READ THE THREAD BEFORE POSTING. Who they are and what they are calling you about has already been explained.

When you lodge invalid complaints against genuine call centers, it just means the authorities end up learning to ignore all complaints, including the valid ones against slimy telemarketers and scammers. I get to deal with the fallout of that same syndrome in the email world, and it makes LEGITIMATE business very difficult for us, and unsatisfactory for you, the customer (you complain that emails you want don't get through... that's cause people claim spam on legitimate emails).

Alliance iComm is a call center and what they are doing is customer service to make sure your purchases and orders have been completed. Even if you got an invoice right away saying everything is fine it may not be and what they are doing is verifying this for the company they are contracted to.

This is not a scam, they are not asking for your information they are verifying your information they already have to make sure your got what you paid for / signed up for.

If you do not want to have a customer service agent potentially contact you never give out your phone number. And if a customer service agent can not reach you they will call multiple times, they are required to by the contract with the company they are calling on behalf of.

As for calling the Ontario Provincial Police you may do so if you like but the only thing you will be doing is either blocking a real emergency call or bothering a desk agent, part of your contracts with the companies that Alliance works with says you will receive follow up contact to verify everything is fine. Receiving a call you have agreed to is not something the police will tend to try and charge the caller with. As for a do not call list, these again do not apply to something you have agreed to.

If you have issues with multiple calls and no voice mail left contact Alliance , the agents should be leaving a VM saying who they are and what it is about. With any call center don't expect to much luck getting people on the phone use their contact e-mail and give them details of when it happened and who you are (this type of call center handles thousands of calls a day, you cant really expect them to know who you are with out additional information) if you want your issue actually seen, if it is a valid issue it will be corrected.

Asked for my DH by name claiming he'd bought something but they couldn't say what. Asking to "confirm account number". Phishing for cc?

I received a call from this number while out at lunch. No voicemail was left.

Keep getting calls from them. When I answer no one is there. Call back and they want more info. Sounds like a complete scam.

This is a telemarketer the best I can tell. I have received numerous phone calls from this number on my cell phone. And by numerous I mean 5 in a 15 minute time span. I have called and asked them to remove me from the call list. (more than once) Of course, the number you call leads to a recording. I have answered the call and no one is on the other end. When I don't answer the call, they fail to leave a voice mail and hang up, only to call back within minutes. More than a little irritated!!

just got this call within minutes after adding an acct to online banking.. I don't answer calls I do not recognize..

Got a call and just went with the flow.  They verified my address and purchase amount, I just confirmed, didn't provide any new info.  They did have my address and the correct purchase amount and the terms of the financing for the furniture that I bought, so I'm not too concerned.  They did say they were from Alliancesomething calling on behalf of CitiFinancial, that is the account it was with.  Their only other questions were about was the furniture OK (making sure I wasn't planning to return it, I guess) and whether or not the store provided me with the APR disclosure.  I guess I'll see if I get any more calls, hopefully not.

Second call in a matter of days. Picked it up this last time, but no one on the line.

I check this site first and didn't bother picking up these useless calls.  They didn't leave a message.  

I read the above comments and this could be to verify info. for the sofa set purchased last month on my newly opened Brick Credit Card?  However, I've already received my invoice in the mail with the proper address, not sure why they would call now?

A suspect some form of scam and would noever answer this call.

This number was calling me 5x/day. I finally answered the phone and they wanted to "verify my information" to make sure I got my delivery e.t.c. ( I haven't had a delivery in months, so I knew right away this was a scam.)

I had already read the previous posts on this site, so I knew this number was sketchy. I told the guy everything is fine and that I do not need to verify any information.

I tried to block this number with Telus, but they said they could not.

How did they get my number?
