Received a message from a Canadian area code with a demand to call him back at 877-234-1834. Caller left a very threatening message. Identified himself as Stephen Ort. An ort is a table scrap.

Yes this is Global credit & collection inc. They also call under a 905-413-8774 number. They are ruthless. They keep harassing me. I have been told to let them know i refuse to speak about my financial matters to any collection agent. If they do not stop calling you will call the Police. This is harassment. Don't let them scare you.

Ok so I got a call from global saying they needed to talk to "me" they didn't ask for me by name they called several times in the past 2 weeks there saying they have a matter that needs my attention and just yesterday they said that if I dont contact them in 48 hrs they will do "something"

What makes me angry - they call early in the a.m. and wake me up!  GRRR

Got a call yesterday. She had my name and number and asked to verify my birthdate. Then said it didn't match what she had and she would need to confirms address. I wouldn't give it to her. She said it was TD global collections. Her name was Audrey Mitchell. When I called back to question the business name she wouldn't give me any info. I called TD and they said they have no record of this being affiliated with TD bank.

I got a call from them too stating TD canada trust ... I've never used their bank it's a total scam they even used the wrong last name. Scam!

Received  call. Said a name but undeciferable about non compliance for Global passed from TD Canada Trust.  called and was on hold and no one connected with call.   Will not be calling again given what I have read here.

This Company is a Collection Agency with no real interest in who they are calling, some poor sob has a major debt issue, and all different collection agencies call me looking for him, this one tried to deny that they where a collections agency, even after the lovely voice mail they left me confirming their "collections" intentions

The truth right here. I have been using this method for years with marvelous success. Never hear from them again.

I have been getting calls from this number for a few months. They are from  Global collections. This is the message they leave.
Hi this message is for Mr Darren ..smith(?) this is Dr Russell's office calling you from Global. We are contacting you today regarding your personal business matter that needs your immediate attention. If you return this call in the next 24 hours. We're able to offer you a limited opportunity an option that may have not been available. Previously it-agent(?) standing by ready to help you please call us at 18772341834. Please be patient. Why would a doctors office be calling from a collection agency! That was a text message they sent to be! I just blocked there # on my phone and ignore them! The number they call you with has no name and is also totally different to the one for you to call bacl

I just got this call and they asked for my husband by name. I asked to take a message and got his name and extension and asked what company he was from and he said "Global" and then I asked what it was about and he said.."uh, well, uh due to the sensitivity of this matter I can't relay that information" and I said well I'll give him the message but he probably won't call you back because you sound like a telemarketer and he said "I can assure you we're not telemarketers"
So..we're not going to call him back based on this fishy business and the comments on this website! I didn't get a good feeling from talking to this guy.

Same issue as WL EXACTLY  I have reported to SCAMBUSTERS

We keep getting calls from 1.877.234.1834 ext. 2780 (Fred, I believe).  The name he's leaving the messages for isn't even correct.  They call what seems to be every other day.  We never pick up.  Don't have any debt issues...same type of message being left as some of the posters, not in compliance, urgent issue to discuss, can resolve voluntarily, etc.  I called the number back pretty much to say stop harrassing us and stop leaving messages, you've got the wrong person and to pretty much F off, but the extension left on the message isn't even valid!!

The company is Global Credit. they keep calling for one of our association members even though I repeatedly tell them he doesn't work in the office and I've passed on their information to the member.

When I tell them all I can do is pass on the information and it's up to the member to call it doesn't matter. Bad enough they try to harass people but to do it with out office as well.

I received this phone call several times, including this morning. I called back from the phone number and the guy insist me to provide a "reference n umber". Which did not mentioned in the cell phone. Then I just googled this number and look at what I got, it is a scam!

I was contacted today by ?Chet McMillan? claiming to be with ?Global? needing to speak to me about ?an important business matter.? He left a voice mail on my work phone and called me on my cell phone. He left a call back number 877-234-1834.

When I spoke to him I was suspicious because he would not tell me what the business was about, and asked that I ?verify? my address and date of birth. I refused to do so. I asked him how he had got my cell phone number?he claimed it was from LinkedIN, which is not true as my cell phone number is not on my LinkedIn profile. He insinuated that he was acting for a creditor, and in response to my refusal to provide any personal details, referred me to his supervisor ?Mr. Orton?, who again tried to obtain personal information. In response to my questions he said they were acting for TD, which is highly improbable. At one point in response to my queries about who Global was ?Chet? gave me an address of 1490 Denison St., Markham, ON.

I told them that if they had any legitimate business with me they should send a letter to either me or my lawyer, which they declined to do.

This episode seems suspicious?perhaps an attempt to obtain the remaining personal details needed for identity theft.

Just got a call from 18772341834 and this is certainly a scam. No legitimate company will call you at 7am more than once. I am rounding up some guys to give this 'company' a visit. Anyone interested?

Got the same call, my wife called them back and they would not give her any info.

Some guy from the number 1 877 234 1834 left a voice mail stating "This is about your personal matter. You must call us back." Funny because there are 5 of us in the house and the guy never onces states a name, just says YOU. This has happened a few times before today.

I have same sort of calls on daily basis. They are debt collectors. Why they call my family ? None of us ever had any debts.How to stop this rubbish? Can legal actions be taken against the harassment? Or just continue ignoring them?

Do not give any personal information to anyone from this number 877-234-1834.  They initially called my home and my wife answered.  They did not identify themselves and asked for me by first name (lets say my name is John).  My wife said that I was not home and that I was at work.  She asked what the call was about and if she could relay a message.  The caller said it was crucially important that they reach me and that they needed to talk to me about some important business that must be resolved.  So my wife got the phone number and specific extension number of this person and called me at work.  She gave me the info and I called right-o-way.  First off... usually when you call a company and get the general voice mail box, it will usually say the company name.   This general answering machine just says...  "Please dial the extension number you wish to reach"  So I knew this smelt fishy right from the start.   So I pressed the extension number and got the caller who called me.  I said my name and said that you had just called my house and talked to my wife.  He then said "Yes JOHN SMITH I did call!"...  so he had my full name.   He then proceeded to say that he had urgent business to discuss with me and that it was crucial that we discuss this now.   I said "OK what is this all about?".   He then said...  "Before I can discuss the urgent matter at hand...  I need to confirm your date of birth".   I immediately said "NO!" and asked again what this was all about.   He then repeated the same lines...  that it was urgent and we need to discuss the business at hand.   He then pressed on asking again for me to confirm my date of birth.   I again told him NO and told him that I was not going to divulge any personal information until he tells me what this is call was all about.  After about 5 minutes of going back and forth of him asking for my birth date and me saying "NO way in hell am I giving you my date of birth".   He then tried a different question...  he asked me.  "Well can you at least tell me the MONTH you were born in?".   I laughed and said "NOPE!".   I then starting asking him questions...   I asked him what the company name that he was calling from..  He would not answer until I pressed a little more...  He finally said "Global Credit".... Notice he did not say "Global Credit and COLLECTIONS".  After another few minutes of him asking me for my date of birth and me again saying no.  He then asked if I was the JOHN SMITH that used to live in "Etobicoke".   I then said the following to him "Let me see if I understand you correctly, you are asking me if I am the John Smith who has once lived in Etobicoke?"  He then replied "Yes!".   I told him the truth...  I have never ever lived in Etobicoke and that if they are looking for a John Smith who used to live in Etobioke that they had the wrong guy.  I told him to not call me ever again and hung up.    As a safe guard I called all my financial institutions to discuss the call I got and to check my accounts to see if there was any "funny" transactions that my have occurred.  All of my financial institutions said to me the exact same thing.   You will never ever get a phone call from any financial institutions asking you for personal information..  then only time they will ask for personal information is if YOU call them first to ask questions about your account...  then they have to confirm the caller (who you are) by law.  I know my financial situation and I know my bills are paid and that I have no outstanding issues.   There would be no reason for a collection agency to contact me.  I have seen many posts about this company and they seem to be fishy.   Lots of people have been scammed by this company.  Again...  do not give any personal information to these guys.

It's a Robot Dial for Global Collections who rep, among others, TD Visa.  Four weeks ago, I finally settled my long overdue with them (for 50 cents on the dollar) but...those pesky calls keep coming.

Called them back tonight - I gave him my number and name, then the called turned into.....

Him:  "Ah...yes sir, we're calling to confirm that the account has been settled in full and...ah...your credit score will reflect that shortly and....ah..."
Me:  So...we agree that the account is settled.
Him" "Ah...yes....yes it is"
Me:  So why do you keep calling every two days?
Him:  We won't call again....ah...
Me:  That's what you said 48 hours ago....and 48 hours before that....
Him: Ah.....well.....ah...
Me:  Talk to you again in two days.   OH....did I mention that I'm recording this call for quality assurance?
Him:  You're....WHAT?
Me:  Have a nice night.

Yes, they must be the dregs of collection agencies.
For any out there with credit card debt, first do not acknowledged any debt, then ask for a copy of the "supposed" contract(it must have 2 sig's for it to be valid) then ask them to prove lose.(they can't as the "credit" just appeared under your name & visa/mc acct #)
All non-department store credit cards, are fiat currency at it's finest. Which means the credit/$$ never existed before you accepted the card, no real money was involved.
Know your rights

Calls up in Canada and put us on a recorded message. Rather rude saying that something serious has now to be handled by him (the caller) and that we should call back with a reference number provided. Screw him! Dirty marketing method.

I received several calls from these guys..
When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).  
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.
