I saw this number in my caller ID phone. I did not answer but tried calling the number later.  I got a response saying approximately this: "The person you're trying to reach is not taking calls at this time. Please try again later."  

There was no identification of company when I dialed the number.

Got 2 calls from them.  Did not get to the phone in time for either.  Tried calling the number back but it says call cannot be completed as dialed.

THIS  NUMBER CALLS ME AND THEY SAY  "  WE ARE  USA TODAY BUSINESS DIRECTORY"   ----   JUST  HANG  UP.   NO  COLLECTION  AGENCY  .  DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LISTENING TO THEIR SPEACH THAT THEY RATTLE OFF .......     IF  THEY GET YOU TO SAY THE WORD "YES"  OR  "THAT WILL BE FINE"  .....  THEN THEY WILL SEND YOU A BILL FOR PUTTING YOU IN SOME INTERNET DIRECTORY!  JUST HANG UP.....  DONT  SPEAK AT ALL THAT WAY THEY CANNOT TRICK YOU.

Oh yeah.  And it works great to fax those terrorists!  I have my attorney working on this too and I sent a complaint to the terrorists in our whitehouse but they probably won't do anything as they like to terrorize us anyway.  Thanks for your information and help!

The number is a fax number so I just pull up all the complaints on the internet, made copies, placed a cover sheet with instructions to remove my number and faxed a BUTT load of pages to irritate them.

One more note to remember. Antime you call an 800 or 877 number, your phone number will come up on either their computer or caller ID, even if it is unlisted or blocked. I would not try returning these calls so you won't confirming your number with them so they can keep calling. Even if you are on the do not call list and you do business with a company, lets use Sears as an example, that means they can call you for telemarketing. So just hang up on these numbers.

They also call using the number 877-244-9179. I answered they hang up. Thank goodness for a great feature on the Panasonic cordless 6.0 DECT phones. It has a call block feature that if you enter the number and they call, they will get a fast busy signal. Your phone will ring once and read 'Call Blocked' on the caller ID screen. It works for me since they have been calling the past couple of days. Google the 9179 number and check it out. Same scam.

I got a phone call today at work from this number. It was a woman with a heavy accent and she said she's from "EBiz" and our company has been chosen to be featured on google and a few other sites. She then said she needed to verify our address and co. info. I just said "no thanks" and hung up. I hope they don't call back...

They called us here at our business and told us the same thing that everyone here has already posted, they wanted to feature us online and blah blah. He had a heavy accent and did not like that I was the only person I was letting him talk to. I caller IDed the number and came across this, hereafter telling the man that I was not interested in anything he was offering and that any services would be directly rejected.

Person who called said he calls for the yellow pages and wants to publish our name and phone number.

Called my business and said they were google. I am going to let google know about this scam, don't give any info to them at all. When you try the no it does not allow you to call back.

I can tell you exactly what they are after. First, they try and snow you into thinking they want to put your website at the top of google and other search listings and they try to get your confidence by confirming your name, address, phone number, etc... and THEN they try to slip in a little question: "What is your Tax ID," which is often the same as your Social Security Number. Of course, once they have this, they can do all kinds of harm. All you have to do is say, "Put me on your do not call list" and they politely say okay and hang up.

These people call daily.  I have to pay for those calls and there's no way to call them back.

Called said they were Google and we were the featured business of the month in the zip code search and was verifying the address.Said she had a free trial  and I told her I wasn't buying, approving or requesting anything. She hung up. How can you get off these lists?

They are very sneaky.  They say your site will be the featured site of the month and want to update your info.  After you do this, and they keep saying it is a free service, they try to slip by you that you will be billed if you do not cancel after the month is over.

We have our number listed in the do not call gov listing and still continue to get these rude callers DAILY !! I am so tired of them, and everyday I say "no we are not interested please remove my number from your calling list Thank you" and they still continue to call. I guess I need to turn them in...

These people call from the 877-244-9197 number but you cannot return a call to this number. Their actual number is 800-510-6061 Their business name is Local Connect and they are a scammer/hacker group trying to get you to agree to an advertising campaign by NOT cancelling an agreement you didn't enter into. Call the 800 number I listed above and tell them to remove you from their call list. They aren't so rude when they realize you've tracked them down.

They have called our office several times but no one is ever there and just hangs up.  I called them back a few days ago and asked to have the number removed and they were nice about it.  But the calls started up again and now when I call it back I get a fax tone.  I guess that is a way to get around the callbacks!

I wonder if they are recording the conversation you have with them when you call to remove your number. They record all their outbound calls and do not tell you (as required by law). They edit the recording so it sounds like you are agreeing to pay for whatever they're selling. So why wouldn't they record incoming calls, edit the crap out of them, and say you signed up for their service? All they need is for you to say "yes" or "okay" just once and they got ya.

VERY IMPORTANT: anyone who has gotten these calls, no matter how brief the conversation, should monitor their phone bills and other utililty bills/invoices. That's how these scammers bill you, indirectly, hoping that you won't ever notice. Better yet, call your phone company today and ask them to put a freeze on your account, so that no third parties can add charges to your phone bill without the phone company calling you and asking if you approve!

i signed up for do not call and they still call

we receive calls from this number daily for a week straight now, sometimes more than once a day - no one is there when I pick up.  eventually the calls stop for a while, then start back up again. don't know why they bother calling if they don't want to talk to someone - more of a nuisance then anything.

YES!!!!! Call 1-888-737-1000 to have your name removed from the calling list.  My staff is called on a daily basis and the reps hang up on them when they ask to be removed from the calling list.  Hopefully this works now that I have called this number and had our number removed.  Also the woman I spoke with on this number was english speaking......unlike the others with heavy indian accent that have been constantly annoying my staff.

Jan, you're welcome. We must be aggressive with dirt bags of this ilk. Regardless of those so-called no call lists, they are essentially like a placebo sugar-pill.

It keeps government (union) workers in business, costs us money, and doesn't do a bit of good.

yeah, i got that phone call telling me our business will be on google and it's "free". i told her that's wonderful but my husband owns google and he deals with it himself. she was surprised and her tone changed. another time they called again and i told a different indian lady that my husband owns yahoo! and he will be pissed off if he finds out our restaurant business is doing business with google. i like to mess with them cuz yelling at them and putting yourself on a do-not-call list doesnt work. since they lie to you about "free" things, u can lie to them back.
