I applied online for information for college and scholarships and now all of these type of solicitors keep calling. I did not check off any box hat I wanted them to call me I prefer email correspondences.

Signed up for a possible scholoarship through my school and received a phone call the very next day. Identified themselves as Degree Counseling. Wanted to send information on schools in my area. When I said I wasn't interested, she hung up. I could barely understand her and could hear SO MUCH BACKGROUND noise. She had to cover the phone receiver and all that did was muffle her.

It was the college clearing house. You can call it back to get an automated response, press 1 to be removed from their call list, then enter your phone number, then press 1 again. It said it will take 24-48 hours to completely remove it, but that should do it.

I got several calls from this number too but since I do not recognize it I let it go to voicemail where they do not leave a message, surprise, surprise..... I'm guessing it is not something I want to answer?

I just got a call from that number and I was laughing. First of all how did she get my maiden name? I haven't used it in 25 years.
But she did leave a message. "I'm looking for Joelle ______, hello, hello, hellllloooooo, where are you? Are you home? Are you out? Hello?" Then she says my name again, but this time it sounded like she was laughing or fake crying. I mean what is this? Wacky people....
