Keeps calling, no one on the other end.

I HAVE CALLED THIS NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEY APPOLOGIZE AND SAY THEY WILL PUT ME ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. THYE HAVE BECOME A ROYAL PAIN IN THE BUTT. I WOULD NOT EVER CONCIDER USING THEIR SERVICE AND IF THERE IS ANY GROUP LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THAT COMPANY I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TESTIFY AGAINST THEM.

they say it takes 72 hours to be removed form their call list. i have been calling them for over a month asking them to remove me from their call list and the only response i get from them is "it takes 72 hours" i think its al they know how to say!!!!!!! how the heck can we report these guys they call the office over and over when vbaluable calls can be coming through!

A few seconds of silence, then some very annoying hold music (wtf) and a heavily accented voice saying something about an online business listing. Which anyone with basic knowledge of Google can find out is a scam. Telling these people to remove your number is fruitless; they continue to call back and pretend not to understand when you tell them no.

Wow - this number has called my phone 7 times in the last 24 hours.  Seriously people?!?  

On a side note, we had someone like this call about 3 years ago about a yellow pages listing, I answered their questions but I certainly did not sign up for them to build me a website (thats what I do for a living).  They billed me a few months later and then played back my recorded voice saying 'yes' to their question ('do you acknowledge you want this service?').

They have called our office at least 3 times a day for the last week.  When I'd answer there would be a click and then I'd be disconnected.  I called them to find out who they were.  They are a marketing company called zipweb.com.  It is a directory for local buisnesses and they want to list you on their site.  I asked to have our # deleted, he did and apologized for the inconveinence.  They use auto dialers, they call multiple people at once, when one of the lines answeres it drops the other calls.

I keep getting these calls from Search Marketing Services wanting me to sign up for a "web Listing  Service". It's a complete hustle. Free the first month, 49.99 everymonth there after. A few of the callers have stated that they are located in Encino Ca. I have explained to everyone of the callers that I do not own the business any longer, I am on the dnc list, that my state does not allow auto-dialers and to take me off their list. I have discovered that they have a company policy of _not_ hanging up on you. Their phones may not even allow the caller to hang up due to the auto-dialer. I tell them that they are wasting my time and that I shall waste theirs. We have long talks about my back problems or how my battery in my truck died... you know life stuff. The second to the last call, the lady got snippy with me and I told her that I was not going to hang up unless she told me she loved me with all her heart. It took her 15 minuets before she caved in to my demands...lol. As an ack of revenge, if it's an auto-dialer, tell the caller to hold and put the phone down for 15 minuets. This will tie up the line and trap the caller.

RECEIVED YET ANOTHER CALL FROM THESE IDIOTS.  I ASKED TO BE TAKEN OFF THEIR CALL LIST THE LAST TIME THAT THEY CALLED - LAST WEEK.  HEAVY PHILLIPEEN ACCENT MALE CALLER.  ASKED FOR ME BY NAME.
I KEPT HIM ON THE LINE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE...HOPEFULLY THEY WON'T BE CALLING OTHER BUSINESSES WHILE I STALL THEM.

Don't these people ever learn that we don't want anything to do with them.It sure does a lot of good to get on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

I do not answer calls that do not identify themselves on Caller ID, nor do I return calls if no message is left. Mine is a home-based business and these calls come in three or more times per day, seven days a week. What can I do to get them to stop?

sounded like a boiler room call, many voices in background. Caller did not say who they were but asked who they called.  When I asked who they were the caller replied  some bogus name with low cost call network or something about calls. I hung up after she asked me if it was ok to talk to me about whatever they were selling.

Boss picked up the phone and no one was there. I called the number - it's an internet yellow pages advertising thing. You know, one of those sites that list your business but no one ever sees it...

I told her we answered and no one was on the line and she said they have been having problems like that. I told her to solve our problem by removing us from their call list. She did not have a foreign accent.

I get at least 5 calls a day 6 days a week, 2 rings only from this number.  I always google phone numbers I  don't recognize and glad I did on this one.  Check this complaint site out http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/zip-web-c160111.html  there is a post from a past employee of zipweb and he lists options you can take if scammed by this company.  What got me angry is (quoted from complaint website)"Yes, the calls are from overseas in a Phillipine call center and the wording in the script is built to make the customer pay attention to the agent's accent and miss the dialog."  - you don't realize you have been tricked into accepting their service.  I will not answer any call from this number.

The name of the company is ZipWeb  I spoke with Laura at customer service pretending that I was a customer.  She bought it and that is how I got the name.  I hope that helps someone.

CALLS EVERYDAY AT ALL HOURS AND NEVER ANSWERS TOO

I never noticed it until I read Iris's note.  They do call at the same time every day - 2 minutes after the hour, 3-6 times daily.

They call, let it ring twice, then hang up.  I am a senior citizen with health problems and I don't get to the phone in 2 rings.  They have already called 3 times today.  This has been going on for weeks.

I got a cal form them and called back.  they were looking to talk to a compnay i do own - its a holding corp only with no employees or operations - so I guess they can call, even thoguh they are calling a residential line.  the company is ZIP Web

15 calls in the past week. Picked up twice.  First: they asked me to "update professional profile" for Google ad. Told them I wasn't interested and hung up. 14 calls later, I picked up today (7/13): told them "Do not ever call again. I'm on do not call list." Other details, as per above descriptions. We shall see....

6-26-09 Hang up call, about the fifth this week from this number.  Reporting to the FCC does nothing and the Do Not Call list does not work.  TIME TO CHANGE THE LAWS AND STOP TELEMARKETERS.  We have the Internet and we don't need pests calling thousands of times per year.  Write your federal and state legislators and tell them your story.  My list of pests is below.  Thousands of calls over the past year and that is just from the 182 I recorded and I did not want even one call.  I will never buy a thing or do a thing based on an unwanted call.  If I want something, I shop for it.  Print the list and put by your phone and don't answer.  TIME TO CHANGE THE LAWS.

6-24-09 Time to CHANGE THE LAWS.  I am on Do Not Call list and it does no good.  See 182 telemarketing calls below that I listed in just the last year.  I delete a lot of them from Caller I.D. because I don't have time to look them up on sites like this so there might have been double the amount of numbers if I listed them all.  I received multiple calls from most of them, some of them for over a year, so the list represents thousands of calls when I don't want even one call.  I will NEVER buy anything or do anything in response to a phone call.  Yet I got thousands of calls in just one year. I see the other responses are similar. Answer and nobody is there.  Don't answer and no message. Tell them you are on the Do Not Call list and they laugh. If you are writng to this site, you already use the Internet for shopping and don't need phone calls for things you don't use or want.  TIME TO CHANGE THE LAWS AND SHUT DOWN TELEMARKETING.  No more whining to sites like this. Write you legislators, both state and federal.  In the meantime, print my list and put it next to your phone and don't answer.

What a great idea! -- THANK YOU!  Nothing like calling them back, repeating their name, and informing them that THEY are being recorded.  I also advised them that I was on the National Do Not Call List...  They were ALL too eager to remove my name -- We'll see...

These people call my home constantly. I don't own a business, this is a residence. I finally answered, got "on hold music" then a foreign guy asked for the owner. I said that this was a home not a business. I told him not to call back again and hung up. They called back again in five minutes. They just will NOT stop and I don't need this hassle.

Three phone calls today from this number. We did not answer them. They did not leave messages. I didn't notice that they were at the same time after the hour until I read someone else's post. Ours were all at 16 or 17 minutes after the hour. This is a home line, not a business line. It seems that calls to many of the other people here were to businesses. I followed someone else's advice and made a report to the FCC. I believe it was this link, but you can look it up to make sure: http://www.ereport.fcc.gov

#1 If there is a blank-pause for a few seconds when you first answer the phone, you can bet it is a 'boiler-room' type of caller. The pause is an auto device that 'tells them your're there' - otherwise if you don't answer, they never pick up their phone.

#2 If you'd simply, but politely say "hold on" as if you were either going to another handset or to get 'the owner' but instead leave them on hold for quite awhile I assure you THEY won't be calling back.

#3 Really, back to #1, if there is a blank 'open-line' for a few seconds when you pickup (you should know what it is), hang up as soon as you hear the click where they are picking up.

I too get these calls and many others which take alot out of my day. However since this is a business line THEY ARE ALOWED TO CALL. The Do Not Call list does not pertain to business numbers only residential.

So being a business you have to tell them to take your number off of their list.

If its a residential line...I would let the caller know its a residential line and tell them to take you off of their list and if they don't you will contact the FCC in which the fine is $11,00 per call

Just do what I always do.... tell them the owner only works on weekends :)

Then they can have fun talking to our answering service lol
