This number is a part of Careers Inc, which is a verification service for employers for hundreds of different job boards. I'm a representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting a text from us on this number.

We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact information is correct. Employers use Careers because they get such a massive response to job postings. It's very hard for any company to sort through interested applicants - people are not reachable, their phone numbers are disconnected, or their email is invalid or typo'd on their resume. This leads to frustration on both ends, where applicants receive no response and employers get bad contact info for an otherwise qualified individual.

Careers attempts to contact applicants to confirm that their information is correct - if it is not, then we help them to correct it and update the employer on the applicant's status.

We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I called this number back and what Careers said is true. I was skeptical at first but it was just a real easy 10 minute call, they didn't ask me anything weird or try to sell me anything.

so received the same call of course.  like many others out there applying for jobs and searching for opportunities, i stumbled upon this place through hotjobs.  they say that they 'submitted' my info so it can be reviewed by whomever, but i am very skeptical. the 'interview' started off ok when i called the number, but once the 'chipper' young lady on the phone realized i had a somewhat specific goal for education she immediately ended the conversation and hung up.  seems to me they are only interested in vamping up some educational firm of some sort. i am pretty sure i didn't even finish filling out the actual online application because nearing the end that is all they wanted to get me to do was sign up for some schooling program.

just my thoughts on the matter.

I also got a txt just now. I've been looking for a job for a very long time, and this number woke me up when it used my name and ask me what job I have been applying for. I'm still skeptical to call.. Sorry.

I was also very excited to get a text message which made me think I might be getting an interview, but it was a Careers Inc. telemarketer verifying my info. When I told her my plans to go back to school in a couple of years, she politely ended the conversation. Nobody hassled me though, and they didn't ask for any information beyond what they already had from a job to which I had applied. I'm not sure the job was real.

I got a text from this number and called it back because of what was posted. It was accurate, they just asked me to confirm what was on my job application.
