I was thought it would be nice to send to my siblings back home while I'm away at college, so I jumped on it.  I get a call later telling me that I qualify for a better rate, and when I try to cancel it they tell me that I can't.  So I finally go home after a year only to figure out that they have been sending me two of each issue and charging me double.  I stopped payment to them and ignore the calls now.  I am debating trying to sue them for it, especially when they said I cannot cancel and then did that bs with the double issues.

Got a call saying my credit card wasn't going through or whatever. In th voicemail message thatvwas left "KELLY" did not even give me a full name for the company. I called back and someone on the line asked Mr for my account info. I had no idea what she was talking about. I told her my name and that I had not received any magazines and u didn't want the subscription on the first place because I don't read magazines like that. She told me hold on. I did.  Hen she played the tape of when I purchased the magazines. I asked what was the point of all that ans she said why did I agree to it. I told her, one her associates told ME to call a 1-800 number in two days to cancel because I never wanted them. She told me I was stupid and dumb for agreeing to pay for something I didn't want. Also, she implied that I was was some type of weak female for letting some man talk me into buying crap I didn't need. The conversation went on back and forth like this for a while til I told her that she can't bill a credit card that no longer works. She promptly said, "We'll see about that!" I told her she can go ahead. She told me then That my account would turned over to a question agency. I let her know That I didn't care if she gave my account to Obama, I STILL WAS NOT GONE PAY THEM SO WHATEVER!! And I hung up.

These people that call from this number are scam artist that have nothing to do but harass people.  They do not turn you into debt collectors.  They want to harass you until you give in and give them thier so called money.  If you tell them to send you everything in writing so your lawyer can review the contract they will stop harrassing you.  Or you just don't answer the phone, cancel your credit card and/or bank account and give them nothing.  Then if you have to change your phone number.  You can also go to the BBB in New York and turn in World Wide Publishers and Family Readers Club (they have the same address).  What these two so called companies do is give each other phone #'s and credit card #'s and scam the living crap out of people.  Go ot thess websites: http://www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/Worldwi ... ervice-13046309 and http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business- ... k-ny-131142008/

Have fun with these people they are worthless!!!!!

My Father received the same call offered a free gift / magazine in April 2009.  He received a bill for the "free" subscription in May, paid it (49.90), and promptly cancelled the subscription.  Fast forward to today July 2010, and he received his first Collection Service notice.  When I called the number on the invoice for 921.90, I was told they cannot help me until the account was paid up!!!!!  I told them I needed to put them on hold so I can record the conversation for the FBI, and the FTC, they immediately hung up!  I did some digging for the World Wide Preferred Publishing phone number (877 229 7830) and "Kelly" answered the phone.  I told her I wanted to record the conversation, and she said "she did not give permission".  I asked her to repeat all of the information, and connect me to the "sales man" that set up the account.  I never heard back from her.

I got sucked into this, if I recall correctly, because I was gifted I think Time magazine. This crap "company" called and offered an extension of the subscription for free and then a reduced rate or something of other on another title I liked. I was half alseep, began this thing, and it has been my terror ever since. I pay because when I don't I get calls and my husband thinks out credit will tank. If this is a scam, can they report me if I don't pay. It is the only thing making me pay. Who needs magazine subscriptions paid ahead to 2014! I don't know if I will still be alive then! Are there no lawyers ready to make a killing on taking these kinds of outfits down?! I have called the magazine publishers to complain and tell them I plan to stop payment and this "company" may call for a refund. I also said I care not what they do to my subscription because this whole situation has me turned off buying any single magazine and certainly any subscription for the rest of my life. Long live public libraries!

I had recieved a call from 877-229-7830 saying I had won these prizes from their VISA pull.  My winnings would be mailed to me as soon as I subcribed to their magazine for $49.90.  It was suppose to be a one time charge.  I'm still getting charged for these magazines I never recieved. Of course, I never got any of the prizes I was promised.  When these people called they asked to speak to me or my deseased ex-husband.  I hadn't carried that last name since 2001.  Where are these people getting their information?  In 2001 I didn't have a computer to get scamed on, so I wasn't that alarmed. Anyways I have to go and close my account today.  These people never answer their phones. Someone called once and after I told her I never got anything in the mail.  She told me their company had nothing to do with that.  They refuse to roll back the charges and then the lady hung up on me.  I'm pissed these people ripped me off at least $200.
