I didn't sign up for anything. Why did they call me?

"Lauren" has a new coworker and a new email address. The same phishing is being sent out as "Brian West" at localvisible.com.

I have received this email as well. I googled her email address and found this page. I will not click on the links. I will just mark it as spam.

I got the same kind of e-mail....

I got one of these too. It looks like they use a variety of similar business names and web addresses. They try to make it look like they are a research organization rather than a business.

If you have some time go to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website to enter a complaint www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.

The complaint gets entered into a database available to law enforcement officials all over the country. It only takes a few mins. to enter. Oh and don't ever click unsubscribe or any link.

Thank you for saving me time as my business is at a critcial point. I can not afford to waste time on something like this.

I just got one of these emails myself.  And boy did it sound too good so i decided to google this company.  Glad you folks wrote these warning posts.  They certainly helped me. Ii am deleting these emails from lauren and her fake company.  Thank you again for posting your experiences.

Got another email from "Lauren" only the website is now LocalVisibility.org. Not going to bother with a whois search since I strongly suspect it'll be about the same as the other.

Very desperate to get your $. Don't trust them
and never provide any info. Spammers!!!

They provide tracking link for each business. They will call you back if you click it.

you'll noticed that they don't have any contact information page such as address, etc... if you check out one of their website. i believe one is not working and the other have the same format but different links

she also uses 646-810-8662.

I search for that address she had there on the email she sent me and it came up this:

BEWARE PEOPLE..... DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING OR GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT.  NEVER NEVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT..!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your posting. It's scary.  I also received an email and a call later from Lauren Phillips.
After reading all the postings here, I noticed she uses lauren@localevaluator.com. And the email she sent me, she uses lauren@localvisibility.org. Beware business owners!!! Don't believe in these kind of stuff through emails and calls from these people. The best thing is to work with known company and locally. You can check out localvisibility.org and try to call the number and you'll see. It's just a message saying that you can leave a message and someone will call you back.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS JUST TO REJECT ANY EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS WITH ALL THESE OFFERS AND GREAT IDEAS AND YOU'LL BE SAFE. JUST LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED BECAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE A COMPANY WORKING ON IT OR IT'S NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR BUSINESS.

Received email with the above phone number listed for  a 'Lauren Phillips' of 'localevaluator.com'.  localevaluator.com did not pull up any links online; the address in the email I received pulled up a post office box company.  It's fine to have one's official address as a post office box company, but not to have a dedicated email address without a website attached.  I also received this at my personal address and not at my business company address, but with my actual business postal address.  I will include the email without the links and with my contact information redacted.  I cannot figure out how to get complete header information out of AOL; unlike yahoo, hotmail and other 'free' services (let alone paid) AOL doesn't make it easy (or possible?):

Contact number listed for a "Lauren Phillips" at OnlineVisible.org. Recieved unsolicited email saying they could improve our online visibility. I did not click on any of the links, not even to unsubscribe.

Research on onlinevisible.org revealed that the whois information is blocked (suspect) and the site is only two months old (also suspect) and they are already resorting to spam (strike three). It smells like those calls you always get asking you to "confirm your information to update your free online yellow pages!"
