These people have been threatening me for a year now.  They call multiple times a day, every day.  They use all sorts of rude, abusive, and threatening language.  Say they are going to garnish my wages, and income returns.  Funny thing is, I have never had a student loan, all my credit cards are paid off, and I do not owe anyone any money.  My credit score is around 800.  No I am not going to give them the last four of my social security number, no I am not going to give them my maiden name, no I am not going to call them back.

Just got a call from this number.  They wouldn't speak nor leave a message. Looked up the number they called from and they were spoofing an electrician's phone number out of California.  Bunch of garbage they are for doing that.

Student loans are a crock of crap.  Its disgusting how people are put in debt for education and most of the time end up in worse shape then if they never went to school.  I say dont pay them, ever.

1) never acknowledge that you are who they say you are.  Remember you are just a voice on the other line (if you even bother to pick up I advise you dont) they dont know jack.  You might have just gotten the phone number assigned to you and who knows who it belonged to before.  Keep that in mind.

2) Never acknowledge the alleged debt. EVER.  Once you do then it becomes your problem as you admitted to it.  Always say you have no clue who they are and what they are going on about.

3) Tell them to stop harrasing you or you will take legal action.  They hate that.  They bought this debt off someone and have no vested interest in you or anything except the money.  You have what they want and you have the power, not these idiots.

4) Put them on call block, or change your number.  I have done that many times and have not had to pay for it.  Just tell them you are being harrased by someone who is looking for the previous owner of the number and it wont stop.

These companies dont come to your house or work so dont worry about it, they are small and dont want to pay a dime towards harrasing you becasue that is money out of their pocket and they already paid to get this debt in the hopes they can harrass you until you give in.  Huge scammers all of them they need to die in a fire.  If they mail you anything just write "moved" on it and send it right back.  NEVER acknowledge anything to do with it, dont provide them with ANY personal information not even a fake name just tell them to get lost and leave you alone... and enjoy your life as best you can, its short and will end too soon as it is.

This person named David has been calling me constantly from the above listed number, (ext. 53081). He said he is a debt collector and has demanded that I pay 34,000 dollars on a student loan. He asked personal information and requested a payment be made on the spot with a debit card. I will be contacting the better business bureau.

I have survived cancer 3 times, have other health issues, and cannot work, so with an attorney, I filed hardship papers over

11 yrs ago. The lawyer told me that student loan faxed them and even called them and said I do not owe them money, as 2 times

I was on my death bed, but I fought hard, and to this day I am still fighting to live. I had 3 different Dr's sign the

papers, I did everything I was supposed to do. When they call me now, I tell them I will go back to my Attorney and they tell

me loudly, ohhh NO, NO, NO you do not need one, that tells me they are trying to scam me out of money I do not OWE! They are

just buying up those accounts that they see that has been dealt with by hardship, hoping that now we are fine, but not in my

case, I could die anytime. They do not care. I have no money, and I do not owe them money, but my mom is offering me the 100

bucks I need to go back to my Attorney to sue these ppl for calling me at 6 30 am, and they call me up to 4-5 times a day

Just received a message from this number regarding collection on a past due debt.  This cannot be true, the only thing I do not own is the balance of my house mortgage and I pay that electonically, on-time, every time (I even pay $50 extra a month).  Based on comments of the above post from Ban, I am assuming it is a scam, perhaps on my student load that was paid off 2 decades ago as well.  I am particulary suspicious of this because they called my work phone number.  That is the number I use whenever I am required to give out my phone number for online purchases or other electronic transactions.  I am in luck because at least they do not have my home phone number. The message identified this firm as EOS CCA Collection Agency and a google search produced a website and also a website doumenting complaints against them.   I have the message saved on my phone and will transfer it to my recording device.  I will also do some research this weekend on my rights and their rights regarding this scam and then I am going scorched earth on these bums.  Every phone call will be recorded and every persons name will be documented until I have a great case for the state attorney's general.

These things that are calling R nothing but debt collector for out dated, and expired. Tell them u have a bone to suck on.

COLLECTIONS ~ TRYING TO COLLECT WHAT THEY CLAIM TO BE A BALANCE ON A SCHOOL LOAN WHICH WAS PAID OVER 30 YEARS AGO!

My apologies for yelling but these are the people who have been harassing me for what seems like forever calling over & over & hanging-up.every time!  This time I called them back & was shocked to hear a real live person answering.  He went through all this trying to get my personal information to verify who I was & refusing to identify himself.  I told him no way & he rattled off my personal information which he already had on his screen.  I told him not to call again but who knows.  I don't know if a collection company can call out of the blue & attempt to tell me I owe a balance from back in 1982 for a student loan my father paid off in full with a cheque I know he wrote "paid in full" and the account number in the bottom line of the cheque.  I have not heard a word from them since & they haven't touched my income tax refund either state or federal over the last 30 years!  Isn't there a statute of limitations on something like this?  How can they make any claim of a debt which they can't prove & unfortunately my father has passed away & I know he kept meticulous records but I doubt they survived 13+ years after his death.
I decided to leave this on 800Notes in the hope it will help someone else who is also getting calls from
these folks.  The weird thing is they have used this same number for years & I've seen this number come-up on my phone so many times I knew it was a junk phone call & I remember the number due to the frequency of their calls.
