I get this too and now just block the number. They have a person who uses this number or had this number to rack up a credit debt but when I got the number they still think it's the same person. Needless to say I phoned my telephone company about this and they said they can't do nothing about pervious people on this number. So I dropped the company and got another different number.
Problem gone............for now . I had people who either use someone's number for credit or had this number and ran up a bad credit and never told them they don't use it no more. But then again why would anyone TELL a collector or credit company their new number after cheating and racking up bad debts ,idiots.

    Respectfully, I ask that you cease to contact me via phone or mail for the following reasons:

1.    The last activity on the account was in 1994 and there has been no reaffirmation since that time;

2.    Michigan?s statute of limitation on accounts such as this is six years:

?No person may bring or maintain any action to recover damages or sums due for breach of contract, or to enforce the specific performance of any contract unless, after the claim first accrued to himself or to someone through whom he claims, he commences the action within the periods of time prescribed by this section . . . . (8) The period of limitations is 6 years for all other actions to recover damages or sums due for breach of contract.?

Michigan Compiled Laws, § 600.5807.

    Therefore, it is my opinion and that any actions on your part to collect the alleged debt are time barred by the Michigan statute of limitations for such actions.

Look up the law for your state

I have received many calls from this number. The first 3 times I wasn't available so I tried to call back and it always said this number doesn't exist. I finally answered and the gentleman proceeded to tell me I better not hang up or he will keep calling and when I did, he kept calling. My fiance then got on the phone and the gentleman told him that they had to have the money right away, no matter what our situation was. I just got over cancer and haven't been able to work yet. This company is very unprofessional if they really are a company..

I have been receiving calls from this number so I finally answered it.  They asked for me by name. They then told me that I had over a $600 debt from a hospital that I have never been to in my life (900 miles away).  When I contested she just kept asking for my date of birth.  Wierd.  Sure looks like a scam to me.

Caleb--

Have your Mom and Dad handle this. This is a  collection agency and they are breaking the law by robo-dialing your cell phone and calling in the middle of the night. Tell them they can contact the FCC (Federal Communications Administration) and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and file complaints.

Yes...they have been calling me as well. I had a bill that was in error by a hospital who corrected it and forward me the documentation and credit letters. They look for old debts and try to scare people into paying for something that is not there. I think we need to call the media and expose them. I told them to send me the bill and yet I havent received anything. I want the media to set them up to expose them.

I agree.  I have been getting calls from them at 8 and 8:30 AM asking for someone who has not had this number for more than a year.  I have told them this over and over.  My number is on the "do not call list".  They just laugh at the do not call list and even though I have reported them to the "Do Not Call" nothing has been done!  Class action sounds awesome to me - time we give them a taste of their own medicine.

They just called asking for my son. Of course, I told them they had the wrong #. After I hung up I called right back  and an automated recording id'd them as Mireault Law Group LLC (Salem, MA). I tried searching them in the www.bbb.org site but they don't come up at all. Their site shows they're a Creditor's Rights Law Firm. The best advice I can give is that you DON'T ANSWER ANY "800, 888, 877 or 866" numbers. Check out each one on 800notes.com and find out who it is that's calling. Most of these businesses can be checked out on the www.bbb.org site. Most of them are "fly-by-night" companies that buy very old debts and try to collect.

Don't make the mistake of answering any of these and confirming you are the person they're asking for because you'll "reactivate" the account. You have to "disappear" completely off the radar to end these calls.
Good luck.

This number called my daughter (877)232-6445.  For sure I called them right back till I got an operator and told them that I had documentation on times of calling and harrassing my 14 year old daughter.  This number belongs to Mireaulc Group LLC and I would advise to file with the BBB, and Do Not Call Registry

+++++

Answered a call from this number (877-232-6445) today 10/9/12 - The woman on the phone asked for someone named Selene Guerrero. Informed her that she was calling a wrong number. She said "ok" and hung up. She did not identify herself or the company she was calling from.

I don't know who Selene Guerrero is and the caller obviously has a wrong number.

***I am documenting the call here for myself in case the company that called from this 877 number calls me again AFTER I have informed them that I don't know any person named Selene Guerrero and my number does not belong to her/wrong number.

Its from Harvard Collection Services.  HCS is known for buying old debt, and then using debt collectors from India to contact U.S. consumers. They?ve been in business for over 30 years and operate out of Chicago, Illinois.
The Better Business Bureau has granted Harvard Collection Services accreditation, and has given them an A+ rating. It?s an interesting rating considering that the debt collection agency has earned a whopping 71 consumer complaints about their collection practices.
NOTE - All debt collectors must abide by the rules and regulations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). If your not familiar with it, the following link will take you to the FAQ page which does a good job of laying everything out for consumers in plain english without a lot of the legal jargon.  HTTP://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm
