How do I get these numbers to STOP calling me....getting sick and tired of them...I am on the DO NOT CALL registry...I dont answer these calls but they still keep coming.

For the past two weeks these criminals have been calling my house daily. I have asked them NUMEROUS times to stop calling. They arent affiliated with American Cancer, they are actually American Institute for Cancer Research.

Report these fools for violations. Only contribute locally and to nationally recognized organizations like the United way, Relay for Life, or etc. These people are rogue criminals who call using a variety of numbers. DAILY.

Someone named Paul Black calls with thie RECORDED message.  This is Paul Black. Please press 1 for a representative or call me at 1-877-275-8236.  No identification as to who he is or what he wants, but he calls several times a day, every day, for the past month or so.

Too many calls from this number.  Always want to speak to my husband.  Just will not answer an 877 number anymore.

I have asked them twice now to not call & to take me off their calling list. We will see if that happens.

No they are not exempt, because they are not actually from the American Cancer Research Association.  They are a scammer.

This is the American Cancer research agency. I called them yesterday and put my name on their do not call list, they called me back again today. Maybe it takes a few days for the number to get updated? noone was there, when i answered the phone.

got a call at 8:20 this morning and when I picked up the phone, there was no one there.  Very, very annoying, to say the least!  If these people are looking for a donation, we do not give donations after phone solicitations so stop calling us.

This is from Cancer Research-wanted to speak to ___ ____ who was my father.  He passed away in 2005.  Now don't tell me this was a solicted call.

They call constantly.  Takes 30 seconds to pick up.  She said something about not wanting a donation and cancer.  She was sending out "my" kit with 15 letters to send to friends and family.  I said, no way, and take me off your list immediately.  If this is legitimate, it sure sounds fishy an overly aggressive tactic!

Got a call from this number .  No one there -  Looked it up and says American Cancer or something like that.    Guess what dumb bunny -  no money from me, not now   not ever !!!!

In today's world of SPAM, this is SPAM for the telephone.  I find it disgusting when we have to worry about people calling up and hanging up without a word that makes you think someone is checking on you--too scary.  People want to know "what's in your wallet," and are willing to do anything for it.  There is too much invasion of privacy coming from every angle of life.  We are followed by "cookies" on the internet for what we buy.  When we use our "grocery cards" in the store, our purchases are followed so someone can send by snail mail, e-mail or text an unwanted advertisement.  Worst yet, with all this technology we first fed the phishers the phish,  now they can "phish" for themselves and are very cleaver at it.  Nothing is sacred anymore--your privacy, your wallet or your job.  It gives the legitimate charity a black eye.  

Until "we the people" get so fed up with this type of call and the complaints are so loud, such as what the credit card companies changing the rules on the American people so we pay and become poor and they receive and become rich, that the US government has to step in and make a DO NOT CALL LIST for charities.  Whether this will weed out the bogus charities, I don't know.  As Americans we have to be vigilant against any type of fraud.

This particular company preys on people who have lost loved ones from cancer which makes this really heinous.  Also, the fact that they call from different lines which leads me to believe that they are making money somewhere and paying someone minimal wage to make "the call" or it's computer generated.  

Flood your congressmen and women with the documentation about this "American Cancer Reseach (UNAVAILABLE CALLER - (877) 275-XXXX)" off your caller IDs with date and time of call and the phone line used.  They will get fed up with this, too, and maybe someone will do something about this.

This party calls but does not leave a message. Caller ID shows "unavailable." May be robo call.

Just received a call from this number 877-275-8236.  I did not answer it; as it was not identified by my Caller ID.  When I Googled it, the number came up as:  (877)275-8236 Ln, Masqat, Oman.
Be careful..............very careful.

This is NOT the American Cancer Society.  It's the American Institute for Cancer Research, which has an extremely poor record of distributing funds which it collects.

At least one call a week.  Enough already!

Dialing this number does get a response saying "American Institute for Cancer Research" and pressing 1 & 3 does seem to work to get to a system saying they will remove your number from their call list. We'll see if the calls subside or if I start getting calls from other organizations. About 3% of their income comes from list rental and only about 66% of funds raised go to programs (while 12% goes to administration and 22% to fund raising) according to the BBB (http://www.bbb.org/charity-reviews/national/c ... shington-dc-982). There appears to be many other cancer research funding organizations that seem to do a better job using their funds.

I received a call from this nimber 04/26/2011 at 8:47 a.m., they asked for my father by name.  He has been dead since May, 2004.  The woman said that she would take the number off their list.  Funny, I received a call similiar to this one about a year ago.  What a bunch of sick,devious creeps.

Really.....do you work for them?  Building a call list???  Give me proof.

By the way someone listed a 202 area code #.....as the way to get on tthe do not call list for charitable organizations.  Ummm, this is a cell number....hahaha.  Not that stupid but if you are serious, send me proof.

Same thing has happened to me.  No one is ever there when you pick up. I am called several times a day.  I lost my wife to cancer.  I asked for donations to the American Cancer Association instead of flowers or money.  These lifeless, bloodsucker telemarketers are trying to bleed those in mourning and their families.  Ugh!!!  How can this be legal?? Here's my theory..they get paid for dials/call volume. When asked by the call center manager about sales due to call volume they state "couldn't get in touch with anyone, got their voice mail." so they can justify a connect.  Think about it...everyone they call during the daytime is most likely at work (so the smart telemarketers/scammers trying to make a buck hang up if someone picks up the phone because these idiots don't know what to say when they hear a live voice!!!

These people have called me everyday for two weeks even though I have blocked all their numbers  It is bordering on criminal harassment.  These  people have the poorest rating on Charity Navigator.   I would never ever give anything to such a rude group.  Their CEO is dong very well by the way thanks in part to their telemarketing.

They have 3 numbers all calling me

We get calls every morning at 8:43 from 877-275-8236 and then at 3:30 pm and then at 8:10 pm everyday for the past week.

When we answer there is a dial tone.  When we leave it roll over to the answer machine they disconnect.

We've tried calling this number back and a mechanical voice tells us this number is not in service.

We have contacted our service provider today and they said they would check into it.  Let's see what happens.

Too bad we all can't get together and call those people non-stop and see how they like it.
