB and the FCC.

I got the same call today from "Carrie Smith" looking for a Cheryl D. Brunsworth???
