It is indeed Rogers calling from this number. I called them back and of course end up having to listen to their stupid robot go on and on while waiting for a person to talk too.  "This is Rogers.  We are calling you to make sure you are receiving the best services and promotions"....blah, blah, blah.

I've asked them to remove me from their call lists as well. They still call monthly, and I demand monthly. Nothing stops them...I've even told them I would contact my lawyer for harassment, that hasn't stopped them. I guess they need the business *rolls eyes*

Called yesterday and my call display just showed a phone number, with "Unknown" as the caller name (which usually means telemarketer), but they called again today and now instead of "Unknown" it comes up as "Anonymous."  Because of course I'm so much more likely to answer a phone call from "Anonymous" as opposed to "Unknown."  <roll eyes>

I have call display and a call screening app running on my lap top which screens calls - if the caller/number is not on the recognized list of numbers it rings 3 times and gives this message - "the number you have connected with is a private residence line used for personal calls only. All business and solicitation calling is shunted to a harrassment log. We are registered on the no-call list. Any further calls will be legally actionable under the business procedures act and consumer proction act." Then it hangs up

Works like a charm - even my bank and business contacts (who I give a business phone numbr to) stop calling my home number and if it is urgent business they mail me a document stating so. But not these A-holes.

Even with this warning message and my registration on the no-call list, I get 3 to 4 calls a day 6 days a week from this number. I contacted Rogers customer service and told them to stop this calling but they said they have no control over 3rd party business praactices. I have filed suit. I have months of evidence of harrassment by this shady telemarketer. I have also filed grievence with provincial and federal better buisness authoritities and the CRTC. Everyone who gets calls from this do***e bag outfit should do likewise.....and don't let Rogers off the hook for hiring this dirtbag telemarketer, they're playing with thie business licence and CRTC operating having these harrassing robo callers promote their product.

Your right Chris, its not Rogers. I just went in to Rogers and confronted them, he thinks it might be a third party and is going to have them investigated. I already called the Do not call list and filed a harrassement suit. Hope it doesn't cost me anything.

We changed from Bell to Rogers this past spring and have never had this problem with Bell, we are consistently getting 800, 877 etc. calls, we don't answer nor do they leave messages.  We are also registered on the do not call list which apparently doesn't work for calls from out of Canada.  Getting Fedup and will tell people if asked about Rogers that I'd think hard before changing especially if you wish to be bothered wth unknown identification when 800, 877 calls show up on the phone. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

These idiots called me three weeks ago.  After I got the guy to slow down, he explained they are calling on behalf of Rogers. I asked if he worked for Rogers, and he said "no" and mentioned another company name.  He explained they had a TMN promotion  for 50% off the regular retail price.  Having been called at a busy time, I was "ok, sounds good."  Was transferred to another department to complete the order and was told I wasn't eligible for the 50% off and only 20% off.
I very nicely told the girl I wanted what I was originally quoted, this is false advertising and for her to cancel the order.  She apologized for the inconvenience and cancelled.  I've been watching my bills, and nothing has been added or taken away.

Yeah it's Rogers, trying to take more money for extra services. Expect 20 minutes (if you even bother ) of your time.  They start off telling you how much you can save.  At the end of the conversation, it would have cost more had I agreed.  This would have given me 1 extra channel.  Be warned, don't agree to anything until you know the bottom line...will my bill increase

Good luck

I'm already a Rogers customer.....and they are still trying to sell me stuff.  what's up with that? This is b***s***.
I called Rogers and asked politely to remove my phone number from the there telephone list. They were happy to do so but it will take two weeks to process the request.  I am frustrated because I've mentioned  many time that I was not interested in whatever they were selling.  Ya! I was ignored and they called back every day (sometimes twice or three times a day) with the same s***.... Ok! Not sure if this time it will work. But I'm ready to tell Rogers to go to hell and that I will look for my services somewhere else.

The callers are hired telemarketing subcontractors to sell Rogers services.   So these people will promise you anything to get the business; they could actually add services without your approval.  You cannot even complain to Rogers since these people are not even their employees andlittle record to support their promises.

Stay away and don't even bother answering, they'll know the phone line is active and will keep calling for your business.  Unfortunately, this is legal if you read your service agreement that allows for calls from agents of Rogers.

Don't answer!

This is not Rogers and I will tell you why.  I think its some kind of fraud line and also could be someone trying to sell extra services to us.  My husband got a call from this number and he was talking and kept asking them what they want.
So I took it out of his hand and asked them what was he after our account number and password???  he said no no maam.  PLUS he had the strongest hardcore indian accent, which I(also indian nationality) couldn't even understand.

I knew a professional company would not hire someone who cannot be understood so at the go I knew this was fake.  I hung up and then reported this to rogers who were not even ware of this number and then called that number back in 5mins.
I told them that I had reported this to the police and they were able to track their location and are on their way to arrest them.   The guy on the line said "good luck" and hung up!
Tell me that wasn't fraud??

Apparantely, it's Rogers, trying to sell upgrades. This is quite ironic, as under your posted question there's an ad for ... ROGERS!!!  Google around, some of the other "who calls me" sites have larger threads about this number.

You really have to wonder how desparate people are to make a buck to have to "telemarket" as a job!!!  I haven't answered yet, but it still pisses me off to be disturbed to see who is calling... This rings with the long distance ring, and so I run to see call display in case it is my aging parents with a problem. (Of course, I could just wait to see if someone's leaving a message, but that's not my instinct.) What losers ANY ANY ANY one is to telemarket!!!  LEAVE ME ALONE. If I want something, I WILL do the research and contact YOU, if you HAPPEN to be whom I select. I can, however, tell you that I'm farrrrr less likely inclined to do ANY business with businesses that pester me at home.

According to the above comments, it seems the calls are from Rogers. Today, they called 8 times. I wasn't home, but I never answer these 877, 800 numbers. But I find this to be very annoying. I wish there were some ways to stop theses, without having to change my home phone number to an undisclosed one.

I called back the 877 number directly and it went straight to someone from the Rogers marketing team trying to sell the "discount" and he went straight into his selling script, at which point i interrupted him, told him i wasn't interested and asked to be removed from the calling list.  He did so politely and we parted ways...hopefully never to speak again.
