I got a call from an unknown number. VM stated it was a man named James. He said he had received a formal complaint in reagrds me writting bad checks. He stated he needed to verify my home or work address so that they may formaly serve me throught the county district court. He also stated this was my official notification that I would be served. He also stated I had a right to contact the plaintif before being served in order to try and resolve this and gave me a case # and said I could call him (James) at 877-240-2046. He wished me luck at the end of the voicemail.

Has anyone been served with any law suits?

SCAM!!!! It is a scam. My called id showed a area code of 253 with Med Care Equip on the name.

I called, no answer. Just voicemail. I didnt leave one and I suggest you dont either. If you live in WA. Call the non-emergency line and file a police report. I have in the past with other scams...

When they call back tell them you filed a report and to stop calling. If they have a summons for you, they will try to serve it if it is legit.

They called and left a message threatening check fraud too.  Wasn't sure what they were talking about but now since I seen it was for a payday loan from the previous post I know what it is.  I had a payday loan from some online company back in 2006 or 2007.  Their phone call was really harassment and I don't believe it is legal for a collection agency to act like that.  They can take me to court if they like,,,, which they won't.  Said good luck to me in his message.  I say good luck getting blood out of a turnip.

Someone called me from 877-240-2046 and said the same thing but, called from an unknown number had my soc and address threatened to get me with fraud for an upaid debt by ace in 2008. I told them I wanted a receipt and they wouldn't provide me with anything. I don't mind paying my debt but, they wouldn't give me any info! Said I couldn't check up on them I had to pay them now or I'm saying that we need to go to court. WHAT DO I DO? They ended up hanging up on me after I put them on hold to look them up. They said they were from the Law office of USC and I can't find that anywhere
