They're scammers.  Legally, debt collectors MUST send via MAIL (not fax or email) a debt validation letter proving that you owe the alleged debt and also that they are legally entitled to collect said debt in your state.  They can't just "garnish" your wages like they've said - you have to be taken to court and a judgment awarded against you in order to actually do this.  Plus, it is illegal to threaten a lawsuit and garnishment if they are not actually going to do this.  Let your HR Dept know that you're being harassed by scammers and also report them to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  You may also wish to put fraud alerts on your financial accounts and with the three credit agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion).

Debt Collector
Threatening me and my work place with garnishment.  I've never had a pay day loan and they are illegal in Arizona.  Claim that my wages will be garnished as of next pay period.
