I get these calls from this same number after business hours and on holidays.  They keep hanging up and never say anything.  I have good insurance and have never received a bill from The University of Texas Health Center that has not been paid.  This is very annoying.

This is the payment services department for the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, Texas. I work there. We do not steal social security numbers or credit card numbers. You owe us money so we called you. We have to verify ONLY the last 4 of the social. Then we let you know that you can pay your bill by phone with debit, credit, or check. JUST PAY YOUR BILL

Ok, I assumed so when I was asked my entire SSN(not last 4 digits) and DOB.

Also would like to see the number listed in the college's website. The number is non local. You have an equal responsibility assuring that you are genuine. And the last time someone called they wanted to match the whole SSN since the last 4 digits weren't the same. And today the caller hung up on me when I was telling her that I could only share the last 4 digits.

Sorry, that so did not happen. I have worked there for over 3 years. There aren't that many people that work there. And we sit in the same room, so I can hear my coworkers when they are on the phone. And I have NEVER heard anyone EVER ask for the whole ssn. The only time I've heard someone ask for the date of birth is if the person is refusing to verify the last 4 of ssn. And it isn't a local #, because its a toll free #. And the payment services department is located in Indiana, so obviously it isn't going to be a local #. If people would just pay their bills or call and set up payment plans, then they wouldn't be receiving calls.

If you have received a bill, it doesn't matter if its been less than 30 days.

Debt Collector
Hospital Medical Bill Collector Computer calls and hangs up several times a day and hangs up until someone answers. I called back and asked them from what hospital that they represent and they said what is your phone number? I stated, "You tell me you just called me and hung up". They then hung up. I blocked their number since the only hospital bills I owe are less than 30 days old!!!
