Were you ever served papers? I received the same phone call.

I have been receiving very nasty calls with my info saying the same things you guys are saying and my sister is getting calls looking for me and they are very rude to her...this needs to stop! OMG!

We received same call today from a Nancy Turner/CCS Group saying they needed to send documents to someone (not my name) and needed our home or work address asap.  Even had claim#.. I never called back and know just bunch of garbage..we have no claims or debts so knew it is a scam.  Don't understand how they can get away with this...need to be prosecuted in my opinion.

I got a threatening call today from a person by the name ms turner says she has legal documents to deliver to me and would like to meet me and threatening to sent the police to my place of employment and to call some group name CCS GROUP and when i called the people there just begin yelling at me and I explained that I have a lawyer and to call my lawyer and then they said they cant because they need to get this resolve right away. I called my attorney and they told me THESE PEOPLE ARE LOW DOWN AND DIRTY AND THEY USE THESE SCARE SCAM TO GET PEOPLE TO CALL THEM BUT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING TO YOU. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THERE RIGHT AND TELL THEM NOT TO CALL ANYMORE AND BY LAW THEY CANT CALL

Nancy Cooper called me with this same scare tactic, I laughed, & told her to KICK-ROCKS.
After I hung up on her, she called back, trying to sound mean & official.
What a bonehead, I wouldn't give them one red cent !

You can't be charged with "check fraud" for not paying a loan back.  Debt is a civil matter, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested.  People also do not get a heads up that they're going to be served papers - the court process server just shows up, documentation in hand.

NEVER pay money to anyone unless they have sent you a debt validation letter showing original creditor, date of loan, amount owed, date of last payment, and whether their company is licensed to collect said debt in your state.  If they refuse to send you this documentation - which is legally required per the FDCPA - tell them you do not have to pay them anything.  No proof you owe the debt = no money owed to them.  

Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Let the caller know when she calls back that from now on, all calls she or her company makes to you, will be recorded (and do so) and you will be forwarding these calls to your attorney for your own lawsuit against them for the multiple violations of the FDCPA.

They are "against the law" - if you paid something to them, report them to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  If you paid via your bank account, please contact your bank and tell them it was fraudulent.   I would also close your bank account and have your bank open a new one for you, and have a fraud alert on it.

Yeah, but "bouncing" a check is not the same as check fraud. Having NSFs (non-sufficient funds) doesn't necessarily make it fraud, unless you're going around, intentionally writing checks from accounts that you know do not have money in them.

i also got a call from these people but when they call it comes up as blocked. kelly pierce keeps calling me trying to "locate me" to serve me papers. just like everyone else they have been rude, mean and threatening. i told them good luck getting any money out of me as im a single mom and currently unemployed and the woman i spoke with after kelly transferred me said to me in the most disgusting attitude "well i suggest looking up your check fraud laws in your state because you are going to jail. good luck" then hung up on me. SERIOUSLY? over not paying a loan? get real lady!

They have repeatedly called me, my step-daughter and husband (no telling who else) looking for my daughter. they threaten by saying they are going to serve her papers for writing bad checks. She has no checking account either! I wouldn't reward these folks with giving them the satisfaction that they scared me into paying a debt! If you want to pay the debt, go to the entity you owe. Don't pay these folks.  They should be against the law!!

there collecting on payday loans just a collection company dont listen to anything said by them there a scam and lying, new number 866-915-0085. you dont have to actually pay it back its not against the law

So today I received a call from a jerk named joe sanders and he was looking for my mom saying se had written bad chks and he was going to serve her legal papers at her residents and she was goin to be arrested unless I paid her debt and he was calling for ccs group so it was in my best intrest to have her cal him back

yep same thing js happend to my husband, this mark cooper guy called his sister phone this morning telling her that mark needs to get ahold of him cuz apprently he wrote a bad check,& he (mark) neeeds to serve him papers, either to his house or work. & i know for a fact my husband has never wrote a bad check, & i tried calling back that number  Mark Cooper guy called from & it was some insurance place thing. im like really uuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhhh i was so upset

They are saying you took a payday loan or something out and you "bounced" a check

This place is nuts a Kelly Pierce is calling my whole family even people i would NEVER put as a reference. Saying she is going to serve me court documents. When i call back and ask for her they said "shes in the field" I tell them i want the charges broken down into writing they said they dont do that just to give my card number over the phone. I told them to have Ms Kelly Pierce meet me to serve me and they had nothin to say soon as I metioned a lawyer they hung up. Low lives

We have been receiving calls from this company.  They are very agressive and we wonder why they are aloud to get away with making this fraudulent calls without being caught.  They keep saying something about faudulent checks and say we have been officially notified and now they are coming to our house.  They even said they were sending the Police to our home one.  They leave voicemails all the time.  We do not have any checks missing so we do not know what checks they are talking about.  Crazy.

My mother and I keep getting call from this number looking for my dads wife. saying something about fraud.how can i stop them cuz no way in hell my dads wife would use my mother and i a reference!

They are calling my parents, my work, my husbands cell - they are leaving very nasty messages. The guys name was Joe.  When you call them back they get very mean.

Just got this same call today. He said he needed to serve my husband paperwork for a notice to go to court and he was trying to stop that. I said i am sorry his not here may i take a message. took the message gave me all the info. Said to call the CCS Group ASAP so that we could stop him from serving the paperwork. So looked up, CCS Group 1-877-289-1220, only website to come up was this wedsite so if he calls back i will just tell him go for it serve that paperwork we will be waiting. Everything that everyone else is saying is the same thing that happened even the claim number that has the last 4 for his SS#. I didnt even notice til i read this. Just glad i looked them up before we called the people back and gave them money or something wrose.

Yea, I keep getting calls that make threats to meet me somewhere to collect the papers at my home or work.  CCS group. I have been warned! they say. They never did come to my home as of yet. I thought  that is not legal??? I'm taping all calls from now on.

Apparently, this company/person is making "it's" rounds. Some nut with an unknown number coming in on a private cell number left a message not for me, but for someone else! Stating his name was Joe Sanders with CCS Group, stating this person needed to provide a place of employment, or home address & that he had made attempts to contact this person, and needed to deliver legal documents for bad checks!!!! What in the heck!, Where are they getting their numbers? If they were an official debt collector, they would know darn well where to contact the person they were trying to call, and certainly where to contact them, such as address, and contact info. That was pretty funny about the previous post and them hanging up when they heard the harassed party was a federal judge (snicker... ) The good news about today's phone communication is, you can simply let voice mail take care of lunatics, and or poorly represented companies. Phone numbers are reassigned every day, and getting crack head calls from ??? is becoming more common and it needs to be stopped. Grrrrrrr

Threaten call saying I will be served paper for check fraud on a payday loan.always different names.. Once by Amy..another name Stephanie.. Call my friend.. Gave a code number and it has my last four numbers of my social security.. Says to call the CCS group.. Unless I get a prepaid debt card from Wal mart.. Who are the CCS group.. Thanks
