A letter in the mail, addressed to me by name, from "Program Headquarters (SPD)" saying that I'd purchased my car 21 months ago (off by a year) and that my warranty was expired. It is a complete load because my car, a still-practically-new Kia, is under manufacturer's warranty for ten years from purchase date.

I'm a little more peeved than usual because they address me by my real name, not a generic "customer" or some other bogus catchall term. Trying to bilk money out of me with this fake expired warranty scam, only on paper and not a prerecorded phone call I can just hang up on.

Letter asks for the car's VIN (which they would already have if this was at all legit).

I am so glad I had came accross the site about this scam cause I also got a letter in the mail months ago didn't respond cause had no time. But I just got it again in the mail and thought i would check it out. I wish someone would get to the bottom of this company or scam artist and put an end to it.

This is BS. Don't respond to the letter. This is the same scam that's been going around on the news. When they called I said, "You know this is a scam and you're everywhere on the news, right?" and she said, "Ma'am, that's not us." and she hung up and I haven't gotten a call since.

Today I got a letter from
Dealer Warranty Program
SPD
300 North Tucker
St Louis, MO 63101
1-877-241-1193

The text is the following:
"You purchased your vehicle 58 months ago. Your vehicle factory coverage is expired or is about to expire. This is your SECOND reminder to extend your vehicle bumper to bumper coverage. Your name has been pre-selected for this 0% financing plan and is valid for your vehicle only." They basically want me to call 877-241-1193 to purchase their vehicle coverage.
Note: 1)58 months ago - that is almost 5 years ago - I had neither a driver's licence nor a car; 2)I never got a FIRST reminder from these guys
Sounds like a scam...

Here's their web site www.advancedmethod.net/demos/gormanweb/

There have been many articles about companies located in the St. Louis area being under investigation by State's Attorney Generals.

I get calls 3 to 6 times a week, not matter how nasty I am with them, they continue to call, in fact one told me I can't hide from them. If I change my number, they will have a week a later.
