You're partially right.
With the limitation is that you have 2 years from when you became aware of the issue to begin legal action in the courts. HOWEVER if the person or whatever has proof of contact then the 2 year limitation resets.
Any entry to your credit record will remain there for 7 years. Again if contact can be proven that 7 year limitation resets as well.

This number keeps calling me for somebody named Michelle. They're making an error by calling me, a teen that does absolutely nothing with their life. :/

Maybe you should read the rest of messages on this post - everyone says they've answered and got the runaround..myself included. It's a blatant scam.

They have called me 43 times in the 2 months I've had my phone?!!!
They do not collect for rogers because I have never been with them and never will.
And they kept on calling me so I blocked them, it's that easy!!! All you do is:
1.Click on the Info button on the right of the number.
2. Scroll all the way down to the bottom.
3. Click on block this caller.
4. Block contact will pop up in red.
5. Click it!!!

maybe you should answer your phone to see what theyre  calling for and maybe they'd stop calling!

No, that is not it! I don't have my cell phone number on facebook... I don't owe anything, they are looking for someone else, plus I have had the same phone number for years and I started getting this calls about a month ago...

I started receiving calls from this number 2 days ago. There is always an automated message like "this is a personal business matter and we wanna talk to you, press any key on your phone" and when i press a key, the line hangs up.  I still dont know the name of the company but upon checking this number on google, I came to this site. Dont know where did they get my number from but its really annoying...  

They call and said that they will be at my place of business to get me to sign something unless they get a stop order. I should call this number to talk with them to get a stop order placed.  LOL A stop order for what?  I'd like to see this person go to my place of business (disabled and at home.. haven't worked for 2 years)....  each time they call they try to sound stern.  At no time did they say who they were or what it was all about.

If you feel like trolling, tell them the person they're trying to reach can be found at 867-5309, have someone use an East Indian or Chinese accent, or get them going with a soundboard.

Personally, I just send the asshats to voicemail, as I am usually at work when they call.

this company has called over and over. Not for me or my husband... but my house for my mother-in-law that does not live with us. It does not say it's global something... I called the number and gave them the ref # and she said it was for her... The machine that answers "Lanigan, McCarthy & Associates" Um, I am 100% positive she is not behind on anything.

You can have debt from things other than a credit card. For instance a cell phone bill.

Keep getting calls from these people and the message they leave are automated and with no indication of what or who is calling. It says I have an unresolved business matter with them and to call back. I am sorry but I am not calling back an automated message that leaves no indication of what or who they are.

I received about 6 phone calls from this number about each week now. They called me and put me on hold.. Then some guy answered and mubbled then i hung up. soif they call back again ill tell em straight up the f off

Not only that which 17 year old do you know that owe money to a credit card or whatever. First of all you need to be 18 to even receive a credit card. so please call me again? From my cellphone.

Just lie and say this is cell phone, a law passed calimg to advertise on cells is illegal that'll make them stop :)

Have received many calls from Global first they asked for a guy that used to have my number, then they asked for his girlfriend. Have told them multiple times they don't have this number. I blocked their number, now they call from different numbers

I sometimes try to start random conversations with the people who call me. Like "Hey man... how's the weather at the scam office?"... they usually hang up. Ah well. Just trying to turn a negative experience into a positive experience.

This number will freeze your iPhone if you try to hang up.

You are constantly calling a BUSINESS!!!!!!! STOP!!!!!!

Received a call from this number today and returned it.  They were looking for another person and they removed me from their list once I told them it wasn't me.

This and many other phone numbers like them keep calling and leaving "beep beep" messages on my new phone number.  I will report this further and will not answer any numbers with any 8## because of them.

actually statue of limitations only means they cant sue you for the debt dosen't mean that you no longer owe it...a debt is a debt you will always owe it unless you file bankruptcy or do a proposal

If you have an android phone, add this number (and any other number) into a contact, then set that contact to go directly to voicemail when it calls. Your phone will never ring. :)
