Called to let us know our 18month subscription was up for Optimization with Google, Yahoo & MSN and we needed to pay $499 and renew for the next 12months. They said they spoke to someone in our office who set up the account. They also said they sent us a letter a couple of months after to cancel if we did not want this service. We never received a letter. Now they want us to sign a form to cancel but still say we need to pay $499 before they will cancel our account.

Just received a call from this number stating that they were calling from American Business Network and that our one year subscription is up and if we would like to cancel it since we didn't get any hits on the website....said that we owe $499.00. We didn't even have an account set up with them in the first place...BE AWARE...I THINK THIS IS A SCAM OPERATION.

Addendum:  Address traces to Carefree Salon & Spa mailbox in a UPS Store.

This traces to American Business Network who claims to have a verbal agreement for their services (Improving search engine listings leading to our website).  They can't prove anything, but keep calling and sending past due billings.  Most recent call on voice mail was Sandra Higgins, 877-313-9439 ext. 306.
Google has American Business Network  and adds scam as a suggested link.

I received a call from American Business Network that said I owed $499 for a web site listing on google. I did not authorize this listing and they have no signed contract. They also waited 18 months to bill me. They said I signed up in August 8, 2008. They had my business address now, but my business address was at a different place at that time.  This has scam written all over it. I talked to a Melinda and Lori.

American Business Network called and left a message that I needed to call about an invoice number...Call Sandra. I did call and just got a message to leave a message.  They answered the phone Corp. office.  Sounds like from the other posts this is a scam.  I don't plan to call her back.
Sounds like they are calling healthcare organizations.

Oh, and as an aside.  I googled mapped the address with the satellite view, and it appears that it's an HVAC box on the side of the road.

same crap. they cant produce a singed contract. dumb scam.

Receive calls advising our company signed up for advertising and we need to pay $499.00, Sandra also advises we will need to pay balance before we can cancel the service which no one in our company had authorized.

Received message to call about an account renewal, but when they answered it just said corporate office and transferred me where I sat on hold for a long time. I did not know if it was just charging up my phone bill or a legitimate call.
