Did anything come of this I am having the same problem!!
Just received call from people saying the same as Amy's. They called my relatives and thank goodness they realized it was a scam. Wish I knew who these people are. I have a sealed Notice of Intend for them also
We received 2 calls from this number today (9/26/2012) saying that there were "sealed documents" on a "legal matter" that they would be by on Friday between 12 and 5; that this was simply a courtesy call; that if we had any questions, we should call this same number to reach their claims dept. Vague and sketchy, no name, address, or business name.
I just got a call from this number though they have tried to block it. My home phone number shows the number anyways but it is blocked on my cell phone. Why are they blocking the number? WEll i called her back and she said she is a claims office and they are trying to serve me paperwork from a bad check claim through a pay day loan company called Paradise Cash and that I owe them all this money. I did take a pay day loan back but paid back the principal and then my account was closed by the bank for a phoney check that was written to me to be a mystery shopper, there is so much scammery going on, it is incredible. I do not owe them all this money--I borrowed 300 and paid them back 300 so this is total bulldashery. They are a pay day loan company that does online pay day loans.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
if you want help with debt collectors and collection agency . research the internet, there is tons of information out there. I recently found this company called Consumer Credit Helpers 855-673-1988. It looks like they have been helping alot of people who are in the evil grips of the collection world. Do your homework!
Same here. She gave me 3 days but gives no info on the voicemails. It's very vague and sketchy. Have not returned the calls and won't. If I haven't received something via mail then how coulhube legit
I have got calls from 877-297-8101 for over a year. It is always someone saying they are a process server but REFUSE to identify a company or their name. They wont give details either. They are now calling my wife and other people I know saying the same thing about me. Today my wife got upset with the lady and so the lady responded by saying, "you are the rudest person I have ever heard, so I am just going to take your husband to court!" I told my wife to tell her to save it and just tell her to take me to court next time. Hopefully they will get me in court before I find out who they are and punish them. I have identified this number through reverse lookup as a number belonging to a company named Level 3. I am sending them an email throught their websites Contact Us link to inform them a number of theirs is being misused. I suggest everyone do the same. The website is: http://www.level3.com/en/contact-us/
I continue to get calls from this number and now they are calling my wife and other numbers of people who know me as well. They say they are a process server and REFUSE to leave their name or company name. My wife became annoyed and so the lady said, "I have never heard anyone as rude as you, I guess I will just take your husband to court!" I told my wife if they call her again to tell them to take us to court or stop calling, what can we do to punish these people. It has been going on for a year!
Receiving phone messages every day for someone who has not lived at this address for over 3 years. Same scenario as already listed. The person, who does not identify herself, insinuates she is a process server of some sort and will be delivering a "certified legal document" for this person and he had better have a valid ID when she shows up at his home or place of business. She keeps giving a different date and time. She has given at least two other 877 numbers that she says he can call to try to get a stop-claim placed on her showing up, but this one she uses most often. I have called and left a message to stop calling me to no effect. So, I have reported this to the FTC and the state attorney general's office.
calling every relative i have to try to get a hold of my son. it is a scam and they will not give any information. say they have sealed documents that will be served at home or at work. they call and give the above 877 number to call with a case number. p8e9
did they tell you they have sealed documents for you and money owed that's what they are telling us
