Are you sure that you were really talking to someone from the Center for Disease Control?
If not, then you could have been the victim of a phishing scam.

I received 20 - 30 calls from this number wanting me to complete a survey from CDC. I kept telling them no, I did not have 30 minutes and was not interested. They kept calling and would not take no for an answer even though I told them several times to remove me from their list. I finally did the survey to get rid of them, even though I had company. It was full of very personal, disturbing questions. It makes me feel very angry at the CDC and unwilling to do any more surveys. I felt very harassed by this company.

the message also said they would give $40.00 to complete the survey and said to contact 877-287-3782

left me a message saying they were from the CDC and were asking me to complete a survey. They left a return number and requested I call them. They ended the message by saying they would call me again
They called back again, about 6 hours later and left no message.
