I have been getting calls from this number numerous time over past few days. I do not answer cold calls but am glad to know it is Charter since I did make a change with them this week. How unprofessional of them to not leave a message. They just keep calling and calling - sometimes several times within a few minutes. Annoying as heck. I just called back and got their voice mail confirming it is Charter.

07-20-2012 @ 10:00 AM = 877-276-0913, "TOLL FREE CALL".  I was gone when call came in and wife didn't pick up phone.  They didn't leave a message.  From blogs I've read, this may have been Charter Cable Co., calling to confirm my order that I made on 1st of month.  Either that, or trying to sell me a 'bundle' package that I don't want.  Since I already have an appointment set up for the installation, I see no point in them calling to confirm except to try and sell me a bundle.  My search on the Area Code revealed that 877 is a National toll free prefix that can be used for USA or Canada.  My appointment is for the 27th, so I'm assuming that's why they were calling to confirm it.  I think they should pass a law that says you must reveal your business phone number and company name when making a call.  NOT any of this "Toll Free Call" crap!   They should be made to identify themselves properly!!!!  We'll see if they call again.  If they do, they will get an ear full!

They were confirming my order and tried to upsell me. Finally I told them don't you understand what I just said and to stop trying to upsell me and not to call me again. Ithen terminated the call.

Ordered Charter yesterday, Thursday. Got 877 call, twice, this morning, Friday. Did not
answer. Searched Google, found this site's info. Called 877 number. Charter rep answered,
asked how she could help. I explained I have installation scheduled for next Tuesday, 8-10
AM, was told at time of order to expect an appointment confirmation call Monday and a
follow-up customer satisfaction call after installation Tuesday. Good. But this morning,
Friday, I got 877 sales calls. Not good. If I receive any more such calls, I will cancel my
Tuesday order -- I have lived happily for over a year without TV and broadband, bill unpaid
and service deliberately stopped by me out of disgust with Charter on multiple levels. My
request of rep, if she can do so, is to block future 877 calls from Charter. Rep then politely
asked me for the number which had received the call (number I gave for account when I
placed order). Rep spent a moment doing something, then politely informed me that the
block may take as long as 20 days to go into effect; therefore, I may receive calls in the
interim. After the block takes effect, I will no longer receive any informational or promotional
calls about Charter TV, phone, etc. Good.

I called the charter phone number from the Charter website and talked to their tech support.  The person I talked to was able to tell me that two calls were made to me and the it should not have happened twice.  He told me that these calls were to make sure that I had everything that I wanted and that I did not want to add any services to my upcoming installation.  Also, he told me that the first person that called should have verified that the confirmation call was made so that I would not receive any more calls trying to sell me other services.  The person working for tech support also told me that would be against federal law for them to sell or give any personal information of their customers to any outside company.  He said I should expect an automated confirmation call the day before the setup and one the day of the setup.  So in the end, the calls don't end until you confirm and confirm and confirm again.  (sorry for the typos, no glasses+typing on an iPod= headache and many spelling and grammar mistakes)

I got a call and had also just signed up for Charter service.  What is strange to me is they called my home phone number which is not the number I gave to them.  We are moving and do not have the new house phone yet.  How did they get the number we are disconnecting?  I thought it was a little strange.  I handed the phone to my husband and let him deal with them.

Yep it is Charter. Confirming for the third time that I put in an order. Plus they wanted to make sure that I didn't want to add to my package as if I didn't explain that well enough when I purchased the first service.

Once you have placed your order with Charter and scheduled your installation date, they will still call to remind you of the confirmation.  If you ordered service and haven't had it installed yet, they will also call you the day of the schedule install, to confirm they are on the way.  DO NOT HANG UP OR IGNORE.  If you hang up on this confirmation call, they will cancel your installation and you'll have to go through the process of rescheduling.

I recently ordered as well, but they told me up front to expect the calls and to not hang up or my appointment will be cancelled.

Charter.  I recently made an appointment for installation of internet.  Since it is a 877 number I knew it was telemarketing.  Basically they pretend, that they are confirming your appointment or whatever, but the real purpose of the call is to upsell you on a more expensive bundle, extra services, costly options you already declined, etc.  As with all hard sell sleezy telemarketing operations they ignore you when you say you are not interested and continue to pitch you until you basically hang up on the.  If Charter really wanted to confirm or reschedule my appointment, they would not call from a 877 number/call center.  Furthermore, they already sent me an email confirming my appointment.

I just ordered internet service 2 days ago from Charter Communications.  I gave my new home phone # in my contact information.  They used it to make an unsolicited call trying to sell telephone service.  Contact information should be confidential and not used for sales pitches. Bad company policy if they continue this practice.  Am going to register complaint with company & request they do not call again.

Have gotten three phone calls from this number over the last week... never left a message. Finally I called them back on my work phone and it was a lady from Charter Cable "confirming" my recent order. I have recently placed an order and she did seem to know the delivery times etc... so it was obviously convincing. It just was wierd.... she answered the phone too quickly for your typical utility company and she asked for the last four digits of my soc... eeee

I also recently ordered Charter recently.  I have already called and confirmed with them after placing the order online.  They keep calling, they left a message the first time wanting to confirm the order I already confirmed. Now they are continuing to call and are not leaving a message.

Got a call from this number too, but i ignored it. I also recently ordered charter internet service. I already confirmed my order and set up an installation time, but to be fair, the reperesentative that i confirmed with did tell me they would call again. Just annoyed that they called on the saturday of labor day weekend
