I was scammed by these *******!!! I "set up payments" and have been supposedly making payments for a past bill only to find out today the company I thought I was paying had No record of Any interation with me!! Am getting law enforcement involved ASAP!

I received a call from my sister in law saying that she had received a call from a detective named James Edwards with the Platte County Sheriffs Office and they wanted to speak with me immediately. The number of the call was (816) 858-2424 and showed on caller ID which is the correct number. The detective was asking her for my address and phone number and I told her to give it to him...  I immediately called the Sheriffs office and was told that nobody with that name worked there. I actually have a few friends that are police officers with the county and I felt it was pretty odd that they were calling my brothers house on a Saturday not to mention that my address is readily available by a DL search. So I am not a rocket scientist but am an educated business owner and professional. This guy James Edwards was using a spoofing program - google it. When he called my in law back she asked him what this was in regard to and he said that I was going to be charged with felony fraud - wtf! I'm so legit... He gave her a case number and a phone number of 888-814-3560 ext 103. I called it and the message says "thank you for calling the investigative auditing corporation" FYI- B.S. company but I believe they are actually IAC and Associates. Anyway I got an unknown call from this guy and here is the exact conversation:

James Edwards : Mr. ######### , James Edwards, I am  an investigator with Platte County and this call is in reference to the felony fraud charges against you. (Bye the way - did not sound professional at all!
ME: Are you with the sheriffs office or an independent special process server?
Edwards: How this that relavant...
ME: because I have a right in the state of Missouri to know who is calling me and what matter it is in regard to.
EDWARDS: I love it when people try to turn the tables on a matter like this.
ME: Well what is the exact matter.
EDWARDS: Sir, I simply only need to provide you with three things, a phone number of the company pressing charges, their phone number and the case number - do you have something to write this information with?
ME: No, I don't have a pen with me. (I was shopping at Home Depot.)
EDWARDS: Ok, well this is your notice and I am in route to serve you in person your address at Blank Blank Blank, Missouri.
ME: Okay, I will be waiting for you...lol and he hung up.

So Mr. Edwards, first and foremost even though you made my in law nervous and you were given my address your dumb a** wrote the digits down incorrectly and even though I came home and waited outside you never showed or called again. I called your office and guess what - another computer program answering machine that doesn't go to anyone.

So if your so damn smart let's talk law... This is what you will be facing on Monday Mofo!

Well like I said I'm not a rocket scientist nor an attorney but I am smart enough not to take s*** from a little piss ant like you. James Edwards - DO NOT CALL ME OR MY FAMILY AGAIN - YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED!

it is never too late to ask for information in writing. Let callers know you know that. I have been getting cryptic messages left with almost no information expecting me to call back. Fact is that I have great credit and nave never defalted. Maybe that is why they don't rattle me.

Even if you have had issues and defalted there are laws that IAC are breaking. BTW that 877-853-2923 that said it was National Arbitration Services is also a phone number at IAC. Never give anyone information over the phone about anything.

This company, IAC and Associates keep leaving the same message on my machine  DAILY.  Today, the number on my i.d. is 444-776-9822, different number, same message.  They claim that it is a pressing legal matter and that my husband must contact them immediately.  After calling for a while now, you would think they would have already turned it over to their attorneys.  They even called my daughter and got her upset. It's amazing how people don't care they take advantage of people. We all have difficult times, but to get ahead at the expense of others is NOT pleasing in God's eyes. I pray that these people and others like them will be stopped and their souls will be saved.

I was stupid enough for them to scare me about taking me to court and or being arrested that I made payment arrangements through a green dot card. Well as I got thinking about it,they would not send me any paper work or anything about the pay day loan information. I reported the number and it just so happens its a scam company trying to bully people. I will wait like the rest of us for the court papers or the police to come and serve them now. I have canceled the card. They got me for about 600.00 I couldn't afford and went without food and gas for my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How Stupid of Me. Don't be the next one. BE WARNED

They are threating to have me arrest and charged with embezzment.

Received a call from Angela Capelli who claimed to be the senior lead attorney/detective on this case.  She said I needed a criminal and defense attorney as I was being charged with theft by deception and fraudulent check writing and that criminal and civil allegations were placed against my name and social security number.  
Called my house and talked to my 16 year old daughter and told her I needed to call her regarding a possible June 24th court date.  
Said if I do not make payment arrangements a uniformed sheriff would come to my home or place or employment to serve me.

Received a call from Frank Martin from National Arbitration Services.  He said that he is representing IAC and that we could work out payment arrangements or that he could tell IAC to go ahead and take it to court.  I told him that I needed documentation in writing.  He said that Check N Go sent me two things in writing to my home address.  I told him that I never received anything in writing and he said they never received any return mail and that it was too late now to request anything in writing.  It had gone beyond that.  I told him I could work out payment arrangements and he said it was too late for that although he would take 800 off the $1700 that I now owe.  At the end of the call he said that I would be served at work the 2nd week of September.
I have now received three recorded messages from National Arbitration Services saying the following:
?This is National Arbitration Services calling in regards to a case that has been placed here for litigation.  We are attempting to set up a time and date that corresponds with your schedule.  If you would like to designate your own appearance time and date, please contact our office at 877-853-2923.  However, if you would like a default arrangement with your local county, please disregard this message.?
I do not deny that I did default on this loan but I never received any documentation from Check N Go or any collection agency on this account.

I called this number back regrettably. The 'lawyer' as he introduced himself, verbally assaulted me. He told me he wishes I get cancer again. He told me I am the scum of the earth and that I DESERVE the cancer again. After about 3 minutes of him calling me every name under the sun, I told him i hoped he died and hung up. Don't waste your time. These people are a****oles to the full extent.

Constantly phoning my sister-in-law and threatening her with a law suit.  Now harassing her father.

I have gotten many calls from these people from 5 or 6 different numbers.  Most recent is 440-776-8938.  I went ahead and called to see what they would say to me, yep you guessed it, threatened me with a lawsuit.  So, I have been threatened with a lawsuit about 20 times now over the course of a year.  I have asked them to send me documentation of what they are saying I owe and they said they dont do that.  They have said they are going to send me a uniformed sheriff to my door to serve me.  OK, why in the hell would I not accidently be home?  That is crazy - they arent going to WARN you first.  If you owe something then they should be able to provide you with documenation.  I have received things in the past from debt collectors and I was happy to pay because they sent me the evidence. If they are going to take the time to sue you then they will at least take the time to send you the correct documentation.  The number she told me to call when i said i needed documentation was 877-268-7784 which is listed to a IAC in New York.  SCAM!

These people call all the time and I never answer the phone. I finally pick up and it is a recording from IAC (877 268 7784) saying that there is a lawsuit against me and I need to call them back to avoid charges to the ful extent of the law. WTH? I'm not going to return the call because if they really wanted to file a law suit I would have received something in the mail by now or has some one knock on my door serving me with papers. Do not respond, report instead!

This company IEC something or other has been calling my number for the past several months for Clifton Baloo. I am not Clifton Baloo, I don't know a Clifton Baloo. I am tired of getting these phone calls.

I received a call from my Sister-in-Law stating that Julie call her and wanted me to return a call because they needed a statement from me. Without hestitating I got on the phone and call them trying to see what this was pretaining to. Unfortunely, I didn't do my investaging as I usally do before. I then google the number and found this site. I think this is very wrong and these people need to be delt in a legal way. This make people around you think you use their name or something. Whoever these people are they need help!!

This was the call back number left from an automated message saying to call to complete their investigation.

Same: I'm getting calls at work for my predecessor, asking her to call so they can "complete their investigation".  I suspect it's a collection agency.

No message left...

They are hired by someone that you may have owed in the past.  This is a new scare tactic to get you to pay an old debt.  I paid the last person that did this to me and now these people are trying to collect on the same debt (that I never owed in the first place).  Just ask them to send you documentation on what you owe - they will either stop calling or send you the information if it is legit.  They are companies that try to bully people into paying $$ that is more than likely not even owed.  If you notice when they call you, their information comes from a telephone number usually within your state - they get some sort of phone line that allows them to use a number from whatever state it is you live in.  If it is a legit collection agency then they will send you what you need as proof.

yeah they call my cell at least 10 times a day.  It's really crazy and they never leave a message that would lead me to beleive it's important other that they are investigating something.  I figure if this is truely important I would have gotten something in the mail or a knock at my door.  I never answer the phone.

These people called my mother who lives in a different state and left a message saying they were calling regarding pending litigation against me and I would be receiving a summons at my home or work.  It is a scam.  I have received calls from another agency of the same sort.  They are trying to collect a bogus debt by threatening litigation.  I used an attorney and sued the previous office that harassed me.

They call our company every day harassing about a supposid debt I owe on a car loan i never possessed.

I received a call from this person on my cell saying she had information regarding a case against me for use of a debit or checking account on a acct. from a group of lawyers escrow acct. What the crap!!!

They are inundating me with phone calls and home and work, but never answer.

These people called for my brother, just identify theirselves as IAC and they have an investigation to finish.  
the person that called said her name was Julie Meyers   and she could not even say her speech without hestitation.   I am going TO CALL THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE, SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THESE PEOPLE.   THERE HAS TO BE A WAY OF STOPPING IT.

These people have managed to scam older people's cell phones. Stay away

Would not state who they were or what it was about contacted ex husband of 22 years.  Scammers all the way....No reputable company would do that... Said it was a legal matter.

I have a real common name, and got a message from this number stating it was "law office" looking to conclude an investigation. I suspect it was a collection agency shotgunning names in the Haynes Cris-Cross Directory, but you never know these days, this could just as easily be some Russian mafia ploy. Therefore I never respond to calls where I don't personally know the caller.
