Got a call from this number looking for an ex-husband from 10 years ago.  Stated they were a mediation company and when questioned, hung up.

No message left...

My brother called me to report receiving a voicemail message on his home phone from someone identifying herself as Mrs. Hoskins from an entity called CRA.  A case number was provided.  The message said that it is "imperative" that the call be returned immediately by my ex-wife.  She and I separated in 2001 and were divorced in 2002; I don't keep track of her and don't even know for sure what her last name is since she remarried a few years ago -- there is a reason she is my EX-wife. CRA is obviously a debt collector.  I don't understand why my ex's creditors are calling my brother, her former brother-in-law, to dun her.  Where do they get their information?  My brother lives in another state and didn't even have his current telephone number back when we divorced.  I called the number provided, 877-311-7782, as a courtesy to inform CRA that their information is faulty and request they remove my brother's telephone number from their system.  I was kept holding nearly 20 minutes and then hung up on.  Seems shady to me.

This also happened to me.  I have NO DEBT and haven't had for over 15 years...  I do keep up with my bills carefully because of stuff like this.  HOWEVER, there were two fraud charges taken from my bank account 2.95 and 87.13, referencing this same phone number.   I called my bank, we filed fraud against them, I had to cancel my credit card and get another one re-issued.  So you see, it's not happening to just the people who owe debt!!

The caller, Donna Carter, asked on my voicemail for an unknown person that does not have my number. Anyone out there had an unknown name asked for?

Have you considered paying your bills! Stop blaming everyone else for the problems or bad luck you have created.  You make your own luck.

My mother recieved the phone call while I was at work.  A man named Oston Kitchen told her someone was trying to use my number and they needed to know if I had knowledge of it.  I called, the company was called CRA.  Mr.Kitchen was not in I spoke to Mr O'Deer.  He told me someone had filed a 1099c with the IRS in my name and that I was responsible for the taxes on a credit card debt form 2002.  I told him that was an indentiy teft and the 7 year statut was up.  He gave me a bunch of double talk about IRS collecting taxes from me on my debt.  I told him I did not understand what he was talking about after several minutes he finally said I will write if off good bye.  Still not sure what he was trying to do.  He never idnetified himself or his company as a collection agency.  I thought it is illegal to falsely identify yourslef in order to collect a debt.  Why are these people still in operation.

MY ? IS IF YOU DONT HAVE MONEY TO PAY YOUR BILLS? HOW DO YOU AFFORD THE INTERNET? WE SEE WHERE YOUR HEADING DEBTOR.

Got a call today..rude lady, but could not understand name. Love the notes about paying your bills from the earlier posts..I guess they have never been in a financial hardship..I only have debt because my husband of 20 yrs died unexpectedly, and my home was foreclosed on (over 10 yrs now)

I RECEIVED A CALL AND COMPLIED.  NOT SURE WHO YOU GUYS SPOKE WITH BUT THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL.  HELPED ME GET OUT OF A RATHER LARGE DEBT THAT I OWED FOR A VERY NICE SETTLEMENT.  MAYBE IF YOU ALL WILL TALK TO THEM, THEY CAN HELP YOU TOO, UNLESS YOU JUST DONT WANNA PAY YOUR BILLS.  IM TRYING TO IMPROVE MINE AND WANT TO SETTLE AS MUCH AS I CAN....ESPECIALLY IF I CAN SETTLE FOR LESS THAN I ACTUALLY OWE!!

One more new trick --  the call shows a local tel # on the caller id and then you can hear a click when transfers to the real number.  They then tell you to call back to 877-311-7782

If you validated debts correctly, you would not have as many judgments against you. It must suck working the junk debt markets....get yourself some new paper :-)

Please check the statute of limitations in your state for debt collection. Most likely, your debt is too old to be legally collectible. If this is the case, get their address and send them a cease communications letter. send the letter return receipt requested. If they contact you after receiving the letter, you can sue them for damages.

Got a message on my cell phone from this number by a woman named dotty, she said she had some information come into her office, and she wasn't sure if i was fully aware of the situation and that i needed to return her call.  Needless to say, i wont return the call

A man called from this number and said he was Mr. Struther and left a reference number..it was urgent that he speak with me...call immediately 877-311-7782....had one last week also. Not returning call.

A woman called and asked for my uncle and i told her to call back because my mom wasnt home becasue she kept asking me weird questions , and she insisted that i talk her number because she was going to a meeting and said her client got  paperwork from my uncle and put our phone number down as a reference. So i took the number and before I could ask her named she'd already hung up...

Called my house looking for someone I haven't dated in over 10plus years wanting me to give them his phone number which I obiviously do not have.  The person they were calling for has lived in Louisianna for over 3 years.  Telling me why did he give my number as a contact number I told them he couldn't have given my number as a contact number because he doesn't even know it.

Called and left me one of their silly messages from a minimum wage making drone.  I called back to get their exact company name so that I can sue them for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act of 1977 especially since I have no debt. Contact Ms Underwood in reference to #436445 when I call a man answers and will not give me any information until I answer his questions. These people call my job all day long and it is beginning to cause problems with my employer. The number is 1-877-311-7782 that continues to call me.
