This number is a part of Careers Inc, which is a verification service
for employers for hundreds of different job boards. I'm a
representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting
a text from us on this number.

We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions
across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact
information is correct. Employers use Careers because they get such a
massive response to job postings. It's very hard for any company to
sort through interested applicants - people are not reachable, their
phone numbers are disconnected, or their email is invalid or typo'd on
their resume. This leads to frustration on both ends, where applicants
receive no response and employers get bad contact info for an
otherwise qualified individual.

Careers attempts to contact applicants to confirm that their
information is correct - if it is not, then we help them to correct it
and update the employer on the applicant's status.

We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not
charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond
confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I received the same text after applying for a job posting.  I returned the call, and the was asked questions about my application.  When asked if I was interested in continuing my education, I replied no, and the conversation came to an end.  I think this company is recruiting students for  sort of school, and has nothing to do with the job posted.  Just an other scam.

There are a few problems with the explanation from the poster here who claims to be a representative of Careers, Inc. First, if the company is legitimate, why doesn't the number trace back to them on an internet search? There's a "Careers, Inc." Latin American search firm, but they're apparently unrelated. Secondly, the text I received mentioned a specific job - one I hadn't applied for! Third, they're claiming the call is so employers can correct resume mistakes such as," their
phone numbers are disconnected ( Really? How are you texting, then?! ), or their email is invalid or typo'd on their resume" ( That wasn't a problem on anything I'd sent out ). Well, you don't have to be an HR expert to know that, in this market especially, those are automatic applicant disqualifiers no matter how great the rest of the resume is, since it shows an undeniable lack of attention to detail - a key requirement in any professional postion. Can't see anyone hiring a third party to figure that out. And again - why a text and no call? I'm guessing the poster who stayed on long enough to hear the 'buy our courses' pitch found out what this company really wants..

I received the same text with the same zip at the top.  They wouldn't divulge any employer information.  I called back a day later and they were very hedgy in responding.  Yesterday they said the call could take anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes...It took about 5.  I tried accessing their website (same page as employment dash, btw) and kept getting an error message when I clicked on search jobs....  For someone seriously looking for a job, this is a pretty cruel scam...Any of you pilots out there??

I just received that same text stating they wanted for me to call back about a Customer Service job. She wanted to verify my information and stated that she had received and application. The funny thing is that I never put my home address on any application or resume as I use a P.O. Box, and she gave me my own home address. She also could not tell me who the "employer" was.

I got the texted and called, they just asked me some questions and confirmed the information I put on my resume. I was a little surprised I was texted and not called or emailed, but it wasn't a big deal. The header (for the sender) was 56030.
