They called my ex husband and left their tell tale nasty threatening message on his voice mail today. It is just a scam as everyone states. They call from different numbers too so I always screen my calls anyways. Any credible caller would be able to be called back so that is another way to tell if something is not as it seems is call the number back they are calling you from. If you get anything but a human answering the phone when you call then it is just another scam.

I received this message...

This message is intended for Mr. (my name), but it's in regards to Mr. (guy I have never heard of) claim number, 162433. My name is Philip Johnson, I'm contacting you regarding an order that has been submitted to my office this morning. I need to verify an address to present Mr. (guy I have never heard of) with his formal claim at his residence or place of employment.  He does have one opportunity to contact the firm handling his claim to discuss this matter. They can be reached at (877) 258-8587. And the claim number listed on this order is, 162433. Mr  (guy I have never heard of) you have officially been notified, through your reference, Mr. (my name).

I called them back and told them I did not know this person and they said they would remove my number from the account. I hope he actually dose.

A Ms.  Graywall first called my work number (luckily she doesn't have my cell number).  She left a message as I was at lunch.  She stated she had a case being presented to her to which she needed to serve me papers.  Gave me this number of the "agency" but no name of that said agency to call as 877-258-8587.  She stated I needed to give them valid addresses of my home & work to serve me at.  Funny thing is she did not identify who she was calling with or who it was in reference too.  Upon leaving work I called the 877 number and a young lady, sounding almost right out of high school answered.  She stated that in 2010 I had borrowed money from VIP CASH and needed to make arrangements immediately as they had a case building against me.  I stated to her that per the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT that calling me is not "OFFICIALLY" notifying me and that I was requesting written documentation be mailed to me.  She then began telling me that I must be a dead beat and that all debtors try to hide behind the FDCPA and that she wasn't going to go away.  Basically told me I stole money from them and that I was a criminal.

On top of all this, not only did they call my work but that Ms. Graywall called my parents home and to make matters even worse, some how called my brothers Father-in-Law to whcih the only time I have ever met that person was on the day of my brothers wedding 18 years ago and it was a hand shake.  I don't even know where he lives, much less have a phone number.  They told him everything about the so called case.

I have made a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and am very tempted of making a call to the local police for a police report.  I am told that we can also make complaints on the FBI website about them.

They are also calling themselves LINCOLN CAPTIAL  ADVISORS.  The girl I spoke to when I asked if they had a website stated it was down for upgrades - LIKELY STORY!

What SCAMMERS!

I have received two voicemail messages on my home phone in as many days.  Female voice, very aggressive.  Saying that I need to get back to the "firm" as soon as possible as there are charges being filed against me by "Robert" with the same last name as mine, who is my nephew.  Robert is indeed my nephew but he does not live near me, he's in another state.  I called him to ask him if he's received any calls like this and he said he has, his wife and his sister have also.  The message was the same, that there is a pending case against them and they need to call the number back asap.  It's a total scam.

Also said good luck if I didn't get back with them. Yell right, like I really care about there scam.

In second thought, maybe we should call them back, and said there under investigation for calling me and waiting phone time.

A woman with a very aggressive voice left a message on my voice mail at work regarding one of our employees.  She could not even pronounced the last name properly so she has to spell it out.  She said she is calling about an arbitration order # against our employee placed on her desk which requires immediate attention to call her back (and left this phone number) as an order will be processed soon.  What a crap! Why can't they just process the court order and send to the address of the employee.  Besides they are not supposed to call the employer or I can report them to the Fair Trade Commission for harrassment and further investigation.

Called several times today and left one message one my home phone.  Some girl saying her name is Courtney at ext 313, and that an arbitration # has been turned over to her firm (didn't say which firm or what it was about or who it was for).  Said that their lawyers were revising the charges (?) and that she was going to pursue legal action against me in my court of jurisdiction.  Weird.  No clue.  Called back but got recorded voice mail.  Irritating voice, stupid message.  The girl can't even pronounce arbitration.
