received letter with this call back no.

This number 1-877-305-1985 was for me to "op out" of my high interest rate of my Shell Oil gas card.  Quextion for YOU-----WHAT IS THE PHONE NUMBER FOR A VISA CREDIT CARD?

PLEASE REPLY IF YOU HAVE IT!

I got the same letter from Citibank, I called the number (877-305-1985)for about a week straight and all I ever got was 'all lines are busy, call back later', so I gave up. Googled the number and found this site, what a relief, I thought someone was trying to get a cc in my name as I don't have a Citibank card either.  

My letter is referring to my Phillips 66-Conoco-76 gas card.  And the last 4 digits they were referring to are actually the 4 digits before the last 4 digits! And on the back of my card it does state this card is issued by Citibank...

I received 2 "notices" from "citibank" on the same day utilizing 2 different variations on my name stating that they were going to be changing the terms of my credit card with the account ending in XXXX.

What is completely ludicrous is that I have never had a card with citibank, and the "accounts" are bogus they refer to.  This is a total scam, and I can see by the posts that this is fairly new as of October 2009.  What is unique is that they are using snail mail and not email.

I hope these jokers have had a nice laugh because law enforcement will find them soon (as well as Citibank.)

Don't call that number 877-305-1985 number!!

1-877-305-1985  Sent a letter telling of changes to my account ending in XXXXX.   Of course I had NO citibank cards.

I was confused by the last 4 digits of the account number until i realized that I was looking at the card number on the shell card which is a 5 digit number listed after the Account number on the front of my shell card.  So the numbers were correct.


I did see the numbers but not at the end of my account. The numbers were in the middle.  I DID NOT SEE SHELL IN THE PRIVACY NOTES.

Can this be called a scam? Got the same letter with the same number to call to opt out. I don't have any credit cards with Citibank nor was the ending number matching with any of my credit cards.

This number is for the Exxon-Mobil credit card, which is administered by Citibank.  

I got a letter today about a change in terms.  I called Citibank and I was perplexed, because the numbers on the account did not match any Citibank card that I have.  When I Googled the number and found this threasd, with the references to gasoline companies, I figured it out.  The letter is about my Exxon-Mobil card -- the numbers match.  The letter should have mentioned Exxon-Mobil, in order to avoid this confusion.

Got a letter with this number from Citibank. I don't have a Citibank account. Called, got generic hold message, held for a few minutes. Called back later and they were closed and said to call back during normal business hours?? Didn't give a company name or what business hours were.
