File a complaint with the FTC and the CFB. You also need to send them a cease & desist letter via the US mail, demanding your money back in full and send it certified or return receipt. Your entitled to a free report once a year from them by law BTW. That doesn't give them the right to start billing and they know it.  File fraud on every amount they have taken.  With your bank also. The bank has to stop this and thats that.  Tell them your taking it the FTC & CFB.  Also your state and their states Attorney Generals. Demand your money back, all of it!

Well, seems I have been royally f****ed because they are charging my credit card $29.95 a month!!!  I'm so pissed!! Been trying for now the third month to beat them to the bank and get the money out before they can take it but somehow they always beat me!  Can't get ahold of anyone at that number and I know how to get free credit reports once a year so I KNOW I didn't sign up for this!  Anyway, CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS CLOSELY!!  My husband is on disability and the IRS already gets some of his check so this $30 a month has really hurt us, hope these A-holes can sleep with themselves at night!  Good luck folks!

I was doing some budgeting and writing down all our monthly bills, when I noticed a $24.95 purchase that was named: "Debit Purchase - Visa Experian *cre877-2977790 Ca". I vaguely remember participating in a free credit score, but that doesn't matter. I shouldn't be charged monthly without my consent. I didn't recognize the name or remember making the purchase so I called the phone number it provided. It had a recording saying their business hours were Monday-Friday 6am-6pm. I would've excused it, but I felt I should research it a little further and found this website. I immediately called my bank and told them about it. They said they would do a thorough investigation and if they find anything wrong, we will be reimbursed in full. I am so grateful I caught it when I did. Get it done as soon as possible and stay away from this number!

I was billed 29.95. The exact amount that was in my checking account. I did not authorize this transaction. When I called the number it was disconnected. I reported this to my bank. They Immediately stopped payment and reimbursed me. This is a scam. Report this as soon as possible to your bank. You will have to get new cards but these people should be liable for what they have done. I hope my bank finds out who did this so it won't be repeated with others.

I had these charges EXPERIAN *CR 877-2977790 CA     Debit Card    ($32.35) show up on my account as well. Twice. Unlike everyone else I was not scammed. I had signed up for a trial membership at www.creditreport.com

It initially charged my account $1.00 to start the 7 day trial membership. I forgot about it... I fully planned on stopping it before the trial membership expired. So two months later I'm out $64.70 because they charged me the full membership price twice.

I went to www.creditreport.com and attempted a member sign in. I clicked the link for sign in help because I had forgot my username and password. From there it will take you to a screen that asks for your first name, DOB, and the last 4 digits of your SS#. Once you put all that in, it will take you to the next screen that asks you to answer security questions that I had set up when I created the account. Both were questions I regularly use with answers that never change. I answered them correctly.

The next screen provided me with my username: xxxxxxx@gmail.com and it asked me to create a new password which I did with no issues.

Now I was logged into the website as a member. I saw all my personal information as well as my credit reports from the 3 major agencies. I clicked on "Customer Care" from there I saw a small list of FAQ (Frequently asked Questions) The first of which was "How to cancel my membership?" It said to call 1-877-297-7790. I did...

The auto prompt advised to have my Membership # available or my SS#. DO NOT use your SS#. The membership number is located on the top left corner of the www.creditreport.com members homepage (You have to be logged in) Give the person who anwser that number.

From there I just told the lady I needed to cancel my membership due to financial reasons. She tried to get me to keep it open, I shut her down and said I just want it cancelled. No problem. She asked for my full name, DoB, and last 4 digits of my SS# which I provided... She cancelled the account. I verified with her that the charges for $32.35 where indeed from www.creditreport.com and they were. The dates my account was charged and amounts matched exactly. So I was 100 percent sure this company was where those charges came from.

So my www.creditreport.com membership is cancelled. They sent a cancellation confirmation to my email address. I am allowed to view the reports up until next month because I've already PAID for that... I should see no more charges via experian.

Now some of you may be scammed... However many of you may be like me and simply not remember having set up this trial membership. If that's the case, so long as you filled out your trial membership info that is true and the you will remember using. You should have no problem logging in as a member and cancelling that membership. I don't know how or why anyone would use false information because it is a credit check and certain questions are asked throughout the sign up process to verify your identity so that they give you the proper credit reports.

Hope this helps someone solve this issue. I know it had me worried until I tracked the website down and realized that it was a miscue on my behalf and not a identity thief or worst. Good luck all, hope you get this resolved as easily as I did.

DON'T go to view your credit report on Experian. I had a charge as I did not see any note that I was applying to become a member with them. I just thought I was paying the dollar to view my credit report. I had gone there as I wanted to dispute a couple of simple things like my address and my employer. Next thing I know I'm getting charged 21.20. I did call, I feel it was my mistake but chose to cancel my account. She went on and on about the service they provide, which I already have something like it but better. NO THANKS! I won't be getting a refund!! But I should hope I won't be seeing any more of these charges. Lesson learned! oh when they hung up they said thank you for calling free credit report.com. I have NEVER been on that site!

I called the number and the girl that answered said a person named Tara J. set up the account and I was being charged $19.95 per month.  I asked her where "Tara J" got my Card number and she said from online shopping.  I am sure that part was correct.  Said I would get a refund, this I doubt because she did not know who I was or where I was calling from.  So she scammed me again...

I am an elderly widow living on my husband's social security. I did the free credit score without knowing there was a 7 day trial and thereafter they would take $17.95 out of my bank account each month. Unfortunately for me I did not check my last months statement but did catch it this month. I called their customer care center maned out of the country. They will not refund me my money. We also were scammed, charged 19.95 since 1/12. We never give CC numbers out for our Debit card, so we wonder how they got that number. Cancelled the account and are following up with States Attorney General.
Contacted all of other accounts to put a warning on them.

Same with me. Got two charges for 19.95 four days apart from each other. Crazy!  On phone with CC company as we speak. They too said they see this one a lot.  This quack company needs to be found and the folks arrested. Why should we be so inconvenienced?

The CC company will handle this.

People, I know this sucks, but just call 1-877-297-7793, hit #1 and explain the situation.  They will ask you for your name and verify who the report was run for....you probably don't know them.  Then they will process your refund and give you a confirmation number as well as block you card in the future.  Pain in the butt, but easy enough.

My debit card was being charged $ 19.95 by Experian for the last three months.I never ever ordered credit report from anywhere!! I called my card company immediately. The first operator was a woman and she was no helps! to me. She told me to call that number. I told her that i want to dispute my card and she said there is nothing she can do! That really made me upset! I hung up the call and made a call again but this time i gave my authorize to my mother-in-law to speak. She asked an operator's employee's number and her name. This time went pretty good. My case is sent to Dept. of Fraud. They will shut down the card and get a new card for me and also refund money! I am wondering Is there anyone of you have an account with US bank? and This happens to US bank account holder only?. I really feel unsafe to have an account with them now.

I went on the Experian site some time in 2010 and thought I had made sure I read the fine print about signing up for anything monthly. I just wanted the one time credit report!  Long story short, I was ill for a long time and didn't realize that my bank account had been charged for almost 2 years on this $19.95 fee. I started putting a stop payment on the fees (which was only saving me $5 a month because my bank charges $15 for each stop payment). I finally called and was given that same story about giving them the credit card I used. I explained that it's coming right out of my bank account so if I used my credit-debit card, I don't have that same number any more and I absolutely refuse to give my bank account number! I resolved to go to my bank and all they can do is give me the number to call again. They can't stop the company from charging it since I'm the one who initially had it charged. I will have to close my bank account and start another one which is absolutely ridiculous but if you don't want to have happen what happened to me (the payments to just continue on and on like this), this is what you have to do.

I also noticed a charge to Experian with *CREDITREP 8772977790 CA" in the Purchase Description of my CC statement.  Luckily, I found this site and read the posts here. I called my CC company and explained the situation. They cancelled my CC account, gave me a new card within 2 days (with a new account #), and had me file an unauthorized transaction report. They said I was not liable for fraudulent charges, and they refunded my $ in full.

Thank you for posting here!  :)
