Got a call from this number at it was my mortgage guy asking if my refi went ok. I think when someone from corporate calls it shows up as a default number. The call I received was legit.

I got a junk mail letter offering me a "FREE ANDROID TABLET COMPUTER!" From some scam shop out of Las Vegas called "DUDLEY MEDIA GROUP LLC".
The letter said to call 800 302 8914 to "CLAIM MY FREE TABLET!"...
No thanks, didn't just fall off the stupid truck...
I hope they go broke paying postage and getting no replies/calls.

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

call came from 877-302-4273, but, talked with customer service, they did not call and would not leave a vm message of "hello...hello ....hello..." they would identify themselves a Chase, state reason for call and give details to demonstrate not a phony inquiry.

I just got a call from this number, looking for a Patricia S.  on my cell.  I used to get calls years ago from people looking for this person.  They did not say who they were, but I gave them hell and told them to not call me again.

Not knowing whether this was a legitimate number, I called the number on the back of my card.  I told them I had a call from this number and after checking it out they informed me that this is one of the numbers from the Fraud Dept.  They checked and found that there was an alert placed on my debit card.  I was transferred to the Fraud Dept and was asked about several transactions on my debit card which turned out not to be mine.  They had blocked approval of these transactions because there were too many and in higher amounts than I usually charge and these were all the way on the west coast and I live on the east coast.  After confirming these weren't my charges my card was cancelled and a new one was ordered for me.

You don't have to take my word that this IS A LEGITIMATE CALL FROM CHASE FRAUD DEPT., but if you get a call from them, just call the number on the back of your debit/credit card and let them know you got a call from this number but would like for them to verify if there is any problem with (or any alerts placed on) any of your accounts.  If there is a problem, they will likely transfer you to the Fraud Dept.

Remember: Even if the number *is* from Chase, caller ID is so easy to fake you can't tell if that's the number that is really calling!
NEVER give these people any information whatsoever. Hang up and call the number on the back of your credit card. If the call was legit (unlikely) all you'll have lost is a few seconds of your time.

It's Chase. They called. Asked for info on my debit card after they verified info with me. I said I'd call Chase directly, they had no problem with it. No attitude. I called Chase back and there was indeed two charges for over $500 on my business debit card. It's legit #, but still good practice to call your bank directly rather than believing someone over the phone.

I agree with spoiler.  We just called the number on the back of our Chase card and he verified that number was not associated with Chase.  Looks like we have some crooks posting on this site trying to add validity to a scam.

This number is legitimate. You can find it on the Chase website. "Call Telephone Banking at 877-302-4273 (877-30-CHASE) to link your accounts." Based on some posts, the number may have been spoofed. If in doubt, get an extension number and tell them you'll call back.

It is not a scam. My debit card was cancelled due to charges i the Netherlands that just happen to empty all my money.
Do yourself a favor-call or answer. It's the Chase fraud department

This is Chase's fraud department. I didn't believe that it was them, based on this site, and called the number on the back of my debit card. I also checked my account online and found that there was fraudulent activity on the card.

This number IS LEGIT.

Thanks to this website, after receiving a call from this number, I checked my account online and found that several unauthorized charges had occurred.  I called the Chase 800 number on the back of my card and went through them (who I knew I could trust) to fix it.  If I had not checked out this site, who knows how much money could have been stolen!

This is a scam. Most popular around the holidays. People in this post trying to sell you it's legit are no doubt participants in the scam. Most people in the post are telling you it is indeed a scam, because it is.
This is a very easy fix, don't give out information, don't return the call. Just call your branch.

I received a call from this number. When they said it was CHASE FRAUD Dept and wanted to verify info - I told them I would call CHASE directly. They made me feel good about it by telling me to call the number on the back of my debit card and ask for the Fraud Dept. IT WAS LEGITIMATE!!!

Got a call from 18773024273 asking me to call 18003555625. Got suspicious so I called the number on the back my card. It was a legitimate call and someone had gotten hold of my debit card information (someone bought gas in Tennessee with my card D:) . They ended up transferring me to the guy who originally called. After he told me he would give me a new card, I mentioned a lot of people think this number is a scam. He told me to do exactly what most have suggested-- if you are suspicious, just call the number on the back of your card.

Gee folks, a lot of you are paranoid.  I received the call today on my way to work from the Fraud Department at Chase.  There was an unauthorized charge for $1.72 at a Super 8 in Lexington, KY.  She verified several transactions that I did, where they were and how much.  She cancelled the card and I have a credit for $1.72 back in my account.  Sucks that people steal your hard earned money.

Here is the information from the Chase website:

Financial Tips for a Natural Disaster

1. Make sure you have cash access and enough cash on hand for immediate needs. Take your ATM or debit card with you as you evacuate.
If you don't have an ATM or debit card, you'll be able to get an ATM card at any Chase branch in the area where you're staying. Find branches in your destination area.
Link your savings account to your ATM or debit card if you want to be able to transfer money to your checking account. Call Telephone Banking at 877-302-4273 (877-30-CHASE) to link your accounts.

Here is a link just in case you need to verify it. https://www.chase.com/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/shared/corporate/page/gustav

I got a call from 877 - 302 - 4273 today. the lady told me there were suspicious transactions from my account and they need to verify them. i did not make these transactions, so the lady told me they will cancel my card and send me a new one. for that i had to give her my mailing address - and i did.

after the call i got suspicious because i googled the number and got to this side. so i called the customer services center from chase bank to confirm the call. they told me my account actually did have transactions i didn't know about - i even checked online.

so this number is REAL. but if you're not sure about it - ALWAYS call the customer service number on the back of your card!!!

This is a fraudulent number. As soon as my wife got a message from these people, she called Chase and was transferred to the fraud department. Here debit card was compromised as someone had tried to spend $1000 with a Preeclampsia foundation. The people at this# ARE the one's doing the scamming though and no doubt have some sort of tie in to the fake Preeclampsia foundation. Chase said the# IS NOT A CHASE NUMBER. I believe that they are trying to call you to confirm(phish) all your details when your card gets declined when they first try and use it.

I received a call from this number and was told it was from Chase fraud dept. I didn't call the number they left on my voicemail instead I called the Chase number on the back of my card and sure enough the fraud dept was contacting me. My card had been blocked because there was fraudulent activity on my account! My money was refunded and they're sending me a new card. In this case it wasn't a scam but you should always call the numbers you know just to make sure.

Actually, this call was in reference to some information I requested from Chase about a device to scan and deposit checks at my business. There was no request for any of my information except my business e-mail to send info on the check system. My business banker told me this person would be calling, and did give me his name. Nothing fishy/phishy about this call.

That is a correct number.  I saw these posts as I just got a call from the Chase fraud dept.  I called back from the numbers listed on Chase's website, and it was legite.  I gave the guy this number, 800-355-5265 and it is an automated verification number.  I would much rather speak to a person.  In my case, someone had gotten my debit card number & there were charges pending.  If you aren't comfortable calling the number they leave, call the bank back at the numbers you know.  In my case, it saved my account!
