I received this call today when I was out. If it is MS, that is interesting because MS called me just yesterday and said they're not asking for money, just me to give out letters to friends, which they will send to me. I agreed, but not sure what these letters are or how many there will be. But why would they call back today?

This message comes every day and i never answer it as its a scam i sure.

Call- annoy me - no message.

Caller requested to speak with my wife, we changed the phone directory to identify if they are using a phone list.   I assume they are looking for donations, but not so sure???  They did not leave any further details.

I get at least 2 calls a day by the various #s: 8773336679, 4162330220, 4162338978, 8666556731, 8778783815, 8778571144, 8888065954. Enough? Thats just 3 days worth.

Receiving calls from this number daily at random times.  Today they disconnected after our answering machine picked up, resulting in a 5 minute message on the machine with the disconnection sound. I called the number.  It is in fact the MS Society looking for donations.  You can press an option for having your number removed.  You then enter your ten digit number.  They have a disclaimer saying that Federal Law does permit them to take up to 30 days to remove your number, but they will do their best to remove it within the next few days.

Received a call and picked up this time and it went directly to a dial tone. I called back and had to go through electronic prompts to get my number off their robocall list.(time will tell)  If his is MS Charity fundraising, then why does caller display show up as anonymous and they must have raised substantial funds to afford such elaborate electronic system with all the different phone lines?? I called 800-361-2985 and spoke to someone named 'Tanya' and she claims the are the MS Soceity and not a telemarketer firm. I explained the situation to her about their phone calling system,how it looks like some sort of a scam and if they are a valid charity they should correct this problem and not harm the good name of the charity by being posted on blogs implying something different.

It is NOT Earthlink (whatever that is) or MS society.  The7y are also using the numbers 877-878-3815, 877-857-1144, 877-878-0954 and this one - 877-333-6679.  I also get 866-655-6731 which might be them too.  Look up the comments on 877-857-1144 - it seems like there was some creep trying to find out where a young girl went to school...That really made me worry about these calls.  It's possible they are looking for kids!!!  Maybe if you sound young enough they talk to you & try to get information about where you are located!!  Do you notice you get hang ups from this number & they never leave a message???  SOME people get someone on the line, but many people are just getting hang ups.  

It's possible that the numbers really belong to earthlink or MS society, but I don't think those are the numbers that are actually calling!

Phoned would not leave a message or name on display. I do not responed to such calls.

It,s annoying and abusing the system, should be stopped somehow.

I sent the email at the bottom here and above is the response I got.  No calls today so keeping my fingers crossed.  I'd suggest everyone bombards them with emails....then they'll have to do something:)

We have been receiving an inordinate number of phone calls from your society.  However there is NEVER anyone at the other end.  It is only through dialling the numbers that we discover these calls originate from the MS Society of Canada.  So far, we have received calls from four different toll free numbers.  These calls come at all times of the day and evening. Often we receive as many as 6 per day. This is completely unacceptable.

If this is how you think we are going to donate to your society you are strongly mistaken.  MS is a dreadful disease and needs to be fought. However the money being spent on these, what can only be called nuisance calls, is a complete and utter waste.   We will not be donating to the MS Society until this practice is stopped.

Please remove our number from your call list immediately.  It is

No-one at the other end.  I called each number back and got the same message...Multiple Sclerosis Society.  I have emailed them and told them that I will no longer be contributing to their society until this annoying practice is stopped.  Everyone should do the same. It saddens me that a society fighting such an awful disease would stoop to such depths and alienate so many potential supporters.

When I called the number it was the MS Society. They also call regularly from 866-665-6731, and possibly also 877-857-1144 & 877-878-0954 (the last 2 according to other people's reports).

Press one for the first option which I believe was a prompt to learn more aboutMS society then follow the prompts to remove number. They don't make it easy for you. Just did it and it said could take up to 30 days!!  Good luck

I have had several calls from this number every day for the last couple of weeks. Finally today I called the number back and it says it's the MS society of Canada but it doesn't give you any options to remove yourself from their call list.

Every two to three weeks I receive calls from some organization that wishes to pick up old clothes. If I gave every time, I would be walking around naked!

I am getting phone calls from this number far too many times.  Please make them stop this.  I have no money to donate to any one

They asked to speak to my husband and I said he is not in.  But please remove our name from your list.  She said "No, I will call back again" and hung up in my ear.
