Maybe they have a new number because they had to drop the old because of what they are doing. As you said, they said they were showing up at your work between noon and 5 and that was last week and they still haven't shown up. I will say this too, even if someone serving papers would call you, they most certainly won't be telling you when they are showing up because that just allows you to not be there.

I think persistanet is their motto. After not paying the rest of the amount "due", Adam Richards called again, with same story. Got the papers back, will be escorted by the police so he can get my signature, and he will be coming to my place of employment between noon and 5. This was last week. I was at work from 8-6. No one came for me. What. A. Joke. Also this time, it was a different number I had to call!! It was an 866 number this time. Interesting.

This was last Thursday, 4/25, and Mr. Richards hasn't called since. But who knows, mabye he'll call tomorrow stating he's coming to my home with the police.

I will give them credit. They are persistent. Anyway, the first time I got a call from them I was suspicious for several reason. First and foremost was that I have been served papers in the past over a small claims matter and as far as I know, they don't call you to let you know they have papers. They just show up and if you aren't there, they leave a number for you to call them back at. That has been my experience anyway.

Second thing is that on the last couple they have said that they have been by the house and no one answered. There is pretty much always someone at my house so they obviously haven't been by. So that is BS.

As others have said, the message says they will be accompanied by law enforcement. Again, in my experience that just isn't the case and as someone else said, the police have more important things to do then to accompany some process server to deliver papers.

The other big thing is something that I have seen mentioned on this thread as well. They say to call the number to stop delivery on papers. Again, as far as I know, once the papers are sent out by a court, they have to be delivered. Sure, the plaintiff can drop the case and you don't have to go to court if you make a deal before hand but at the end of the day, the papers still have to be delivered.

Yeup, that is true. And every debt collector I've had in the past, I have been rec letters/mail from them prior. I have NEVER rec anything from ICA or this "Quick Cash". They actually called again today, stating they have called me numerous times (or just once), and if I don't respond, "they will have to forward this back to the processor where then you will be served." What? Ugg. Wish I never called them.

Just rec another call from them today, actually. Said if I don't reply, they will have to send it to the processor and serve? Processor? Like the creditor? Serve me papers? Why being so cryptic? And why wasn't I sent any papers about this beforhand (another thing that should have told me this wasn't real). Ugg.

Also, a legitimate collector would MAIL you a debt validation letter showing the original creditor, amount you borrowed, etc.  NEVER believe someone who calls you out of the blue telling you that you owe - always verify.  If they say they don't know the original creditor or they can't send you any info via MAIL (not email or fax) - or if they say you have to pay today - then you can be sure they are scammers!

Debt Collector
Ugg, I wish I checked out this number beforehand. I too had been recieving calls from Adam Richard to call 877*293*3663. I ignored him for a while, because, frankly, I didn't have the money to pay back whatever debt he was calling about (I was pretty stupid when I was younger) and I thought it was odd there were papers I had to sign in order for him to do whatever. I've delt with debt collectors before, ligit ones, and none of them had something like that.

Finally, about a month ago, he called again and left a message saying he couldn't reach me so he is going to have to give the papers to this ICA (so why did he need my signature then??). So I ended up calling the number. Spoke with this "Mark", who was actually really nice. Said it was from a Quick Cash loan back in 10/2009, and now I had to pay $942.  It was around the time I took out payday loans, so I figured it was right. I told him I could only do $150, and pay the rest later.

It wasn't until after the phone call, I realized somethings didn't make sense. Like Mark said "Well, it's something that needs to be paid today," but then let me make a pymt plan? Also, every debt collector I delt with previously had ALWAYS lowered the amount. Because I was willing to work with them, they took the intrest away, and I only had to pay what I actually owed. The most I ever took from a payday loan was $300.  Also, I never took a loan from a Quick Cash name. When I was on the phone, I figured it was a bigger company that owed something else. But after some research, it seemed to be an online place, which I never did, always went in somewhere (and the two places I went to weren't owed by anyone). Another thing was, my beau said "I thought you already paid those." And I think I did. There were only two, but I've had other debts, so I can't be sure (didn't think to keep track of them, boo). The last thing that really made me look into this was the email confirmation they sent for the pymt (yes, I paid them, a mistake I'll never make again). It was from a gmail.com address. Gmail.com. Wow. Just wow. I wonder if I gave them a yahoo address, it would have been from there too. No company has sent me an email from a general email addy, always from a business one.

So, after finding all the info that this is a scam and  has been happening to other people, I reported the card I used to pay lost, so I could deactive that one. Last week the other "pymt" was supposed to go through, so they did call me, stating I needed to call them by 2:00 pm. 2 pm? Or what?? Well, I wasn't done w/ work until 6, so needless to say, I didn't call them back. And, surprisingly, they haven't called again. If it was a real debt company, they would have kept calling (trust me, I know), and they certinaly wouldn't have given a timeframe like that. Learned my lesson, that's for sure.

Todd - it isn't REAL DEBT idiot!  These callers are scammers lying to you to scare you into giving them money.  The person they called your house for doesn't owe them any money.  It sounds to me like they get their call list from pay day loan companies.  My husband took one out about three years ago for our business to make payroll - it was paid back within two weeks!  That's how they got our phone number.  They are blowing up my phone - calling 7-10 times a day including weekends.  One time I answered and there was only silence on the other end.  I will not answer again!  My next step is to contact the Attorney General's office in our state.

This ADAM RICHARDS keeps calling me from a private number. I have been receiving calls since January. We have 3 lines on our cell phone account, he's been calling all three asking for me. He's left this number for ICA 1-877-293-3663 for me to call, but the office is always closed. What is scary to me is that this idiot left a message and knew the last 4 digits of my SSN! Who the heck is he???

I got a call from some courrier in regards to someone else (Not Me) getting served. It seems like y'all are the scammers. I don't understand why y'all just can't pay your damn bills. Now I gotta get called because YOU scammed a company out of money. In my day, if you borrowed money you paid them back. Not dick around and make up excuses. Maybe you all should be responsible adults and pay you're goddamn bills. If I get a call again, I'm gonna personally call who ever they are looking for and put their a** on blast. Scumbags

Complete scam folks! If they were legit then they would definitely be able to give you more information based off of your "case #". Total scare tactic to try and make you give them money. Don't fall for it and go about your day. I've received several messages from an ADAM RICHARDS and when I tried to call back he could not provide me any info either from my case number and kept asking for my name and when I wouldn't give it, I was also hung up on. I've yet to have anyone, private courier or from law enforcement, show up at my home or place of employment. Don't worry yourself with their money-hungry SCAM!!

I reported this number 877-293-3663 to the FTC. It is a company called ICA and yes they are calling and harrassing and threatening people. They said they had the last 4 numbers of my social and that a case number and that I would be served at home or worked if I didn't respond. I didn't answer and I didn't call back. I have been divorced and I have claimed bankruptcy before and I have had small debts but am paying off the legitimate debts I owe. This is a scam of some sorts and I am not falling victim to it. Please beware and please report it.

I recieved a call at my mother's house from a "Chester Locklin" which i haven't lived there in over 13 years and by my maiden name at that stating they were going to send a officer to my work or home if I didn't call. I called and left them a message which when the voicemail picked up it just had numbers no name. They called back 2 days later and this time it was someone with the name Raymond Smith and he wanted over 1700.00 and a debit card number within 8 hours or he would send a magistrate that day to arrest me. I told him I needed to talk to my lawyer and he was quick to hang up. I called back to get the name and address of the business and it was the same voice but a different name. I asked to speak to Raymond Smith and he asked what I needed, I then told him I would like the name and address of the company and he put me on hold for a "supervisor". Another gentleman picked up and reluctantly gave it to me. He said it was ICA and their address was 5364 Industrial Drive in Las Vegas......I have reported them to FTC and my attorney general's office as well as gave the info to my lawyer.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

These are scam artist plain n simple. They are a company (possibly) that buys old debt that is close to point where the debt can no longer be collected/sued on. Do not call them back or return the voicemail. As soon as you do if this is an actual debt it might start that clock all over again as to how long the debt can be collected on; also as soon as they know they have a "live number" they will call and say ANYTHING  to make you give them money. They will call for more than a year. They will first start with the script stating a courier is coming with a sherif official to ur home/wrk if u dont pay; if your going to be served you do not get a warning your just served. I tried to get info from them on the adress or to send me an email of the debt which the rep said some stupid excuse of why the wouldn't and that they were based our of Las Vegas and the Mike Jones rep (lol) put me on hold then hung up. I talked to my state attorney general's office who recomended not to talk to or give them money if they didn't attempt to give me their company info as well as company liscensing number when i requested. I also reported the number to the Federal trade commission online at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en. Please if they contact you report them here or to your state AG so someone can stop the harrasment and bullying these people are doing. THe more reporting the more likely something can be done. Dont let them take advantage of you research, ask lots of questions and try to get in contact with the original creditor.
