This must be a debt collection agency that bought some very old debt from someone.  All though I have paid all these old debts back and went through Federal Bankruptcy they still call.  My advice is to never ever return these calls even if they say they are from some law firm.  If that were true they would send you a certified letter or something of that nature.

I have been recieving these phone calls as well and they said they were from macalveys law firm.It was an automated call(I didnt talk to anyone at the office)I would assume they would send me some sort of mail to back up what we owe.I do know we owe a place but we made arrangements for next month...

Recieved a call from them as well, and told to call back.  I called back to a nice lady who said I owed them a quikpay day loan from back in 2005. She then said that we can arrange a payment schedule, or take it to court.  I asked her to provide me some details, she only said when I obtained the loan and that I made a couple of payments.  
I think this is a scam, as rhg said, they would send a certified letter.  Plus they are threatening to take me to court for $400 ??? LOL...  Bring it lady.

I am thinking about getting a digital recorder to get them on tape threatening me, and then I can file a federal case against them.

Recieved a call from 1-877-251-8505 stating that i owed a payday loan back in 2006 i think and that if i didnt pay 220.00 by 07/30/2008 that they were going to bring charges against me for trying to pass  a bad check. what happened is 2 wks before they called me,burges law firm took my check number and bank info. in all honesty i tried to satisify this debt. but when they tried to tke the funds out of my bank there was insuffent funds because of another bill. i didnt know this was a fraud case. the lady that i spoke with started yelling at me. i did talk to a lawyer and this law firm wanted me to wire them the money to unistates credit agency. i could use a little advice email me k

This outfit has been leaving recorded messages at my work and at my home, to call them. I will not be calling them, as some other outfit has been calling me with a worse scam, and I am pursing charges against them.
These scum bags need to get legitimate work. They seem to be having a field
day with old payday loans, any that I have taken in the past, have certainly
been paid off at the time. You need to call the authority's. These people

got calls from 877-251-8505 claiming to be the office of att.mckelvey and that court action would be taken against me if payment wasn't made. Without notification from the law office my bank was ordered to close my accounts and confiscate all funds.  The day I went to my bank is when I found out the bank said a judge sent them an order giving the mckelvey office permission to close my accounts and take all of my funds.  Is this really legal??  I have no money and no job can't afford an attorney. How could a bank get scamed??

just got two calls from this number but didn't answer. only a few people should have my cell number so I know it's bogus. I was getting calls from another number that was listed like this on another site. Posing as debt collector, nasty attitude and unprofessional behavior. This number keeps calling my work.  I have told numerous people to not call my job as I am a field worker and not in the office.  The superiors are starting to get really agitated with these calls.  And now they are portraying to be some law office.

They keep calling, I called back to find out about what as they said it was a legal matter.  They claim I owe a Payday loan I have not made.  They said since it was in my name and SSN that I was responcible.  I told them I would discuss this with law officials in Texas (where I live) since I did not make the loan and I would not be held liable.  THEY HUNG UP ON ME and then called me again less than 1 hour later.  I was at work.  I went to a less public area and called them back and asked the name of the firm and what state.  They are in New York, when I told them I had talked to them this morning and that they are crossing state lines to harrass people, they hung up on me!!! Figures.  I am going to talk to law enforcement here and on the Fed level about these crooks.

Ms. Carter got hold of a friend of the family's phone number and asked about my self and the person they are really looking for.  I do not know HOW they got the family friend's phone number and I wonder if it is really legal.  The only way besides bank accounts is by a shared post office box.  Is it legal for the post office to give out any kind of information like this?  I realize they could have gotten the names of those who share the box and then look up what s probably a public phone number for the friend.  I just left a mesage and I fully intend to speak with them tomorrow.  God forgive me because I am NOT feeling very friendly at this time and God help them because they are asking personal information about someone I know, but who does not live here. Even if they did I would NOT give them any information.  Since they had the unmitigated gall to ask for me also, I will give them something to think about when I do get the chance to speak with them.  Just letting off steam.  Thank you

I have received numerous calls from 877-251-8505,(716) 847-2606 & 800-976-0897 claiming that I owe money for something I know nothing about.  They have called my sister, my parents, all of whom have a different last name then I do.  I have no idea how they received my information or that of my families.  These people are relentless, they definitely make commission on people or they would not be so obnoxiously persistent calling innocent people every day.

This company has been calling my new cell phone number (SPrint looking for a guy named Keith C..... I called them back told them remove this number at once. Yet they still keep calling... Obvious bottom feeder collection group. I called them back today and warned them that 1 more call will result in legal action against them. I also told them and made the lady aware if yoru automated system calls it will be shifted to my services number and charged a 50.00 fee, and recorded a voice confirmation she is aware of this.

They want to use up my minutes, it will cost them alot of money.

they called and did not leave message. I called number to hear rcr saying legal office.  Could be contacted prior owners of our distictive ring fax number I suppose not sure tho.

Second, Third call same. Forth Call , called 877-251-8505 and told them they are to remove my number from their calling list as there is no one by that name here. I was told to stop barking  and hung up on . Called again next day was told it would be removed. Two more calls after that time. The calls, dates, and times are being saved and  suit will be filed in small claims for  the maximum allowed. This number is less than 3 weeks old and on the do not call list. Thank your local phone company who is making number changes available the same day to cable companies, and other services ,  if you do not pay the additional fees for an unlisted number

A Mr Rashad called me from very small debt from 2005 - happens because the company could no longer be a NC lender. Stupidly, I agreed and made arrangements to payespecially since he said my case was on the docket.  He was very rude.  After thinking about it overnight how unprofessional he was and how he didn't even fax me the info I requested.  I cancelled everything!

They keep calling me at my new cell phone number asking for someone I don't know.  I let my voicemail take the calls.

I got 6 calls from them, finally called them back and it was a law office saying I was listed as a possible relative for an "Iris Brown" I don't even know who that is and I don't know how they got my house number because it is NOT published????

The best way to stop the calls is to send McKelvey a letter directing him to cease all communication with you and warning him that you'll pursue legal sanctions against him in federal court if he doesn't comply. Just be sure to send your letter via certified U.S. Mail with a return receipt request, and save a copy of your letter. If McKelvey contacts you more than once after receiving your letter, then he's violating federal law and you can seek monetary damages against him for each violation.

I just got the run around from them. They think I am stupid.  They are threatening to sue me in a county that I do not even live in (huh?). I pulled my credit report and it isn't even there.

They were to email me a document and they won't send it. So, I called them back :)...fun to make them squirm. I told them that the item wasn't on my equifax report (I pulled all 3 but didn't want them to know that)...he said (Mr. Jones) that they had the experian...that is when I told them I pull all 3.

They hung up on me!!!!!

Got a message from a law firm at 1-877-251-8505 this morning. I called back an assistant said I had a loan (which I didn't have) defaulted and will be sued. He asked me if I want them to represent me, for a fee near $300. He claimed he has all information of mine. But when validating my address, the two addresses he gave were all wrong! So to the last 4 digits of  ss#.

I called my cel phone company to block them. AT&T Cellular cannot block phone numbers :(
They just gave me the National Do Not Call registry number 1-888-382-1222 and said after 30 days it will be illegal for them to call me.

Has called upwards of 8 times a week for a former temp. I called and told them that he does not work here anymore and to remove our number from the database, so we'll see if that worked.
