Calls twice a day (morning and mid-afternoon) while I'm teaching as a virtual teach and hangs up.

Received several calls from this no.  No messages left.  Am on Do Not Call registry.  Going to notify authorities about this harassment.  Comes up unavailable on caller Id.

Got the call today and the caller said it was GARD which is georgia animal rescue.
Said I already gave to this agency. Are they a scam? I don't know.

Claimed to be calling on behalf of The Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation.  Even if that's true, they're one of the worst rated "charities" in the country.

The do not call list is a joke. The criminal politicians we elect make up these laws and leave loopholes so their friends and contributors can go around the laws. The law is there so you quit complaining about the calls.

schmuck!, they tried to get me to promise $10 for printing the materials.  When I told him I had run a non-profit for several years, and am aware of the costs of printing, but it is morally wrong to get someone to pay for this process, he stated it was his bosses who make him say that.  So I told him if he mailed the information to our address, which he had before calling us, then I would seriously consider sending at least $10.  So far, no materials, but no further calls from him, either.  Trying to tell me his organization was helping veterans, and when I told him I'm helping one too, he just continued on with his spiel like he was a computer.  I finally got him to stop, and I asked him if he was interested in how I was helping a veteran, he said sure.  I said I married one, who was in Vietnam, so perhaps he should let me know what charity he was working for and I would be happy to find out if they could help my hubby.  He didn't give me more than "VFW."  Thanks, Matthew the solicitor.

I received 2 calls from this number this morning...about 45 minutes apart. Both times, they let my answering machine pick up and run before they hung up.

Careful with that whistle! You don't want one of those jerks to turn around and try to sue you for damaging their hearing.

I am getting fed up. This number has been calling my home at least once every single day. I just received 2 calls from this number within the last half hour. I've stopped answering since January, when I answered and a woman claiming that I had pledged money to the VFW was rude to me, saying they hadn't received my money. I told her I hadn't received any info from them. Of course, she offered to take my credit card info, and I refused. A few days later, I received pledge info from a VFW group in another state, so I am positive I had not pledged anything to them.
With all the calls I receive from people wanting donations, NOBODY will be getting any anymore.

My elderly mother is getting calls from this number.  She wanted me to check it out, and I have read about all the complaints from other people.  At least now I can warn her about this number.

These clowns have called me three times (twice in one afternoon) in the last couple days claiming to be from the VFW, following up on a pledge my wife had made- did she receive the info and mail it back sort of stuff. Condescending by nature.

If, by some small chance, they're legit, then shame on the VFW for hiring them.  An absolutely lousy way to conduct a fundraising campaign.

Most of the time I just don't answer unknown calls.  Now, I keep a whistle by the phone and when they start their speil or get rude, they get a blast! Very satisfying!

What's the sense in passing a law that isn't going to be kept?  This really ticks me off that these morons and idiots can get away with this garbage!  The only good thing is that I can "block" these calls on my phone and it will only ring once and disconnect, but I'm still getting the call weekly.  I called this number back and it's automated stating it's some kind of charity...........charity my @ss!  I say find out who this creep is who's doing this and throw'm into the street so he can get the cr@p beat out of him!  That just might stop him from doing it anymore!  Better yet........hopefully it'll start ringing in our "government's" offices and they can deal with it!

Great! I just paid another dollar to get this number and google it, and I find this!  I just promised a $10 donation to the VFW, these are the charities I just have to give a little something to in order to thank them for servicing our country.  I didn't give any financial info to them, they are sending me something in the mail.  I will give to military charities if they are legit, I am on the Joke-of-the-DNC-list also.....man, this sucks!!!

DirecTel uses multiple phone numbers, but the situation is the same.  

This is NOT an actual charity but a PAID donation solicitor!

Charities that are calling on their own behalf to solicit charitable contributions are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from or on behalf of that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000 ."

These calls are made by a 3rd party telemarketer on behalf of a charity.  (Another subject- how much of any phone donation made thru them actually makes it to the charity?!!!!  They do this to make money- they are NOT "the charity"!  I will be telling them NOT to call me again for ANY reason & I look forward to their penalty payment if they do!  DO NOT let them mislead you- their recorded message says since they're calling on behalf on a non-profit client they don't have to follow the Federal Do Not Call list!  The recording says you have reached the customer service line for "DirecTel" (sp?) Incorporated National Operations.

They MUST remove any one from their calling lists who requests it & face LARGE fines if they call again, no matter which phone number they use!

They called and wanted to know if I would confirm a charitable donation to the VFW. I didn't say anything, she said thanks and hung up. Did I have to provide any information, or can they just charge me?

It is not make a wish, but another charity that sounds similar. so people think that are donating to the make a wish foundation.

Just got another call from whoever they are, this morning.  I didn't take it.  I work late and try to sleep in.  I pay for "call intercept" ($8 per month) just to stop this garbage.  Now I have to add this number to the list.  I don't know why our government reps. can't stop this stuff...they have no problem robbing us blind otherwise.

I have received calls from this number too.  I also am signed up for do not call list but they seem to get around it.  It is a sham!!!! Please stop them from calling.

I get calls from this number at least twice a day.. It doesn't matter if I answer it or let the answering machine get it, they hang up without saying anything as soon as they hear a voice.  We are also on the DO NOT CALL list.

FRAUD ALERT: Today the Make-A-Wish Foundation received a call from a Michigan woman who was contacted by someone at this number, falsely claiming to be a Make-A-Wish employee wanting to know if she knew anyone who might qualify for a wish. When she offered that she might, the caller said she would have to give them money in order to receive more information about the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation does not solicit funds over the phone, nor would anyone from the Foundation suggest that someone would need to pay money in order to learn about how a wish is granted. THIS IS A SCAM. We are following up with appropriate law enforcement authorities.
