Receiving no less that 3 calls per day for at least a month. Don't have credit cards and bills are up to date. Blocked the calls and they continue. Not planning to answer. Contacting the Atty General's Office for action. My number is on a do not call list and has been verified as current on the list.

This is now used by Midland Credit Management who has called 4 times a day for a month and every 2 weeks they change the # they call from. Today was the 1st time from this #. When you call back it is Midland Credit Management

To resolve Federal Trade Commission charges, one of the nation?s largest debt collectors will pay $1.75 million for allegedly making repeated telephone calls to collect from the wrong person, to collect the wrong amount, or both. The settlement is the second largest civil penalty obtained by the FTC in a debt collection case.

?Debt collectors had better make sure their information is accurate, or they could end up paying a big penalty,? said David Vladeck, Director of the FTC?s Bureau of Consumer Protection. ?There is no excuse for trying to collect debt from someone if you can?t confirm that they actually owe it.?

According to the FTC?s complaint, between 2006 and at least 2008, Allied Interstate, Inc. continued collection efforts even after consumers told the company they did not owe the debt, without verifying the accuracy of the disputed information. Allied is a Minnesota corporation that works out of offices in the United States, Canada, India, and the Philippines. The company also allegedly made improper harassing phone calls to consumers, using abusive language or calling many times a day for weeks or months, sometimes hanging up when the calls were answered. In addition, the complaint charges that Allied made repeat calls to third parties seeking to locate a consumer, revealed alleged debts to third parties without the consumers? consent or court permission, and threatened legal action against consumers it did not intend to take. The complaint alleges that these practices violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act.

You have to get a real lawyer, and start tracking all their calls, and if legal in your state, record them.  It is a $1000 per call fine for harassment which is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Got calls from this number daily on my cell phone.  finally answered and the woman asked for jennifer, itold her that she was calling my cell phone and my name was not jennifer.  that was 3 days ago and so far no more calls.  sounds like a collection agency to me.

I have been receiving calls from 1-877-236-1083 on a daily basis. Often its twice a day, and no one speaks.

There was an electronic voicemail left by this number on my cell phone.  There is NO CLIFFORD YOUNG.  How many phone numbers does ths company have to call to try to get a hold of this person.  STOP CALLING MY PHONE YOU IDOTS - HE GOT AWAY!!!

Calls 1 or more times daily - no one on line when picked up. 100% nuisance especially when traveling and call gets forwarded to my cell phone.

Keeps calling ALL day long, every single day, and never leaves a message. I finally looked up the number and was surprised it is a collection agency. We have no unpaid bills. But at one time we had another agency mistakenly call here looking for someone we didn't even know. It took a long time to get rid of them, but they finally stopped calling. I guess I will have to take action of some sort on this one as well. It is very frustrating!

This number keeps calling me but there isn't anyone there when I answer.  They call me 10-15 times per day.  How can I remove them from calling me?

Are debt collectors required to send statements upon request? If not, how do you know when the debt is cleared?

Called asking for my EX-husband's EX wife!  How did they get this number..hmmmmm.

Dave, I just wanted to thank you.... I tried your approach and it really worked.  The Customer Service Rep person on the other end was very nice and cooperative.  She explained that it takes at least two days to delete my number from their records for the person they are trying to reach (Muekresh S.) Goes to show that being nice and pleasant really cany get you somewhere (smile)

This phone number continues to appear on my caller ID and i would like to report it and have them stop calling. The caller continues to ask for Michael Sanchez and I continue to inform the caller that Michael does not live here and have told the caller for the past month or more. Please stop calling.

All of my calls just say 800 Service.  I have stopped answering these calls and just disconnect the call before it stops ringing.  I checked my list and this is only the second call from them so I suppose they will start calling a whole bunch of times.

I don't know what to so this people stop calling, I have told them that my lawyer will call them and tha I'll sue them,yet they keep calling.

Did not answer call and I have never heard of these people. How lucky can I get, a new one who wants to call day and night.  I have a list of these calls that just doesn't stop.  Why isn't there an option for Call Type that reads SCAM.

I am getting a call from this number 877-236-1083. I refuse to answer it so I let voicemail answer. They don't leave a message. I call back and no one answers or a busy signal. They call on my call phone at least twice or three times a week and sometimes more.

Have had calls from this number for the past month.  They ask for a person who does not live at this address. Have also started getting calls from 877-267-8895 which I have learned is another collection agency Zwicker and Associates.  We got one call so far from 336-542-5842 which after asking some questions found out they were Legal Services and the contact person is Ms. Jones. Looking on line found out they too are a collection agency out of NC.

I receive calls from this number each day, only to have them hang up on me when I answered. I did a search for their number and found this site. I believe they are a debt collector company. I called the number, a man answered "Allied Interstate" and asked me for "Shelly Denison" I have never heard of her and he said he would remove my number from their list.

This number calls me daily.  They never leave a message.  I have answered on many occassions and you can hear someone on the other line but they never says anything.  I would like this number to stop calling me.

First time they called several weeks ago asking for my Son.I told them he does not live here nor has he ever.  He uses  a cell phone, but I wouldnt give his number without knowing who is calling and why.  The caller said "LA Interstate"  I told him I still would not give the number without a reason.  I also said not to call my number anymore, however, at least once a day 877-236-1083 comes up on my caller ID

In my case, had a positive experience with these people.  Had 2 missed calls on my home phone for 2 consecutive days, with no message left.  Called the number back and was immediately greeted by a very pleasant young man who answered "Hello, thank you for calling Allied Interstate, how may I help you?" (no foreign accent at all)  I simply stated "I have 2 missed calls from this number, and was just wondering how I may help you?" - He said "Actually, we are trying to get ahold of Kathleen G." (I purposely left out the last name to protect her privacy online)

I simply explained that my name is David R. and that i've only had this number since April of this year, and that i've been receiving phone calls from several places looking for this Kathleen.  I also informed him that I have reverse looked up my phone number and that she is in fact one of about 5 people who have had this number in the past.  I stated (truthfully) that unfortunately, a Google search didn't turn up any current contact info for her, or I would gladly provide it.  The gentleman apologized profusely and told me "I will do the best I can to remove your number from our list, but since the entire system is automated it may not work, if so please feel free to call us back and let us know - you know how computers are." and made a joke about them only being as good as the person who wrote the call center software.

He then went on to explain that they are seeing alot of this happening, as telephone providers are recycling numbers faster than ever these days, and he admitted that their records are not always up to date and sometimes all they have to go on is information provided by a 3rd party, or the internet.  At that point, he told me to have a wonderful day, and reminded me once again that if I got another call, to immediately call them back and have them put the phone number removal request through again.

Also, their calls were not excessive, they called once on 7/10/12 at 12:15PM EDT, and once on 7/11/12 at 8:50AM.

All in all, like I said, a very positive experience.  I've been harrassed more by "Arthritis Info", a place trying to sell "Kathleen" arthritis meds.

If you are a debt collection agency, I have no idea why you are calling me.  I have no debts and pay all my bills monthly.  You never leave a  message; therefore,  I can assume you are simply harassing me and/or this is a case of mistaken identity.  Please do not call again or I will be forced to take legal action. This is definitely a case of harassment.

These people called me last week, did the same" please hold for a message" - man, if you call me, don't put me on hold - how rude!  After a 2nd call, I called them back, got a person on the phone and told them they have the wrong name, that this person they are looking for used to have my phone number. She was nice and said, ok, no problem, we will remove you from our call list. That was a week ago.  Guess who called me again tonight?  B*****ds.

We recently moved and starting using a new phone number.  I've been getting calls from these people ever since.  I say hello and there is no one on the line.  Finally I called the number back and got a real person.  They are looking for someone I had never heard of.  The lady I spoke with said she would remove our number from their list.  We'll see if it actully works...
