I have been receiving messages for a year now from a Mr. Douglass stating that a notarized affidavit has been issued to sue me for fraud in a bad check that was written in 2010.  When I told him I would have to just dispute it because I didn't have the money, he tried to get me to pay a reduced settlement.  The catch is that the one payday advance loan I ever got was paid back 3 times over including interest in 2011, but I do onot have the letter stating that.  Now I have to pay the bank to pull up my past electronic withdrawals just to prove to them that I paid so that they can stop harrassing me.

They are hounding me but won't give me any information. This needs to stop

I have been getting phone calls at my job from these people. the number he told me to call him back at was 1-855-350-5494 his name was Miller. They just sent papers to my job asking for verification of employment.  I am not going to answer anymore calls from them.

Yesterday, I received 2 AM phone calls with the number listed as UNKNOWN. I did not pick them up. Left voice mails--talking about some type of bad check, etc., something I knew nothing about. Said that he was going to first contact me at my place of employment. He named the correct place and said since I was a teacher, I probably would not be there and he would be at my house at 1 PM. He did call my personnel office, but they did not give out any information, and told them not to. They can not without my permission in writing.  I also gave an e-mail to personnel office stating not to release any information and I had not asked for any release to anyone. 1PM came and went and no one showed. Two calls today with the above number that you all mentioned, but I did not answer them. I just do not pick up calls with numbers I have never heard of, plus they were on my cell phone, and I do not give out my cell phone. The 877 numbers were also on my cell. As someone mentioned, only appointed county officials serve legal papers, usually the deputy sheriffs, and appointed servers and they have identification. This person said his name was Jason Turner. I needed to an 888 number which answered but never had any response after that. I needed an ROF form before he got there at 1 PM to avoid serving of papers. He gave a case number. His calls were 20 minutes apart. I am going to do what you all say, and just document, and not do anything. I did call the State Police and my cell phone carrier to report what I thought was fraud, so they have a record of it. My cell phone company said that I may have to change my number if it continues, and I will have to contact my landline if it continues.

It appears they are a scam, that one of our debtors have sold our info too! I think ours was sold by Honda Corporation that is the only link that i have with our daughter in Florida! If I find them I will shoot them for us! PEACE

Got a call from them as well, different number tho using same scare tactics saying that they are going to serve a summons either to my home or place of employment because of a civil judgment. It is from a pay day loan company which also will not accept installment payments. Help! How aggressive can these pay day loans be? I want to repay them but unfortunately I am in a situation to where I am unable to do so

I just received a phone call from a so called private courier saying they were coming to my business in the next 3 hours with an envelope unless I called this company back. I called they hung up on me 3 times, threatened a lawsuit and yelling at me..Anywhere to turn these guys in or file a complaint?

These folks are scam artists trying to scare you.  You have to file a local suit and have it served by local law enforcement.  Nobody can just serve you papers.  Scam, Scam, Scam -- google them.

You dont have to worry about being served papers by anyone other than a law enforcement official in these matters. They won't send anyone to your house. They are a complete scam.

Apparently,  this company serves papers for a number of attorneys' offices.
I returned their call, but they would not tell me anything, so oh, well.
Apparently, my wayward brother gave them my name and I have no idea
why he would do that. Whatever! Whatever the issue, it does not in
any way involved me!

Similar case with me. Got a voicemail re: a civil suit affidavit and how I was listed as the secondary party (my mom was the primary party). When I asked what this was in regards to or how I was involved, they wouldn't say anything other than my mom had to call in and she got me involved. They would not release any information or details.

The call on my phone was from a local # and when I looked it up, it was a pay phone in my city. The # of the voicemail was the 1800.

When I called 877-260-5576, the lady I spoke to asked for a claim number.  When I told her that I was calling in regards to a message regarding a legal affidavit which had nothing to do with me, she asked me if I knew any of the  people listed with this number.  When I told her "no," she apologized and said I probably got someone's old number.  I told her that I have had the same number for @ least 10 years through 3 different service carriers. Guessing it must be an unscrupulous bill collector since the person who left the message as well as the rep answering phone showed no evidence of maintaining confidentiality.

Received a phone call from James Randolph @ 877-260-5576. Left a message (for someone who is not me) stating that a legal affidavit was going to be brought to the home and/or place of employment unless a stand down order was received. Message stated that a signature is required by the claimant.

I received a voice message from them stating a case no however they did not leave any additional information.

These people are aggressive and use insane collection agency tactics.  They sent a fax to an employer I haven't work for in over 2 years threatening them to have me "sign" a release, called both my parents cell numbers (which I never give out) and only reference my ex-husband's address when threatening to serve civil suit papers.  Scare tactics galore!  I don't even know what "bill" they are trying to collect.

I received them too, when i call the number 8772605576 they didn't pickup the phone and couple munite later, i received phone call from another girl..she have no idea too. and some how my number forward to another person. after that i call them again and ask for service they pickup and they tell me that i was in sue by fauth...no idea what is it..i check the court house where i current live, they have no record or any case open for me..this is weird...

Well apparently my mother has this debt because they say she is listed as the main defendant and she named myself and my sister, so i am confused. i dont know why they are trying to contact me and involve me in her debt matters......

i got a call from them too its not a scam its a debt collector its about a payday loan i took out a few years ago i forgot all about it. Its the last of my debt that i know of so i am just going to pay these people so they leave me alone

Did you get any other company name info besides IAG, they gave that name to me as well but I cant figure out what it is and they are stating my mother gave them my name which makes NO SENSE. I dont do any business with my mother so that is IMPOSSIBLE!

They called me saying that my mother listed me as a defendant in a law suit, that they were going to stop by tomorrow to have me signe papers. I dont know who this is and am not involved in any law suits and when i called back they refused to give me any info, they also wouldnt let me speak to a supervisor when i asked. I asked what court this suit was filed in and the person on the other end couldnt tell me, I asked who was the plaintiff if i was listed as the defendant and they couldnt tell me that either and i advised them this sounded like a scam and I had no idea how they may have gotten my information!

Just wondering if anyone has called them back?  They called my roomie saying I wrote a bad check to her and they needed to talk to me.  I havent written a check in like 6 years.

They called my answering machine stating they had papers that they needed to send me but first needed to validate my personal information. Sounds like a scam. Not planning to call them back but did they inform you what they wanted or what information they were trying to get out of you?

Seems like they may have something to do with wage garnishments. I called them back, but they didn't discolose much infomration. They seemed to be pretty tight lipped.
