Received a call from #515-678-9538 as well as this # 877-330-0510 stating my credit card (Granite State Bank C.U. and just simply Credit Union) was deactivated. I don't do business w/ Granite State Credit Union, or any credit union for that matter. This is obviously fraud and a scam!!!!!

Like everyone else here, I got this too. I did freak out for a few minutes, but then realized the text was from "Service C.U." which is a credit union I have no affiliation with whatsoever, as well as some of the grammar ("call urgent at 877..."...yeah okay). This is some real BS if you ask me...I'm mostly pissed they woke me up though.

I also received a text message this morning at 7:41am (EST) from 'Unknown'. It reads "This is an automated message from Service C.U..Your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate call urgent at 877-330-0510." My mobile phone number is not widely known, I have no accounts at an institution remotely like "Service C.U.", and the grammar is questionable. It is an obvious scam.

I also have Facebook mobile, so who knows?
Kelly 2009-02-06 15:31:16 Unknown
I got the same message this morning. Does anyone here have Facebook mobile? I didn't get any messages like this before I signed up for Facebook mobile, which was recently. I'm thinking that's how they are getting cell phone numbers, unless you guys don't have Facebook mobile. I thought it was sketchy so I google the number, and this came up
RonR 2009-02-06 14:46:09 Unknown
Got this message "ApplicationCenter / This is an automated message from Service C.U. . Your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate call urgent at 877-330-0510"
I can't believe they can get away with this, I'm going to contact the Service Credit Union in my area and warn them about this apparent scam.

I got the same message to call in to this bank and reactivate my ATM. Would like to speak to a real person to give them a piece of my mind about this hoax but have not had much luck tracking the origin just yet.

Same here from the 877 number... i tried it out with obvious fake info.. like an expiration date of 2868. lol it said numbers could not be found, call banks 24/7 service for further questions. did not provide number or bank name. FRAUD...
and fyi 617 area code I believe is Massachusetts

I got this txt msg this morning. Is there an organization i can forward such messages to? FBI? I hate to think that some people are falling for scams like this. Who knows my brother in california is calling this number right now to give out his cc #?
louie 2009-02-06 14:36:50 Unknown
a scam....we all nn to notify tmobile we're getting these texts
Mickey 2009-02-06 14:19:45 Unknown
Clearly this is a scam! Do not give out any info.
Adah 2009-02-06 13:47:21 Unknown
I received it too. It was stupid of them to send it at 7:30 am when really no bank or bank services are open. Freaked me out for like 2.5 seconds though.

I also received text message from the 877 number. I agree it is a scam. Sadly, they have found ways to collect cell numbers.
Ashu 2009-02-06 13:39:31 Unknown
Yep, got an exact message this morning. I hate the fact that we have to pay for receiving this garbage!

I have gotten 2 texts, this morning being my second, both saying: Application center/ this is an automated message from Service C.U. Your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate call urgent at ______________.
Both have included different telephone numbers. I knew the first was a scam immediately because no bank has my cell phone number plus, why would they text me. Also, this first number had a 617 area code I believe so that immediately tipped me off that it was fake.
