it is a scam. a computer asks for all your card info. if you have ever had a call from credit card companies or banks they ask secutiry questions, not full bank account info, and usually if you punch in a number or something enough times it transfers you to an actual person, which this number did not do. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION. p.s. its sunday, and my credit union does not text me when there is an issue, they call. oh, and did i meantion that the text says its an alert from Visa? i dont have any visa cards

I received the same call as Wendy, above. "WashingtonFirst.SMS@washingtonfirstbank.com. Call 1-877-229-9021, regarding this SMS Alert Notification." I called and they wanted me to enter my "card number." This seems to be a scam to get credit/debit card info.

I received a message from sms@cscu.net on 7/30/09 to call 1-866-625-6858 and verify my "telephone banking passcode."  Of course I knew it was a scam, and the number was disconnected.  I just wanted to ask them to stop sending messages, but texting doesn't work either.

Got text from this number. Same drill as the others. SMS alert@cscu.net/CreditUnionCardServices Call us at 1-877-9021 regarding recent voice mail left by customer service. Thank you. Figured it might be a scam, went online, found their "website", made no sense, as I am not a member! and then when checked reverse phone directory, found it was a landline registered to an individual, NOT a business. Then I googled the number directly and found the rest of you folks who have been subject to the scam a few days or weeks earlier. This is the second time a similar type SMS received. It annoys me, because I am not a text message person, though my wife is. But why would my credit union send me an SMS, when they don't need to, and that on a Sunday morning, early??? SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Of course it is a scam, and a pretty lame one at that. What makes me "mad as hell" is not that there are scammers in the world, it's that the government could shut them down immediately (you can't use the phone network anonymously and sending spam to cell phones has always been and continues to be illegal) but chooses not to. Yet another example of politicians ignoring the will of the people for their own financial gain.

The best thing to do is call your credit card company and give them the phone number and message.  THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION.  They even put up fake websites so when people Google it apprears real.

I recieved this too and called my card company.
