Wow....this lying scumbag scammer followed the EXACT same script - too the 'T' - as he did 16 days ago.

"Uhhhhh, this is Thomas Robertson of loan modification department.
My number is 877-290-1813.
We did get your request (No you didn't....I never sent one) for a loan modification (I have no loans to modify and if I did, it would be through the bank which the loan was granted) and you know, we do know you are having problems making your payments (No you do not know this as that is a lie) on your mortgage (I do not have a mortgage) right now.
So like I said, give me a call as soon as you get this.
Again this is Thomas Robertson of loan modification department 877-290-1813.
Again that is 877-290-1813."
I look forward to hearing from you soon."

I just got the same exact message on my house phone. We don't have a mortgage, never had one, we didn't ask for a load modification because we don't have a loan! And the part that clued me in was that they did not ask for anyone in particular. SCAMMERS!

I also just checked my caller ID and the number that came up was 213-363-5124 "TFZ LLC" - which when I googled it, there were many scams reported on this number, but "Thomas Robertson" told me to call him at 1-877-290-1813.

I got the same call, also.  However, I am looking to remodify my existing loan.  Here is my story.

I actually filled out an application a couple months ago through the "Making Housing Affordable" program enacted by Pres. Obama.  So when I got the message last week, I thought thet they finally made it to my application.  I called back today and as luck would have it, "Thomas Robertson" was in a conference call, go figure.

Anyway, what made this whole thing a little fishy was that their telephone menu did not mention their company's name or anything like that.  The first time I called, I got a "all lines are busy try again later" message and seconds later I called and got right through to somebody, but again, nothing that stated the name of the company.  I did speak with somebody and he went through this whole sales pitch about loan modification.  I asked if they were associated with National City Bank, and his response was, "your loan will still be through them, but with just modified payments."  Not a clear cut answer of yes or no.  That was another one of those "not so fresh feelings" I got.  He asked me roughy what my monthly payment was and how much I had on my left on my principle balance and then he asked if a specialist could call me back.  I said sure, why not.

After getting off the phone and not feeling completely sold on all this, I decided to google the 877-290-1813 number and lo and behold, found this website.

The specialist just called me back and the number came up on my caller ID as 1000 Modification 954-239-4333.  I told the guy right away that I changed my my mind and he hung up on me before I could ask him to remove my number from their list.  He didn't even try to "win" me over.  I checked my caller ID history, and a week ago, it came up as 213-363-5124, TFZ LLC.

Well, that is my story.  Hope others can use it.

Caller identified himself as Thomas Robinson (via our voice message system)and stated that he knew we were having difficulties making our mortgage payments and that he was from the Mortgage modification department and he was here to help. Obviously this is a scam but I decided to call anyway. When someone answered I asked them about the call and how they cam to the conclusion we were behind in payments. That person said they were with "mortgage modification" and that was all. When I asked the name of the comapny it was stated as Modifications Inc. When I told them they were running a scam they immediately hung up as soon as they heard scam.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. I will be in contact with BBB to let them know about this.
I cant believe they are still calling

Just received a call from Thomas Robertson. Received my request for a loan mod.
He was lying and I could tell. Tried calling back and he hung up on me. Please report to FCC and FTC. This is a scam.

Same as first reported above.  I too have never submitted anything to anyone of such.  I pay by bills off in full each month no matter how much they are & my house payment is always on time & in full each month.  I've never had troubles in my life (knock on wood) paying any bills!

Recording:
"I got your request for a loan modification & we do know you're having troubles making your payments on your mortgage.  Give me a call, my number is 877-290-1813

It's against the law for these messages.  File complaing with FCC.  I have on several other calls like this.  I'm getting letters back that they're using info to file complaint against said company & will contact me for further info if needed.  I've already filed on this place today.

Exactly the same experience as reported by everyone else, except I took the luxury of calling back and flipping out on the guy.  They apologized because they were looking for . . .wait for it . . . Sandra Martinez!  One thought - how come these guys never talk to me directly?  Do they hang up unless it is an answering machine?  Let's face it - a message left on a machine carries more weight.  No one would leave a message unless it was important, right?

I got the same message twice.  Thought, I better call in case they were confusing our account with someone else and didn't want them screwing up our account.  I thought it was wierd they didn't identify themselves as our mortgage company loan motification dept.  But, thought maybe they were being lazy or something.  So today, after second message, I called.  They said tell me what number you received the message at so I can verify your account.  I almost hung up then because I wondered why they didn't ask to verify our account number.  But, again, thinking what if they screw up our account, I gave him the phone number.  I said we have not requested a loan motification, nor or we behind on payments.  He said is this phone number for such and such martinez?  No.. Oh, they just misdialed your number.  Don't worry about it. Your account is fine.  I thought the whole thing was weird and I never would have verified my account number with them and all they had verified was my phone number so I came to the net (which, I should have done first if I had listened to my gut) and would have found this and not called at all.  Probably someone just verifing valid phone numbers so they can sell them to other scam companies or to use in another of their own scams!!!

Same experience as other two notes.  I called back with Caller ID supressed and asked to speak with a supervisor (Thomas of course was on another line).

I reminded the persona answering the call that my number is on the National Do Not Call List and that their unsolicited call was a violation of Federal Law subject to appropriate prosecution.

Guess what?  The line went dead as I was cut off - although I was sure I heard a great wrestling of paper like a for hire call agent fevorishly fumbling through a tele marketing Script
