In most states if a debt is 4 years old (except student loans, child support, or back taxes) it is beyond Statue of Limitations and another 3 years they can no longer report it.  A paid collection is just as bad as an account in collections.  If you decide to pay such bill make sure you GET IN WRITING that they will take the account off your credit report and not report it to the CRA.

With your spelling mistakes, and poor choice of grammar usage, the Judge would automatically award the Defendant any damages, including treble damages with the cause of action being your stupidity.

This is from Alliant Law Group, a collection Agency. They've had the wrong # for the last year. I keep returning their calls, give them my number & the operator says it must have been dialed in error.

they left message on my cell # saying, sandy please call virginia (at that #) and left a reference #.  when I called them back they said virginia probably typed in wrong #.

im receiving calls from this number stating that i owe a AT&T bill, i tld them that i am not working & will make some kinda partial payments. they told me that you need to pay the whole amount orelse this a/c would be reflected on my credit.. i tld them that its not possible, even though i managed somehow & paid them the whole amount of $289.26.. i had $800.00 in my bank account & i paid them over the phone by my debit card.. after a week when i went to encash some amount from my account i found that there were only $7.00 balance.. i had kept the maount in the bank to pay my daughters school fees & now i really dont understand wat should i do now.. i am so depressed just because of this scamble there is a fight between my & my wife for the school fees as we also received a notice from the school that if i dont pay the fees before time they wont allow my daughter to be there..
i just wanted to tell everyone that plz do not get along with alliant law group. they are nothing but fraudes...
i am surely gone file a law suite against them in some couple of days...

My phone service with AT&T was disconnected 5 months ago and the building was demolished since than AT &T claiming I had service till March 2010, the Elliant law group maybe scam need somebody to check thier credential.

Howie Law, PC Files Debt Collection Class Action

This week, Howie Law, PC and attorney John Howie, Jr. filed a federal lawsuit against two California debt collectors. The Defendants in the lawsuit are Bay Area Credit Services and Alliant Law Group which are both based in Northern California. The suit alleges that these entities attempted to collect interest on debt in violation of state and federal law. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Texas Debt Collection Act prohibit the collection of interest on a debt unless the agreement creating the debt expressly provides for interest or interest is allowed by law. The specific debt in this case arose from an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance transport. The AMR ambulance agreement did not make any mention of interest, and Texas law does not allow for interest to be recovered on this type of debt. The lawsuit asks that the Court to certify a class action against these Defendants on behalf of all individuals against whom these Defendants have attempted to collect interest or actually collected interest in violation of the law. It also seeks an injunction against these Defendants to prohibit them from collecting or attempting to collect interest in violation of the law. I also cancelled AT&T after years of complaining and it hasn't even been 30 days and I have been turned over to this Alliant Law Group and they are calling me on my cell. I quit paying AT&T an average of $400 a month and switched all of my services. There were overcharges that never got paid back to me associated with an 800 line I had cancelled back in 2001. They continued to charge me all these years. Every time I called about it I was told that there was an investigation but they never called me back with any results. For several years I have had faulty main lines (affecting my business line) that caused heavy static or disruption of service every time it rained. All AT&T did was put some black plastic, like a trash bag, over the junction up by the pole. My DSL service was so inconsistent and spotty that several times a week I would have to wait until after 10:00 or 11:00am to log on, only to lose the signal halfway through reading my e-mail! I had had enough and cancelled all of my AT&T services (cable, cell, business line, internet and extra fax line) to other providers after AT&T mis-applied a payment for my business line to my internet/Homezone account and disconnected my business line for nonpayment. After 30 years of paying these people their exhorbitant amounts and overcharges, they cut off my business line with out so much as a phone call. I wrote a letter to D. Peoples in West Chicago,IL because he/she was the only human being's name I have been able to find. They keep sending me letters telling me how much they miss me and offering $300 in gift cards. I think we all need to band together and file a class action lawsuit against both AT&T and Alliance Law Group.

Received a call from Alliant Law Group, aka, debt collectors. The women who called me was an idiot. I explained that I have paid approximately $500 towards the bill in question, and would not be paying anything further, as I am unemployed. Her lack (darn, wish I had her name) of accurate information was astounding.

I asked her to do what she needed to do, and not CALL ME AGAIN. She said I would hear from her bright and early tomorrow.  I used explitives, and hung up.

What a sorry way to make a living. Posing as an attorney. I am also reporting to FCC, and anyone else who has dominion over these folks.

The number she called me from was 800-214-1722.  When I called that number back, an "Alliant" representative answered. Apparently, they use several different toll free numbers.

Beware - they have caller ID.  I am fighting a work-related issue.  I normally transfer my phone lines to my cell when at lunch.  They called...the call transfered and they were able to get my cell on their database.  Since then they have called my cell non-stop but no one is there when answered nor any message ever left.  I called them back and had it removed.

By law a company collecting a debt must show PROOF(documentation)the debt is yours and show PROOF (documentation)they own your debt.  If the above is not met, and you have notified them of this, the debt becomes invalid and you can get it removed from your credit report....if you even care to do so.

But, as was mentioned above, once it "hits" your credit...fa-get-a-bad-it.

Download a "cease calling" letter to collection agencies form and fill it out and fax it to them. Once they receive the form, they may not call you. What will happen is they will sell the debt to someone else, who will then contact you again. You just repeat the same process until 4-6 years later, depending on debt. Once the statute of limitation expires, tell them to go to hell.

They also use the number (888)888-8941. Constantly calling leaving a message. Its ridiculous!

I got a letter from Alliant saying I had a past due balance with AT&T.
When I called, they couldn't find my AT&T account and told me to call AT&T.  AT&T said I have no balance due.  Seems like this Alliant is a fraud that expects people to mail in checks with no questions asked.
