I ignored the call and  I am on a no call list.

It's the American Lung Association.  If you call the number back, it gives you the option to be removed from their call list.

Non-stop annoying calls soliciting donations.  Doesn't take no for an answer.

Keeps calling and calling and calling.  Blocked number so they started calling from 202-367-9124.  Blocked that number but they continue calling.  Are they even American Lung Assoc?

Given how the telemarketers, abusive charities, and scammers are using hundreds of phone numbers, a blocker based on phone number won't do well.  What is needed is a blocker that requires a "human caller" test before allowing through to a ring.  It might pick a random number and state that number by voice and ask the caller to punch in that number to be allowed through.  It should also have a list of priority numbers (e.g. for family and friends) that bypass the test.

Called me at 10 am Sunday!  I did not answer.

Don't need a digitone call blocker or Qwest - If you have a panasonic phone you can block the call through the 'block call' phone book. You will hear a partial ring when the number calls back, but personally, I like to hear that so I know they were trying to bug me, but they can't!
Scroll through caller ID, hit select and you should get the option to block the call.

Call the number and listen as it gives you a choice to remove you number.

they call at least 1-2 times a day with a lot of others and when you pick up, nobody is on the line. Or when my answering machine kicks in, they say nothing just let it run till it shuts off. We are older people and we can't run every time those people call. And  I am also on th do not call list for 800 #'s

They call EVERY day.  Yesterday at 9:00 pm, today at 8:50 pm.  This has been going on for months.  Why don't they give up already?  I don't pick up toll free calls.

Continue to get phone calls from these kind of area code phone number every week.  Suspected it a debt collector call for some unknown person whom does not live at this, our, address.  I have verbally informed caller that npo such person lives here and do not call our ohone number again, but to no avail.  So I simply stopped answering these kind of calls with a toll free area code.

This number is actually not American Lung Association.  It is MRS Collection Agency.  They also call from 202-367-9125 and 202-367-9133 using the Amer. Lung Association ID. It  is supposed to be illegal to misrepresent, especially via phone and mail,  but lots of luck with getting anyone to enforce.

They call several times a day and I don't answer..  However, the calls then busy out and they do not cancel the call so that it can fill up  my answering machine if I'm not there to pick up and hang up!!!  I do get calls that claim to be The American Lung Association, but this one says unavailable and I, of course, am unavailable also!

I bought a Digitone Call Blocker on line. Look it up. It is wonderful !  No more phone ringing from numbers you choose to block.  I have filthy crooks posing as the Wells Fargo Bank Overdraft Dept., American Lung and two more.  They pray on older nieve people to get numbers so they can steal your identity.

It is NOT the American Lung Association.  They say they are to get your credit card number when you are nieve enough to give it to them thinking you are donating....WAKE UP !

Charities are exempt from the do-not-call restrictions.

I just received a call today, Sunday, shortly before 10:30 AM.

I have had SO many of these calls lately!  I got fed up and called the American Lung Association.  I was given a different number to call - which I did.  The human there was polite and said my number would be removed from their list. If anyone else wants it....call

Received my first call from this number. Looking over the above comments it appears it is only the beginning. The SCUMBAG did not leave a message. Gutless pukes do not leave a message. Death to the SCUMBAGS.

I have received calls from this number and sometimes it says American Lung Assn.
and sometimes it says unknown.... I bought a phone/fax machine after 4 rings
it goes to the fax.. I do not have call notes or an answering machine.. it
has cut down the calls a lot.. I do not think this is really the Lung Assn.

I also am afraid they want my credit card # to use it for other things ..which
would cost me because I gave them my number.. all I can say is beware
and get a fax/phone/printer for $60.00 at Walmart.. the best $60. I
ever spent..Credit Card theft is one thing, but if you have given them your
number it will be hard to get it erased from your balance..
People do strange things when they don't have money..Beware !!

Just answer and tell them to hold on as you want to make a donation and then put the phone down, periodically pick it up to see if they are still there, if not hang up, if they are apologise sincerely for the wait tell them that you are looking for your credit card so you can donate a substantial amount and then put the phone down again. Might as well waste their time like they waste ours...

I have Qwest for my phone service and I can subscribe to a service which allows me to block 25 different calls. Just thought you guys should know so that if Qwest is an option for you, you can switch to them It costs a very minimal fee although I don't remember what it is. I just hit *78, put my password in and it offers me to add any number or the last call. I can't stand these calls. We used to get envelopes in the mail from a neighbor. Guess they didn't get enough so they require us to run to our phones to be disturbed. They don't know if we are crippled, have lung disease ourselves, or if we are home ill with the flu of something. They don't care. I wish the Government would get them to stop but the NO CALL LIST doesn't work because I still get calls form some Air Conditioning service in Phoenix and I don't even live there and some solar company. The more the push, the more I rebel!

I see these scumbags are pestering a lot of people. Unfortunately, the phone company DOES charge to block numbers; $6 a month and you only get to block 6 numbers! Face it, the phone company likes telescammers, because they get paid. My suggestion is to download a SIT tone (google it) and put it on your answering machine.

I too am on the Do Not Call list....and they just called me again this morning!! Haha its funny, as I am getting more calls now than I did before I selected not to be called!! The only thing I can suggest is too not pick up the phone or have your phone company block their number from reaching your home. Which I think is the best method. Hope this will help. By the way the phone company does not I don't think charge for this....but I am not positive.

Keeps calling, told them to stop I'm on Do NOT CALL list, they just called this  morning at 8:10 A.M.
I pick up phone and slam it down, however cannot stop the nuisance telemarketers.  Can't someone do something?

I AMon Do Not Call List but still cannot get these calls to stop.  Once I told them do not call but they still keep calling and I will not pick up.  How in heaven can this nuisance be stopped?
