Called their # back to find out who they are and how get off their call list. Response was that the answer service was too full to another message. I'll not be answering any of their calls.

Has anyone on here got a magic jack that Charter is sabotaging?   I do.  They make my calls drop and the person I call cannot hear me.  It is maddening.  I have written to the local Mayor because both providers they contract with are very bad.  AT&T stayed down almost as much as it was up.  Now Charter calls, even from blocked/private #'s.  When I threatened to file a BBB complaint, they began to make my calls completely drop.  My call gets hung up.  I think they listen in to my calls too.   I say we all file BBB complaints and call local news/stations and papers.   First, write your city fathers if you have no other good option to switch to, or if you are under contract and cannot legally dump them for this.  If you city fathers are honest they will quickly fix this.  I suspect, today, that my mayor is not because he has not acknowledged my email yet.   I just sent it, so I will give him a few more days.   Anyway, anyone with magic jack issues, kindly post here, too.   You can demand them stop harrassing, and if your city fathers don't make them quit then file a BBB complaint and call the news.  I am doing it.   So weird, my computer has a Charter adv on this thing...is it Charter who we are blogging this to...to their evil deaf ears.  Anyone see a Charter add on this blog besides me?

Have gotten about a dozens calls in the past two weeks. They never leave a message. Through the miracle of modern technology, I am now forwarding these calls to Charter's main number (888-438-2427).

I have put my name on two block lists since my internet installation:

I have still been receiving the calls 2-3 times a day from a variety of (877) numbers, all with no voicemail. I finally answered today, and it was automated for a few seconds before a service representative interrupted. As expected, he wanted me to get the cable (I told him I do not watch TV) and the land-line (I said I talk to people in person). He re-enforced the land-line idea by implying I could use it for emergency backup (who trains these guys?) I told him I barely use my cell. Now that I've answered and declined in my best Christian Bale Batman voice, I expect the calls to desist. If they don't, I will take advantage of BBB and other avenues to stop this abusive robo-calling.

They call. I have charter. An it is the worst cable / Internet service I have ever had.

i got these message called Charter and  they removed my name from list very simple and easy and also the rep took a report to be sent to coperate offices if you cal them and make them aware thast it it dosent stop you will be cancelling service they get right on it

I have blocked more charter spam calls on my cell.  I'm really getting tired of this

i get a call from this number almost daily, 3 or 4 times, i have let it go to vmail and no message is left.

Calls twice a day.  I never answer.  They don't leave a message.   I'm on the don't call list.

It's Charter. It's not the first time they've called me. They're just checking in with me to make sure that everything is running smoothly and that I'm happy or if I have any questions. The last time was maybe 3 months ago. They do try to soft sell me on a land line but you can't blame them.

They've been nice and easy calls.

It would be nice if they left a voicemail.

Yes it is Charter,  Good to know that they will take me off their list.  I have their services and they want me to have my phone service too.  Given how my cable TV works - I don't think that's such a good idea.

Great information. I verified that my phone number is still listed with www.donotcall.gov and used the link to Charter's privacy page to let them know that I don't want them or any of their friends calling me and using up my minutes. Like most that have posted, I am on month to month with Charter and I have no interest in any contracts. I only use the cable for internet, but I have the basic TV channels since the package is less expensive. I don't watch TV and I am not going to add any levels until they off al a carte subscriptions. There are only 5 or 6 TV channels that I might watch, but to get them all would be well over $100/month at the moment, which I am not going to spend.

They call me about every other month to try to get me to sign up for a different plan.

I called the number back today and it is Charter calling to let me know about promotions that they are having. I asked to have my number removed from their list and was told that they would remove my number but that it takes 20 days to remove my number from all of their lists.

I just called this number and asked them to stop calling.  They put me on their do not call list, said it can take upwards of 20 days to go into effect but after that time they will never call again re: special offers.  No nonsense, no "are you sure?" guilt trips, just "okay, what number were we calling, k sorry about that."  

The number itself is probably not Charter itself but just a special promotions firm, all the telecoms use them to try to upsell customers on crap like digital phones.  They're licensed, they're legit, and ***they'll go away if you just ask.***

I was getting these calls also, then I realized that I had forgot to pay my bill. Would be nice if they left a message or sent me an email since they can do that. Signed up for paperless and email notification from now on.

Just call your phone company and have a block put on that charter # and if they switch #'s do it again. also file a complaint with the feds.

They'll tell you they can continue to annoy you for up to 20 days after you ask them to be put on their company's do-not-call list.  That's a lie.  By law, they must stop immediately:

Getting calls almost everyday, sometimes twice a day.  Charter is the worst company I've ever dealt with.  Filed a complaint with the FTC.
