I received a text message from this number a little while ago. Wasn't sure who it was but since I'm looking for a job I called just to check it out. Good thing too, it was the job board I had applied through and looks like I had missed a couple things on my application and they offer a verification of all your info before the application goes over to the actual job people.

Kinda nice that they caught this otherwise I'd look stupid to my potential new boss. Not the best 1st impression...

I got a text about a job that I applied for on craigs list. It was from CAREERNETWORK and said to call about the Administrator/Data Entry Clerk Job that I applied for. Right below it said to text STOP to cancel. I thought it was strange that I would get a text about a job, especially one that said to text Stop to cancel... very strange. I went online to see what this company was about and ran into a lot of warnings about Career Network being a scam and others who received similar text messages but from a different number. I'm not going to call them or text STOP and hopefully I won't receive further contact from them. I think it would be a very bad idea to give them any more information than I already have when I applied for the "job" in the first place.

Just got off the phone with Career Network and I called them per request via text message. They offer a prescreen and verification service to its applicants for their employers. The call was brief and was just to verify all of the information I put on my application before it was turned into the management of the job.

Chances are, your validation conversation was short because you said NO to their questions regarding you wanting to continue your education, or you told them you would not supply them with your Credit Bureau Score, or other such personal info. Sorry to be the bearor or bad news but
I have found nothing good about this company so far.

PLEASE do NOT respond to any Text messages you may receive from this company calling themselves Career Network! I am a very suspicious person by nature given my background in Security and Networking industy for the past 26 years. If ANYONE has ever actually got a job in direct connection to this organization I would really appreciate hearing from you. All the investigative work I have done on this company is that they are simply a shell company operating under several names and located in several states. The reason they are the ones responding to the job posting to "verify the information you gave the other company" is that THEY are the ones that put the job posting on the site to begin with. Most I have run into are coming from Craigslist.com which is sad since this site is, I believe a good resource. They offer to "verify" the information you supplied on your resume and in doing so will as you questions like "Now Mr. XXXX, I assume that you are interested in continuing your education in order to broaded your employment options right?" This is the first lead-in for them to connect you to their list of Educational Services and Schools. They will even offer to assist you in obtaining educational loans. Which brings us to their second underlying phish! Tese people are not paid to contact you from the job that was posted. They are paid by the referring networks they are joined up with. These being Lending institutions, Educational facilities, and even Credit Bureaus. I have found instances of them even asking what your credit bureau score is. The reasons they give you for supplying this info may be sound but contact a local HR person in your area and ask if they need that info to hire you. Unless you are applying for a banking industry position, which in many cases DOES require you to carry a certain credit bureau score, they should never need this much info to set up a interview for you. At the end of their conversation, They almost always state "Any future contacts that you receive regarding this position will come directly from the employer and not from us, please direct any future questions to THEM."
Chances are...the position never really existed or was a posting they saw and copied to their free listing sites.

First time I called back - no answer. Tried again and got through. It is Career Network and it is to verify information that you submitted. Once verified, the information is forwarded to the hiring manager and he/she will be doing any future contacting.

It was straight forward they were just contacting me to verify my application info and make sure I was still interested in the job.

Nothing shady about it.

I just received the same message.  Who is this from?  Career Network?  I did not apply for anything thru them. This leads me to think it is ID theft or spam too.
