I live in Canada. I have a situation like everybody else on these notes. If you are the owner of the company: VHR Inc., I'd like a refund ASAP please! I had purchased a package for 6 days, 5 nights in Dominican Republic for US$451.78 on 10/Aug/02, Since then, when I called back to book for the trip, or fax the reservation form in for travelling, I got no replies from anybody from your company for a long time. Later on, all the phone numbers I was provided by your staff were changed. i I couldn't contact anybody anymore!
I'd like the money returned to me ASAP, and don't want anything to do with your company ever again.
If that doesn't happen, I will do whatever it takes to contact the RCMP, FBI, Florida States, local police, BBB etc. to have this matter resolved.
If you are a ligit company, this a terrible customer servive of a business that I've ever encountered in 30 years living in North America, regardless what your excuses were! Thanks!

Who are you talking to? The people who run this scam don't run this website, and except for an occasional shill posting, they probably don't visit it either. They are long gone with your money and running the same scam somewhere else with another phone number.

You didn't do "business" with "business people", you were robbed by scammers. The travel scams are all over the web and not just on this site. Too bad you didn't do your research before they stole your money.

Hi, I bought a package from you guys about ayear ago and you guys have gone MIA.  I'd love to know who i can get a hold of to discuss getting reimbursed for the charges on my credit card as well as the plane ticket i bought since you guys (Tania - representative, and Iris - customer service person or the lady who picks up the phone as soon as you call) all said it was confirmed and then nobody returned my calls when i asked if it was 100% booked.  So thank you a**-holes for leaving me with 950$ on my visa bill, 4 plane tickets that never got used/refunded as it is a NONREFUNDABLE ticket!! so i am sorry but i 100% want my money back for this damn vacation that was supposed to have happened 6 months ago.  I tried to call to discuss this a couple months ago and every single number i have has disconnected or not in service or leads to an RBC bank..... i will be claling my credit card company, the police, and HUNTING you guys down to get my money back b/c this is an unfair, DISGUSTING way to run a business for ppl who want to go on vacation.  .... vacations are supposed to be a time to relax, retreat, and take time to enjoy the little things in life, however doing business with you guys is ANYTHING BUT that.  So thank you for giving me such a headache about my financial status and screwing me over for multiple things besides JUST a vacatiobn.....

If you need assistance contact me via email...I don't need to hide, I just will not be responsible for your loss' as I contracted work with a company, and still continued to book their travelers even after the business closed doors, and they left owing me close to $2000.00.  I have no access to their database, but if you email the info.vrh email  it is still forwarded to me and I will definitely respond.  Gant....I did not charge you anything more than what was needed from the resort for your booking.    When you purchased initially the funds should have been used for booking, and confirmation should have come immediately....Which is how I run my own business.  The problem is that when you have this type company that offers these type packages which are in exchange for the tour you are getting a cheap vacation for touring and as usual the key word is "NO" if you do not want to purchase.  Thank you for your kind words HCAREY, I am glad you enjoyed your stay....You were a nice person to deal with (sad how anger is showed towards you because you actually enjoyed your stay), a few issues but we worked it all out.   When I gave discounts they were because I used my contracts vs booking at the resorts limited to VRH...if you need assistance and you qualify I will help you out if I can; otherwise as the others have done I suggest you contact your credit card companies and request a refund...Good luck...I will not come back to this site, if you need help contact me, I can't do anything about your refund go after the company...30 years old/married co-habitating/ if you want to book a US resort in maybe Orlando or Vegas ask about my other options...if you are contact to simply BI***, don't bother, because you will be the one responsible for nobody receiving assistance.  Understand this message is because I understand the frustrations; however, understand that I booked packages, and booked many people taking a loss because obviously your monies were spent prior to contacting for booking.....Lots went into the struggle to get some of you your monies back, but don't bring threats to the one person who tried to make things work for all of you...EMAIL ME if I CAN HELP I WILL!!!  First cruel email, and the email address will be deleted, and your forwards will not be able to be answered.  Please give me a 24-48 hour response time as I work in the field but will check the old email every other day as long as the forward from their company continues to come through and I can deal with respectful persons, I will assist!

This appears to be the same group that use to work under the Corp Travel Dept. name.  Now they do not even show a company name.

It is a SCAM. so do not give them any information, do not call.  Even if you attempt to use the service to remove your number, it will not work.  If you call a person and request to be removed that also will not work.  their normal procedures are rotating through a number of 8** phone numbers and calling every number that they can that has a FAX attachewd.

Have any of you guys actually traveled with this company? My mom and I booked a package to Cancun with them several weeks ago. I received my package containing all our resort info, very professional. Their customer service department e-mails or calls me everyother day. Thus far, we have received exceptional service. Can't wait till August when we celebrate my mom's 50th bday in Cancun baby!

It is not a scam! My wife and I booked with them for an all adult resort in Cancun. We are both very pleased with our sales guy, Christian. I asked if airfare was included and was told "no", I asked if I could travel to Panama and was told "no". If they wanted to scam us, they would have said "yes" and taken my money. They have maintained honest and helpful.

Has anyone even gone a trip to see if its a scam???????  I also booked with them about two weeks ago, and I haven't had a problem with them.  They have been very professional since day one.  My trip is schedule for August 18 and until I go on the trip, I have to at least give this company the benefit of a doubt.  And I think everyone else should do the same.

I booked the vacation last september, was supposed to be going on my trip this summer and now that I'm calling to try and finalize my plans the number is no longer good. It belongs to some movie company or something and the website I visited before is now obsolete. If anyone has experienced the same issues please share your story and advise as to what I can do next.

Tonya was by far the best person I worked with.  It wasn't until she got involved that things actually happened.  But in the end she stiffed me as well and the whole process ended up just as badly as it began.   Like I said in my previous response above, in my opinion it is not worth it dealing with these people.   They don't even understand the concept of basic customer service.

But like I said above...once you pay them you become a cow in the herd.   You are at the mercy of getting sold to the highest bidding hotel for whatever week you want to travel.   Good luck getting the hotel you pick on their website or the hotel you initially discuss with them.

My experience was very similar.   I booked with VRH Vacations back in August of 2010 and I did finally get a vacation from them in March of 2011...not at the hotel I originally paid for and booked for though.   Let me state something very clearly to anybody that gets an offer from VRH Vacations, 5 Star Caribbean Resorts, or any other name they might be using...

You might eventually get a vacation from them, but their #1 priority is not you or your desired vacation.  From the research I have done it appears they take your money, and then they bid you out on a kind of exchange to hotels that are looking for time share customers.   For example, say you send VRH your money and pick a resort.  That does not mean this is the resort you end up at.   For example, if another hotel comes along and offers VRH $1000 to book your stay there, while the previous place you had already booked at was only willing to pay VRH $800...you may find that they switch you at the last minute.   VRH makes their money by getting you to pay them, plus getting the hotels selling timeshares to pay them money for booking you there.   The hotels selling timeshares want guests to sell their product to.   When you book with VRH you become part of the pool of guests at the mercy of whatever resort is willing to pay VRH the most for booking you there during the week you want to travel.

In my experience all the hassle you go thru with them is not worth it.   I can give details for those interested, but even Tonya ended up stiffing me as well at the last minute and never returning my phones calls or emails when they switched me at the last minute.   The best part was that VRH never even told me that they switched me.  I found out myself because I was checking everything they told me.

The classic excuse from everybody at VRH is that they didn?t make the mistake, don't know how the mistake was made, or that they aren?t to blame for the confusion.   I didn?t find one person at VRH that would stand up and take responsibility for doing what they promised.   It is obvious there is a lot of dishonesty involved in the whole process.   I made a big deal at of this at the hotel I was switched to at the last minute when I arrived there, and one of their managers there was kind enough to take me to breakfast and explain the whole process to me and how companies like VRH do their business.  This confirmed the research that I had done up to that point.

Again, this is not a real travel agency in the sense that your vacation is their #1 priority.   You may get your vacation.   And if they can make the best profit from you and it just so happens you get what you want...then so be it.  But that isn't the primary goal.  At the end of the day, you will save a little bit of money by booking thru them, but in my experience the hassle is not worth it.   The amount you save is so small compared to the headaches and chaos that comes from dealing with them and trying to get straight answers to simple questions just isn't worth wasting so much of your time.

Caveat Emptor with this outfit.

P.S...They claim that they send you to 4-Star and 5-Start hotels.  Good luck with that.   I bet you that by the time you end up somewhere it will be in reality a 3-Star place.   I got sent to hotel that might be a 4-Star or 5-Star hotel someday...but it was under CONSTRUCTION and only about 1/3 finished.  The beach was unswimmable because it wasn't due to be cleaned up for swimming until a future construction phase.  Most of the restaurants weren't built or open yet, and the view from our room overlooked a huge construction site.   Seriously, this is the kind of outfit you are dealing with if you decide to do business with VRH Vacations or whatever other name they are calling themselves these days.

This stupid fax came to my office at my lowest point (after intense renovations in July 2010 - ugh!) and I figured everyone else seems to get these great deals, so I thought I'd sign up.  Now after all the trouble of trying to get any response from VRH, get a booking happening or getting ANYTHING from them, my husband totally thinks this is a scam.  I am going to get this trip booked if it near kills me since I have already booked our flight.  Although VRH is a very shady operation, it seems that some people manage to finally get booked by the skin of their teeth, albeit sometimes with extra fees or sub-standard hotels.  I am determined to avoid this.  So anyway, thanks for giving a little more info on Tonya Arroyo and VRH.  Knowing she is a contractor makes a lot more sense now, since she's the only one who has given me any real service.  Some of the communication was still a little spotty, but generally she has eventually done what she said she would do (so far, anyway!)  She sent a form for us to make our booking (June 28 to July 3, 2011), but when we faxed it, she said it was not received.  A little nerve-wracking since our credit card info is on there.  Anyway I will be sending it again tomorrow, and fingers crossed, she will get it and begin the booking process.  I would rather go for a vacation after all this than just get a refund.  Maybe I'll see if she can give me a refund on VRH and make a booking with her company's resorts instead.  Sounds way better anyway.  Wish me luck!

Apparently all it takes is alot of b****ing.  I sent 3 emails yesterday (1 directly from their website, 1 from the 5 star caribbean travel website, and 1 directly to Tonya Arroyo).  I got a call bright and early this morning at 9am from Tonya and after explaining my frustration she will be issuing me a refund.  What I understood from her is that she is not affiliated with VRH vacations..she simply is contracted by them to do their bookings and it is VRH that fails to follow up with the bookings as she needs confirmation from them before she can book anything.  She was very nice and offered me travel to other places.  She also said that her company has alot of nice resorts (as I was mad that I was told I had an option of ten 5 star resorts and none of them are 5 stars).  If you are having issues with VRH contact Tonya directly.  The number is 1-866-267-5130.  I will keep you posted about whether or not my refund actually goes through.

I bought a package from VRH in August and have had nothing but frustration with these morons.  First off I got a fax at my work saying I could get a vacation to Mexico or the Dominican for $199 and there were only limited spots available.  Seeing as to how the fax did not have a business name on it, I assumed it was from Head Office at my work.  I was quitting my job soon and explained to the person who answered and asked if I could still benefit from this package.  At no point did he ever mention that he was not even affiliated with my work.  I was told there were only two packages left so of course I purchased...although the price was not $199 it was $250 per person.  I was told there  were only peak fees at Christmas and to give 45 days advance notice of travel.  Well, I recieved my credit card bill and realized I was charged in AMERICAN dollars.  I am from Canada and assumed that if they were sending me a fax at my CANADIAN workplace I would be charged in CDN dollars..not the case.  I had no idea they were even an American company! Thus I was charged at extra $30 for the exchange rate.  I was already pissed off at this point..not that $30 is a big deal but just that they were so shady about the whole thing.  Anyways, I wanted to book a vacation in February so I started calling in Decemeber.  I called literally like 15 times and sent countless emails before I finally got a response and then I was just being passed around...I was told I had to speak to a specific travel Coordinator but then said person never answered their phone or emails so I again had to call a million times, leave countless messages...the worst part..sitting on hold for 30 min only to get hung up on! Finally, I got through and they told me I only had two resorts to choose from because apparently there was no availability...umm b***s***. I could see on Expedia that all the resorts they claim to offer had availability.  Also, when I bought my package I was told all the resorts were 5 star...none of them are.  Since I was not pleased with this option, I tried to sell the package to someone else.  They had to call VRH vacations a million times and then were told that they had to pay an extra $200 per person in resort fees ...WTF! Since then, nobody has answered my calls. I filed a complaint with the BBB in Florida and they could not reach them either.  I also commented on their Facebook page only to have them remove me from their page...how bout calling me and giving me a refund a***oles.  My credit card company said they could not do anything about it when I called in September asking for a refund because I was charged in American dollars which I did not agree to.  However, I am going to call next week to try and get a refund again...this company is SHADY!

It is under construction but is a very nice place Dont pay the airport fee they charge it is cheaper thru USA transfer and at the last minute the hotel phoned and gave us transportation from the airport for free. The time share presentation wasn't that bad just tell them from the start your not interested but that it will be a beautiful resort when finished. Took less than 2 hrs. All booze and food is free which is top notch. Service is great.

We were charged an additional $550 for a "deluxe" resort fee.   This fee was never disclosed during our original purchase.  I paid it because of where we were supposed to go.   But now they have switched us 3 times from the resorts we originally booked at and we have ended up at the VDP...same place as you went.

I am pretty sure most of the people who book with VRH are going to get shipped off to Villa Del Palmar in Cancun.  The property is still under construction and they are trying to sell timeshares there.  It might be a nice resort someday, but doesn't sound complete yet.

I am going to VRH and find out why we were charged an additional fee to go to the same place.  To this point, the process hasn't been smooth for us.  I have routinely gotten different stories and extremely poor communication.   I could have booked this vacation on my own in less than 30 minutes for about the same price.
