They get your e-mail and cell phone # and start sending you texts and junk e-mails - AVOID these scammers. I got this call right after I ordered something from Wal-Mart.com. I'm starting to wonder if Wal-Mart is in on this, too, else how did they get my cell phone # ? Wal-Mart sends a text message tolling you your order is ready for pick-up.

I just got this text.  I agree with Sue about this being related to Facebook.  I wanted to play some game on FB and stupidly gave my cell phone number.  Better check your phone bills.  I got hit with a $10.00 charge.  Verizon gave me the number to call to stop the monthly charge.

I got the same txt for the walmart gift card.  I decided to call back.  They wanted my name and address.  At the address part, I asked what I needed to do.In order to get it you have to subscribe to some magazines.  At that point I said I wasn't interested, and then they hung up.

I set and talked to the 20 old kid after talking for a while it was easy to see what the offer was all about. It is a boiler room where they hire kids and try and sell things, primarily magazine supcrictions for about half of what you would pay at the stand they quilfial then turn it over to a closer. I remember when I was 18 in 1972 and was in need of money the first telemarketing job was selling tickets to the firemen?s ball in Denver ( tuff sell to firemen ). Then in 1973 while in the Navy I tried selling waterless cookware Florida (telephone list we used was high school graduates list) Then had to set an appointment to demo. Remember it does not hurt to listen you might even get something you want (rebates that save you money like a 100 Wal-Mart discount card. Just like a 10 % off at McDonalds coupon book. . Remember never send an code that a web site sends to your cell phone then never enter the code in anything. Not stupid to give out Address however never give out inf on when you will be at work or away from home...

I just got the text "Thanks for visiting our site call 877-314-0070 to claim your $100 WalMart Gift Card. Txt STOP to be removed." The call originated from 813-481-5054... I was not visiting any sites.. don't plan to call them to claim any bogus card...and probably will just call Verizon and ask them to block the number if they send more texts or ring my phone. I don't answer calls that I don't know and I don't like texts from unknowns either!

Only thing I'm fairly sure of, these scammers can't charge you for calling back an 877, toll free number. But, you should be able to call and complain that this number is being abused. Got to be some federal agency who we can bother about these scams.

I just called the number from a business line a few timest and all I can say is that these people are definitely not legit.  Everyone I spoke with sounds like they're 12 years old working out of their beest friend's tree house or their parent's garage.  They don't waste any time in asking for your personal information but they will not share their company information with you if you do not adhere to their call motto.  DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!! God only knows where your prsonal info will end up.  Bombay, Zimababwe, or Panama maybe??  If you want a good laugh, I suggest calling the number, though.  They are so shady and seriously sound like they are 12 years old.  All the operators get rattled when you ask them something remotely complex that requires them to think - for example, why did I receive a text from you?  BEWARE!!!

Obviously, all of you fell for the same Facebook scam I did about a free iPad. This is where they got your info from; you agreed to let a "trusted" Facebook "partner" have access to your FB info. I will never, never again trust a Facebook promotion. I have complained about this one to FB and so should all of you!

To stop these calls, call the one who is selling you number. Call 1-800-345-5866 then press 3. Make sure you call them at least 10 times in one day. Company that is selling your number is Carol Wright Gifts. They need to know what it feel like getting these stupid phone calls and text messages all day long. As far as Scammers they are on the top of the list.

I just got a similar text message and I would assume this is a scam. I would not call the number 877-314-0070 or send a text message back to the sender +1 (706) 386-1431. I assume they are just phishing for info and you will likely receive a big bill or worse if you do respond. Besides that, the message is very vague stating "Thanks for visiting our site" without giving any clue as to which site. These are sure signs of a scam.
