Was Blue Cross Blue Shield HealthCare Recovery requesting further information regarding a claim that was paid. They were trying to determine if the injury was related to an accident they could subrogate

These people call me EVERY day, even after I completed a survey and answered their questions. Was in the hospital for colitis......nothing to do with an injury. What do they want???? I called the number they left and got a message that it was a cell phone and the caller was unavailable. Sounds sketchy to me. I will not be returning or answering their calls.

This is a very common insurance practice known as subrogation. It means that your insurance company is investigating to see if someone else MIGHT be liable to pay part of the expenses of treatment. How do I know this? Well...I worked for an insurance company that did just this and got ot know WAY more about the process than I ever wanted to know. AND, I've just been called at least 3 times successively by this number...for just that purpose.
By the by....this is NOT anything to do with Obama or the affordable care act. This actually has more to do with the rampant deregulation of the insurance industry that was begun and has been propogated by Republican politicians. What this means is that they can write laws and regulations that make it more difficult for YOU to collect YOUR benefits from your PRIVATE insurance. Trust me, from the inside, I can tell you that your private health insurance company is NOT doing anything to make it easier for you to get what you've purchased from them. They are not on your side (unless, MAYBE you are insured by one of the non-profit companies in the country), and are NOT interested in making sure that you're healthy. Their goal is to make sure you are not a cost liability.

I was nagged for six months by these people - all I did was fall off a horse, my horse, while on my property. I paid all my hospital bills and the Kaiser co-pay but kept getting letters then phone calls insisting I needed to "Let them know if anyone else was liable" for my injury. I called back four times and left messages with the information they wanted - the time difference meant I was getting the letters/phone messages after work my time - late evening their time.
I finally left a message telling them I was going to complain to whomever I needed to and would raise every kind of stink if they didn't stop because the tenacity with which I was being pursued felt like I was dodging bill payment, I didn't owe anyone money and I wasn't going to sue anyone. The very next day I received a message - a woman in very terse and abrupt tones - to say they "got the message - just thought they'd let me know"

This is not something that has not been done before, and it is part of insurance companies policies. Has nothing to do with the current president. Read up on things before posting irrelevant information.

well the mega healthcare company's lawyers are at it again, they want money from me. if they want money they should sue the "other" guys insurance company.
but here again lawyers do not sue other lawyers.
kaiser health care company wants pocket change from me, when they are making billions of dollars each quarter.
i could not even get a lawyer to take my case, cause i did not have a broken bone or bleeding. only bruised.
i will have a bad back till i die...but this was not a $$$$ reason for any lawyer to take my case.
now this mega rich company's lawyer wants me to pay them. s*** i only got a couple bills for me. and my truck was totaled. i came out from this broke. i should have gotten in the 10's of thousands..not pocket change. i was lucky i was not killed the other guy was doing over 95 mph when he crossed the center line of the two lane back country rd. (45 mph speed limit area).

I received a call from this number while deploy. They left a voicemail but can't understand what the lady is saying. I have better things to do then deal with this sort of stupidity. I guess if they actually need something they will call back.

The same as Shirley I received a phone call from this number. The caller left no voice message.

This has nothing to do with "Obamacare" as you call it. This has been a normal operating procedure for insurance companies for a long time. If they can substantiate that the claim could have been paid by another insurance company (someone else's auto insurance, if you were in an accident caused by them; someone's homeowner's insurance if you were hurt on their property; workers comp; or many other situations), they will pursue the other insurance to recoup their costs. Nothing new about it at all. Why they're calling with an "unavailable" number is beyond me.

| NOT a worker's comp case 2011-04-19 20:00:17 Unknown |
I had an accident at work - it was NOT work related. I did NOT file a worker's comp claim. I DID have to see a doctor and have physical therapy, which my insurance approved and paid out on.
Since then, I lost the job and lost the insurance. This HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS wants ME to do all the work for an investigation FOR THEM so they can recover the money spent on my rehab.
They sent two notices by mail. I told them to do their own investigating. Now they are calling. I don't answer.

This is a call from HealthCare Solutions. They are a company that your health care provider uses to follow up on claims they have paid out on that could possibly recovered on from a third party due to a accident etc. Our situation was that my wife had an XRAY of her wrist that had a growth on the bone. So since they thought it was an XRAY for an accident the were following up on it.
