Wish that would work...we have one at work that actually calls the fax number two times a week. They're not sending a fax so eventually the calls hangs up. Of course the whole scam is entirely automated so no person knows that the scam phone call is calling a fax machine. This has been going on 2x a week for at least 6 months but I don't give a rat's patutie as no scam fax (ie: VACATION DEALS) is coming though using company supplies.

Try calling your local phone co and have their number blocked. Has worked for me in the past. I could not enter their numbers from my home phone....said invalid number, but called my local phone office and they blocked the numbers for me! Good Luck!!

Never give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

I would trust ADA about as much as I trust the present President of the US, and I don't trust him at all.
Makes me wonder if they really are legitimate or if some parasites are getting rich off donations. Certainly has made my diabetes problem go away.

Multiple incessant calls from 877-255-1077 and 877-251-2901...just learning that these are from the American Diabetes Association. I just reported these to the Federal Trade Commission @ 877-382-4357...you actually reach a Consumer Counselor.
I am learning that friends are also being hounded by these unwanted calls. The ADA does not want adverse publicity...contact your local newspaper. See if a reporter would be willing to do an article about this issue and how it has become so annoying and intrusive inour lives. Be proactive.

Get a call from 877-255-1077 at different times EVERY DAY. Earliest was 9:20 a.m. and latest was 8:40 p.m. I answered once and there was a moment of static before some asked for "Mrs. G". I told them to leave me the f*** alone and slammed the phone down. The calls started again the next day. I'm hoping that eventually they will give up.

I AM a diabetic and they call here incessantly. I've told them that I can barely afford to keep myself in insulin, syringes, glucometer strips, etc. and that I cannot afford to help a fellow diabetic. In fact, once I asked if they'd help me and they hung up!
Lynn 2012-04-09 18:42:54 Unknown
They call a few times each and every day. I don't answer, it is so annoying. Some people on here have mentioned they are going to cancel phone service and just use their cell phones, we get a few calls each week on our cells also. And DO NO CALL list is a big joke.
Blair 2012-03-25 03:53:13 Unknown
There is no proof that this is from the ADA or any other legitimate company.
If they don't identify themselves on the caller ID, leave messages on your answering machine, or come up as a company name when you type the number into a 1-800 directory such as the Yellow Pages, they are almost certainly scams trying to appeal to your good nature in order to steal your credit information.
They aren't using the "don't call list" loophole to make calls, they are purposely breaking the law knowing that the government can't work fast enough to keep them all under wraps.
Alfred 2012-03-23 17:23:56 Unknown
One thing that I've done is route the numbers to one of the numbers that call all the time, this helped for a while, several number have been block and routed to others that wouldn't stop calling. Let them call each other...See how they like it.

I have received two calls in the early evening from this number. When I answer I just get dead air, like a college radio station.

It's the American Diabetes Association asking if you will mail out 4 pamphlets to neighbors looking for donations.
Gaz 2012-02-11 17:44:28 Unknown
As I understand it, non-profit organizations are exempt from DNC lists. So the ADA isn't breaking any rules.

Folks,
These "robot" calls are made to see what time you answer your phone.
Telemarketers get a report and start to call you shortly therafter..... and
they will call at the times you have answered your phone. Their report
only shows working phone numbers.
Talk to them if you?re lonely but face it,,,,,, THEY JUST WANT
YOUR MONEY!
Get caller ID, get an answering machine, or change your number because
They call from 8:01 AM to 8:59 PM, seven days a week. I'm gonna stop
the house phone service and just use the cell phone.
